#121234 Batotos has one of the most censored forums I have visited.

Posted by Yaomo on 21 March 2012 - 08:37 PM

just to get back on topic again...

i really like the "heavy" modding on these forums. i find that i have a lot of freedom, as long as i stick to a few simple rules
without the censorship, i'm sure things would easily get out of hand. if that happens the owner of the site might just get tired of it and close everything down, and i wouldn't even feel like blaming him for it

the best thing would be if we can keep batoto a safe place even for 13-year-old kids. not a place where adult talk, flame wars, and spam ruins a good online community

takayuki and i are the same age, same pinch

the same age you say...
i'm already a father, so something has to be wrong with the way these guys count our years

Besides, Papa will always have us. Posted Image

And we're any age we want to be under 16.

yes, i'll always have you. no need to ask for more
and sesaje can be my mistress...

#120055 Let's make our own Manga :) (Story Part)

Posted by Yaomo on 21 March 2012 - 02:43 AM

Right. So we're pretty much locked on comedy, romance, drama, ecchi and school life as our main genres.

i've been thinking a little and reading your comments with this^ in mind.

a neko story is still possible to do, and make interesting:

#119382 will you go on date with me?

Posted by Yaomo on 20 March 2012 - 03:48 PM

some girls get attached way too fast. I think it's because of loneliness / social programming.

it might even be biologically programmed. born that way, i don't think any society could force a girl to get attached

#115171 We need a sillier, randomer, and more off topic name for this forum!

Posted by Yaomo on 16 March 2012 - 09:49 PM

no, i wanna keep this away from the games
or maybe make forum games a sub section in here

there are three pages of active games that would make it impossible to find the right thread for the type of off-topic conversation you want to engage in, if they are just merged. wouldn't work

#114852 Banning large watermark groups

Posted by Yaomo on 16 March 2012 - 10:55 AM

i don't really care about those watermarks. it's a persons own choice to read manga on an online manga reader rather than heeding the scanlators wishes and read/dl on their site
it's my own and other people's lazyness that causes watermarks on some of the manga i read
it shouldn't be all that difficult to go to the scanlator's site if you're a fan

i personally think that the scanlators should be considered god unless you can buy and read the original yourself, since they have the power to stop translating your favorites. complaining about watermarks seems to me like complaining about the free candy not being first-rate belgian chocolate. anyone who hasn't made a any effort at all in getting access to the manga shouldn't really complain

and by "effort" i mean learning the language and earning the money to buy the original

edited on hero's request, since i don't feel like contradicting myself

potato salad
because it's easier to add random spices and make it work

#112410 Serious Discussion Section request

Posted by Yaomo on 14 March 2012 - 12:17 AM

@Mhh: A suggestion is that moderators could start locking topics or topics filled with spam. And made new (official) ones themselves. I've seen it on other forums.

just locking spammed topics isn't really enough as i see it
it's better to have a spam section to move it to, so that it disappears from the section where it was started

i also don't agree with locking a post unless it gets out of hand in the form of flame wars, offending language, contents unsuitable for younger forum members, it being a totally pointless topic (doesn't present anything to discuss), unwanted advertising etc...
an otherwise good topic being flooded by spam doesn't seem like good enough reason to lock it. there's nothing wrong with spamming as long as it's done in a spam section

and finally, i don't think it's necessary to make new (official) topics, unless the mod really wants to

#112393 Serious Discussion Section request

Posted by Yaomo on 13 March 2012 - 11:39 PM

but seriously, wouldn't it be good to have a section for spam?
somewhere we can throw all threads in general discussions that end up containing too little serious discussion

even better if the posts in spam section don't give any post count points,
then people would start discussing topics seriously if they wan't to see their post count rise
since all spam posts would turn invalid when a thread is judged as spam and moved
they would also think twice before creating new topics in general discussion

#109521 Is your childhood comics ending soon. :(

Posted by Yaomo on 10 March 2012 - 11:04 AM

mines all ended already! but theirs always something better coming out!

Precisely, I can't even remember how many have ended because I pick up at least ten new ones everyday.

pretty much like that ^

the worst is when a series ends on a cliffhanger because the mangaka died

i don't wanna be left with some superhuman that can kill me for eternity

why you said it's "too normal". shouldn't be possible to get too much of it?

It this case no need to do that cause it is normal to wonder what is that stuff.
or Don't tell me you haven't watch?

And the expression of "too" is for underlining it.

ah, so that's what it's for. kay, i see
of course i've watched. a lot. both 2D and 3D

#103550 Your favorite Japanese/Korean/Anime music?

Posted by Yaomo on 03 March 2012 - 02:28 PM

maximum the hormone (you know them if you've watched death note)
seikima-II (they made their own anime: humane society)
buck-tick (trinity blood, nightwalker, xxxholic, shiki)
yashiro aki (enka...)

all are easy to find on youtube
there are others too, but for those i mentioned, i like all their songs, and not just a few of them

at another forum i was irregular for a few months, and then suddenly i was called a veteran

but i doubt that will happen here. i tend to disappear from forums just long enough at a time that i'm forgotten
and when i come back nobody remembers i was ever there
that other forum was just small enough for people to actually get to know each other

#101279 Dear Regulars of Batoto! Introduce yourself to Newbies :-)

i guess i should call myself a regular here, since i read manga in this place every day since i joined
if you wonder about small post count (this will be my 2nd), it's because i found out how to use that "follow" function,
and am currently following over 200 titles. around 70 of those are manga i'm currently in the process of reading

so if you don't see me in the forums, that's because i'm busy reading something interesting
but you might see a comment or two on some of the mangas
