#1855210 New manga site like bato.to

Posted by Chilled SDK on 10 January 2018 - 10:10 AM

Personally I pref they way bato.to did it with the small thumbnails because I could always get an idea of the artwork and whats the story about when looking for new manga to read. Having to go back to scanning all the titles on the mangaupdates release page and checking random titles for new manga is gonna be so tiring everyday :(

Saw a comment on reddit discussing Batoto shutting down which might help you out with getting an idea of how the artwork looks on mangaupdates. There were also some other useful scripts for MU mentioned earlier.

#1849875 Trying to find out the name of a manhua

Posted by Chilled SDK on 19 December 2017 - 10:16 AM

Damn I remember this one, it's been a while since I've seen a new chapter so can't remember the name. Will try to have a look around myself.

To give more info to others:

  • I'm pretty sure the trials themselves were organised at certain times so they expected when they would have the trial.
  • Sometimes the trial would happen together with the mage, other times not.
  • The mage was rich and got the MC to move in with her.
  • Anything which they had on their possession at the time carried over to that world so I'm pretty sure the MC brought a firearm at one point and pretty much massacred an entire race (orc or imps?).

#1507053 What manga did you just finish?

Posted by Chilled SDK on 28 February 2015 - 12:12 PM

Just finished reading 3 Level Combination. It was a pretty interesting read. It started off with a typical setting of a student being bullied with no one to help him yet the story didn't feel similar to many others of its genre. The plot at most times felt mysterious - it didn't reveal much of what really was happening until the end. The story however developed well and kept my attention through the strange setting asking a familiar question of what it means to be human. The ending was sad however I feel it may have been a bit dramatic.

#1433512 What manga did you just finish?

Posted by Chilled SDK on 23 December 2014 - 07:08 PM

My initial purpose for this thread was to allow anyone who has just finished a series or just caught up to a series from chapter 1 to review it providing anyone who is looking for new series to read. Diverting others from running to Comic Finder when they have run out of things to read. However in the time that this thread has been open, many have brought up that there really is no point just leaving a name of what you have read without any personal review and as such there has been a recent decline in the number of posters to the thread. I initially responded inadequately and did not solve the issue and now there are few posters who if post regularly, do review, as such I believe it would be best if were made compulsory for reviews with posts. However this does not mean you must provide an in-depth style review, a simple sentence of what you thought of and a rating would be fine for example.

Another issue which has arisen lately is the comparison to the thread "What are you currently reading?". When this thread was created I believe I had considered the similarities to that thread and responded with something different. To clarify, when a person has read the whole translated series whether it be completed or incompleted, you should write here. If you have just simply read one chapter, the newest chapter, or have not completed reading the possible number of chapters translated, please go to another thread.

Finally got around to reading Angel Densetsu. Loved reading it, had a good amount of comedy though it contained quite a bit of exaggeration. Overall however, the flow of the story continued well and finished off with a sweet ending. A good read.

#1327151 Naver Titles

Posted by Chilled SDK on 24 July 2014 - 06:05 AM

Well there goes a huge portion of translated manhwa down the drain. Have a feeling it will be months or even years before seeing not very well known ones to be put up on that site. Even more so for completed titles.

No Game No Life

Log Horizon

The .hack series. (Not exactly sure of the chronological order and from what Ive see there arent very many chapters on Batoto)

DICE: The Cube that Changes Everything

Nana to Kaoru Arashi, the side-story to Nana to Kaoru, complete now (apparently) at 45 chapters. Awesome, I enjoyed it thoroughly.........of course I've also never gotten into the whole mind-fuck of "how's it going to tie in with the main story though?!!!".........yeah, who cares. I've always tried not to think too hard about those sorts of things and just sit back and let the story come to me.   :)

I do hope the main story gets back on track now though, I myself was pretty surprised when Futari wa Pretty Anon dropped the scanlations of it. Oh well, Terrabane (now nanachanscans I guess) hopefully will begin making progress on the backlog.

Happy to see I wasnt the only one wondering when it would tie in. I wonder if he will make you refer to it later on.

Either way, that was a beautiful manga revealing many actions which most fans of Nana to Kaoru were waiting for.
