#1275443 What do you hate? And Why?

Posted by Strawbellies on 08 June 2014 - 07:46 AM

"When I'm with my guy friends, I'm just a guy. They see me like I'm one of the boys."

You don't need to be seen as a guy to have a platonic relationship with boys; you're not a guy. What's wrong with them seeing you as a girl when YOU ARE A GIRL? You don't need a penis to enjoy their company, no need to imply it.

Why aren't guys ever just HANGING WITH THE LADIES? With my girls? When I'm with my girls, it's just like I'm a girl? Why???

#1242584 Senior Project, Quick Questionnaire

Posted by Strawbellies on 10 May 2014 - 07:24 PM

I'm not Australian, JS. Hope your senior year has been going better than mine.

Why did you first become interested in Manga/Manwha?

Not really sure, perhaps curiosity. Liked the style of it; seemed more fleshed out in comparison to the cartoons in my youth. Why watch Arthur when Tokyo Mew Mew was incredibly more entertaining?

Kenshin and Hakusho were also some late night animes that crawled its way past much of the other stuff I SHOULD have been watching, but I don't remember much of them in the end either.

If you want a more definite answer: My parents worked nights, slept through the day when they got home. I took many naps with them, never woke up much in the morning but rather was up late at night. Anime showed on Cartoon Network then. Sundays and Saturdays my parents were off, I was awake in the morning, Tokyo Mew Mew and other kid animes like Yu Gi Oh.

3rd/4thish grade.

What was going on in your life at the time? Where were you headed?

Was a kid. Pretty young, prior to 5th grade. Distinctly remember not knowing what middle school was, so to be honest, I didn't really have a concept of 'future', 'life', 'goals'.

Sounds like the life to me.

Other than that, I was a pretty out-casted kid. Two friends, not really friends, max. Annoying girl kids hated. Snitch.

My interest in anime actually did not contribute to any of this until 7th/6th grade.

How has Manga/Manwha influenced you? Have you noticed any changes in your Identity or personality that you would attribute to Manga/Manwha?

Yes.

Put me grouped with the 'weird' kids who didn't care what people thought of them. They were pretty happy.

I eventually grew out of anime for a long time and resented all of that; hated those kinds of kids. Forgot I went to anime conventions. Was one of them.

Older now, I'm incredibly more accepting, more open about loving anime. I judge people a lot less, you could say. But then again, so does everyone, imo. Lots of people are above that now; or don't give a fuck. Which is great.

Other than that, I also daydream a lot. Fangirl a lot.

(My school is a small school. Cliques were a big thing.)

What is Manga/Manwha to you?

Solace, maybe? I love romance stories. I go to them for comfort.

Often, very often, a distraction. I procrastinate a lot with manga.

Also, if something bad happened, I can be more immersed in Manga than in streams of my favorite video games or videos I like to watch.

I prefer manga to TV and I was raised with TV. I don't know when the transition happened, but I hardly watch TV these days.

Has Manga/Manhwa ever caused you to question or change your values and/or beliefs?

Rarely.
For me to say that, I'd have to pinpoint specific mangas.
It's more like they grant me more perspective. But a very few only do that.

Didn't he get nerfed with 4.2? .... along with my Riven T_T

Anyone here watch Keyori, uberdanger or some other LoL youtuber?

I found his nerf not to harsh. It was on his shield, by increasing flow needed; plus the flow given for his dash.
If anything, I think it makes early game a little tougher. But I'm hardly a league expert. 8D

Heartseeker Ashe looks like a bomb ass chick. I love it. I love her.
