Oh DR, analyze me like one of your french girls.

I'm flattered.

For Vaffy: Though I can say that I haven't read much of your work, but from what little I have read I arrived at this. Oak Brown or Timber Brown is a misleading color, one that doesn't seem to standout like the Reds and Blues but is always present in some token or form throughout a setting. Like an anchor for a ship, it provides that earthy assurance and balance to a wild scene. Similar to most of your characters.

It maybe easy to form an opinion about them based on how they look or talk but that is almost always missing the core of them and things they are capable of. It is like they have multiple layers and the more you dig deeper the more different it is from the first image you saw. They move through a subtle gradation of behavior, like someone who has practiced the social skills to a level that he is an urban chameleon. It is not easy to guess the motives.

They may appear harmless and yet be capable of violence that can't be expected or fathomed. Or they may appear rough and barbaric and yet have sagely side to them that will almost always floor you. Also, most of them are always ahead of the years or wise-beyond the years. But that seems natural and not forced.

Have a reserved and practiced ease about themselves and are comfortable in their skin. Thus, the color. It seems really commonplace but once we look outside we'll find more in every spec than most colors can hope to be.

@Mafia: This is purely a suggestion because you said that you are interested in this style. Crime and Punishment and Letters from the underground by Dostevosky. You have read Nietsche, I think it would be worth your time to give them a look

Auram calmly bucketed water out of  leisurely sinking Gulo Gulo   glou glou indeed he thought. Although he didn't show it, in fact things rarely showed on his face, the crews' tendency to loose ships worried him. The question that wandered across the back of his mind was what if my (future) stash of gold is on it.

For a second he felt a shiver race down his spine, some things should never be thought. However Auram made a solemn promise to make sure their new boat was much better fair.  They reached the port, and made their final goodbye to the Gulo Gulo.
...
Auram sniffed disdainfully at the milling crowds. These sheep with their silly ideas of order. Their very lives a rigorous adherence to daily monotone. Worst of all their attraction to stupid pieces of paper as money. To hell with them demon spawned fiat currencies.  Back in the good old days it was gold that stood for money. It had meaning, it had values. No one made statues from paper did they!

Feeling annoyed, he pulled out a smoke and lit it with a click of his fingers. With sheer friction. Acrid green wasabi fumes pured out from his nose. It would have burned the faces off for normal folk.

Charlotte halted abruptly, in front of a spot. A rather famous spot. However Auram wasn't to impressed by it. However what did impress him was the very large bank behind it.

All of a sudden he felt saliva collecting in his mouth. Banks had that kind of effect on him. They made his knees go weak, and made butterflies flutter in stomach. On the outside he was as stoic as ever.  He had focus hard to maintain his balance. Chanting repeatedly "Myo ho ren ge kyo" to maintain inner peace.

Zambi woke up groggy and rather sleepy, he found that he was in a large bed filled many beautiful ladies. He wasn't sure what exactly happened the night before, but headache trying to split his noggin clued him into the fact that it was probably ale related. He looked out to see that the sun had already risen well into the sky.
"I feel like I should be doing something" he thought to himself. He shrugged to no one in particular. weaving through the tangle of bare arms and legs he picked up his assorted garments and weapons. The inn master was grinning with a large smile when he saw, the little fellow.
"Well I'll be, havn't had a fellow like yous in these parts for a long time theres gonna be a few more songs to yer legend from today, I say"  he said, clapping Zambo in the back.

Zambo didnt want expose his ignorance so he went along with the inn keeper " Hohoho, it was a quaint little party thats for sure" He said putting on his most confident smirk.  "By the way my good man, have seen you my acquaintances by any chance?"
"Ah! I believe they made for the necropolis some time ago" says the innkeeper, pointing to the necropolis' general direction.
"AAAAH! THATS WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!" he said,  as he dashed out the door. He promptly jumped  onto the rooftops and made a beeline for the Necropolis. If sped fast enough he might sill make it in time.

