what's the alien's name??
To be fair, since the author died, we'll never know how the story would have gone.
in many ways this is a very standard "alien girlfriend romp" that doesn't go as deep as it could. it doesn't touch much on what kinds of expectations two people from such different backgrounds would've had out of a relationship or what being a parent is like. the thing that elevates this comic tho is the lovely art and some pretty good character designs. there's a roundedness to the style that's just happy. even the bug aliens are smooth and cute. the artist had a skill for drawing characters that were fun to look at. plus there were some pretty good babes.
That's true, reading it made me happy
Well, all humans look more like the female of her kind than the male. ("Blobby chicks you wouldn't fxck!") So maybe any half-human boy would look like a perfect trap from the alien PoV.
OMG THIS IS GREAT AND IM SAD THAT THIS ONE HAS ENDED AND ALSO HAPPY TO SEE THIS ENDED WELL!!!
thank you miyata kouji... and rest in peace...
It's a shame there aren't more manga series out there like this. It wasn't just the alien characters that made it special. The couple were great together and felt believable. The jokes were good and it had plenty of cute moments too.
RIP Miyata.
Well it more depends on the culture of the human civilization. Japan would probably be both the most resistant, and peaceful culture for integration, but ultimitly would chomp at the bit for advanced tech. The USA would be a mix, but ultimately super willing for integration it it ment getting advance technology. Placed like the middle east, no, as it is, it would say a dangerous place. In the end, if it's Japan, I can see it becoming a near Utopia, there closest to it as it is.
Welp, there you go. Glad to see it ended properly. A lot of living authors don't get to see that.
Yeah, but a nice Utopia anyway, even if completely unrealistic.
In reality witch hunts for "the secret Alien Invaders that sneeked into society" would start within seconds.
On another note, i knew dubai was run by aliens!!!! But dubai republic doesn't exist"....its a "state" in the united arab emirates btw and not part of saudi. Dubai is quite liberal too, for a non secular country.
In some families, toddlers wear gender ambiguous clothing, but it's just the cover art so his clothing likely doesn't have any significant meaning. And believe it or not, some boys do go shopping with girls. Don't read too deeply into it.
There goes my source of sweet alien story.
The author died? Damn. RIP.
Just as the author
It was a fun ride. Sad to hear it ended so soon, both for the manga and for the author. =(
Hmm ......
Asora is wearing female clothing in the cover and "his" female friend ask him to go shopping with them .....
But Asora is shown always wearing a boy-ish outfit and I doubt that the translator make a mistake .....
I'm kinda confused .....
wow a actually well written good ending
...
as this series already ended, it will be "buried" ...
thank you "Miyata Kouji" for creating this wonderful manga ...
God dammit. I was gonna rant about how it's hard to find gems like this and now I got ambushed by invisible onion cutting ninjas ;~;
If memory serves, it is considered somewhat normal for young kids in Japan to have crushes on their own sex and parents treat it as a phase that will pass; Full-blown homosexuality in adulthood is, however, considered abnormal.
What a nice read. Too bad its over, it would be nice to see how the series would keep forward from the last chapters.