Inside the Necorpolis

For the second time in the day he woke up again, he had barely made it  to the necropolis when he was jumped by two lumbering goons. He was about to call out to Timothy and Johnathan too. Unfortunately for Zambo he was exhausted and his ki was blocked due to a a vengeful hangover, so it didnt take long to subdue him.
He found himself tied up in a neat little bundle and hung from a torch holder. It was quite humiliating. People never stopped making fun of his size. Well it just meant more faces to cave in. His sleep had been restorative and Zambo was once again functional at 100%. He didnt even have to try to blast out of the rope.
As he dropped on to the floor, he heard some muttering up ahead. As he went in to investigate Zambo discovered it was none other than Timothy and Johnathan. They seemed to be deep in conversation.
"HEY GUYS! YOU FORGOT ME! HAHAHA..... BUT I FOUND YOU ANYWAYS" he yelled in greetings

Timothy Twist

Ropes? Pfft, please. Really? Ropes? Come on. Didn't they know who Timothy was? The dude was practically trained for getting out of this kind of stuff. And when I say practically, I mean literally, because he was literally trained to escape ropes. Though his training was much more thorough than this pathetic attempt at a tie-up job. The Magician, aka Father, didn't do things by halves.

I mean, where did these guys even study tying people up? They couldn't have gone to a good college, like Knotsdale, because they would've just been laughed off campus for this ludicrus display. For starters they should've used better rope, this was just tacky. No class. This entire attempt was weak. They probably went to the school of awful knots, because that's what it seemed like. Idiots. In no time at all he and Jonathan had managed to cut through their ropes and grab the hooded men.

Timothy took a moment to look around as Jonathan tried doing useful things. He was asking questions and such. Timothy didn't need to ask question. Obviously they were in the big spooky tomb place. That was all the info he needed. He had wanted to get in. He was going exploring! He'd find the exit eventually if he explored everything. "Haha!" He cried, "Take that! You silly ancient magical locking whatevers! Timothy Twist, at your service, cracking the mystery codes in an instant!" He had a very annoying look on his face at this point as he looked across at Jonathan rather condescendingly. "Got us straight in, didn't I? What were you doing this whole time, eh, Jonathan? Eh? Made a special effort to wake up early and everything, didn't you. How long you been here? Huh? Been trying to get in have you? That's nice. It's cute. It's a shame you don't quite have my skills though. I just roll up and BOOM! We're in the secret temple! One try, one success! My key is my goddamn face! I'm unbeatable! No locks are safe! Haha!" The cocky grin on his face faded a little as he realized he'd been quite rude to Jonathan in all his excitement. That wouldn't do. He liked Jonathan. And they were crew-mates. It wasn't good for crew-mates to have unresolved issues. He'd heard that somewhere. So it must be true. It sounded like it could be true. "Hey, Jonathan, remember that time I made fun of you because you didn't unlock that magic door? I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean it. I just got a bit carried away. You understand right? You know that it's not easy opening all these rune-locked, mystical, magical doors, it's just nice to enjoy it sometimes."

I think I spend too much time in Warhammer community, but vaffy's character reminds me of this line way too much.

"The Machine is strong. We must purge the weak, hated flesh and replace it with the blessed purity of metal. Only through permanence can we truly triumph, only through the Machine can we find victory. Punish the flesh. Iron in mind and body. Hail the Machine!"

Blades of Fealty

A Fantasy-Filled Medieval Tale between Good and Evil

BladesOfFealtyBanner4_zps34f28719.png

Before man came to be, the world was filled with chaos. Unholy terrors and creatures stalked the lands, destroying all within their path. But amidst the darkness that eclipsed this unforgiving reality, man was born. In what would come to be known as the Deicide Age, man banded together to conquer the world around them. Beings that were once called gods were slain, and monsters that were great threats were leashed and subdued.

At the end of this time of conquest, the civilisation of man was carved from his victories. Among the many societies that were formed, Empyria, a most fearsome empire, was the strongest and largest. Its first emperor had been the one to have first led man to confront the chaos, and using the power of Light, he created a land where those he loved could flourish in peace. He became the Hero of Light, and there was no one that did not know his incredible feats.

However, the Deicide Age soon came to an end. Man grew weak from complacency. The chaotic beings that had once been driven off soon returned. As centuries after centuries past, more and more of the world were retaken by the darkness. Countries fell and became isolated from each other. The realm of Empyria shrunk. Even with their might, they could not fend off the darkness forever. The dynastic line of the Hero of Light became weak, and with it came the loss of the power of Light.

Three decades ago, Empyria was a pittance of its former glory. Those that lived in the central region of the empire were comfortable and happy, but blissfully ignorant of the constant state of danger and poor living that resided in the empire’s marches. The emperor had been a weak and cowardly man, and his two sons were shaping up to be the same. However, all things changed upon the birth of his daughter, the Princess of Light.

For the first time in over a thousand years, the member of the royal throne held the power of Light that their ancestor, the Hero of Light, used to drive back the darkness. The Princess of Light saw the plight of her people throughout the world, and knew it was her purpose to bring hope and power back to the hands of humans.

In the texts of old, it was said that the Hero of Light had fought the source of the darkness that plagued the world, and with its destruction came peace. The Princess of Light rallied to find this source, and destroy it once and for all, but many did not want to risk their lives on what was thought to be a foolish quest. Only thirteen men and women would take up her cause.

The Tactician; a brilliant and cunning young man that could bring victory despite impossible odds.

The Huntress Twins; two sisters that lived in the frontier, battling monsters to make their living.

The Handmaiden; the Princess of Light’s personal knight whom had served her since she was a child.

The Cleric; a maiden devoted to religion who hoped to see the darkness driven away.

The Soldier; a diligent member of the Royal Army who sought peace and order to the country he proudly served.

The Valkyrie; a strong woman hailing from the north with the desire to see those around her happy.

The Swordsman; a man whose skill with the blade was unsurpassed in the empire.

The Foreigner; a mysterious warrior from a land isolated at sea.

The Noble; a man from an impoverished noble family who joined the princess to reclaim his house’s former honour and prestige.

The Necromancer; a woman dedicated to the study of the darkness that threatens the land.

The Sorcerer; a man famous for his magic on a quest to seek more knowledge.

The Rogue; a cheerful older gentleman who joined for the riches that could be had.

Together with the Princess of Light, they became known as the Thirteen Crusaders that travelled into the Dusk to drive away the dark by destroying the Dusk Emblem. But at the end of their journey during the battle that would decide the fate of the world, six of the thirteen betrayed the Princess of Light. The Handmaiden, the Swordsman, the Foreigner, the Necromancer, the elder Huntress Twin, and the Rogue broke their oath of fealty. These six would become known as the Warlocks of Dusk, and would forever be scorned for their treachery.

Fortunately, the seven that had remained loyal stood their ground to protect the Princess of Light. The seven would become known as the Holy Knights, and together they fought back against the Warlocks of Dusk and slew them. However, the Princess of Light was injured in the battle, and did not have enough strength to completely destroy the Dusk Emblem, merely shattering it into the Shards of Dusk. Nevertheless, the beings that drew their power from the darkness were weakened considerably.

The Princess of Light and her Holy Knights returned to Empyria, and were forever hailed as heroes. The Second Crusade had come to an end, and the Princess of Light and the thirteen others that participated would be marked down in history.

Twenty-five years had passed since then, and slowly Empyria began to grow again. More and more, lands were retaken, and though the darkness still remained, they could finally be overcome. The Princess of Light, now the Empress of Light, called forth the Third Crusade to destroy the Shards of Dusk. It was time to finally extinguish the darkness once and for all, and to finish up what she had begun long ago.

You play as the children of the Thirteen Crusaders, and it is now your duty to complete what your parents had started.
