1000 years ago the gods descended from the heavens. Or some of them did anyway. More have come since. I think we have most of them here now. Personally I'm surprised it took them that long to move in. If I was making a house as awesome as 'The Planet' you bet your sweet ass I'd be living in it. Anyway, that's besides the point. The point is this. The gods are real. The gods are among us. The gods are bored.
And that's where humanity comes in. Plus a wide variety of other species including hobbits and cat-folk and stuff but it'll take way too long to list them all everytime so 'humanity' will have to suffice as something of a catch-all term.
So, 'Humanity' is the very reason the gods decided to descend down to the planet in the first place. They lived up in the heavens being all immortal, unchanging and all-powerful looking down at the puny rabble that is humanity as they potter around and live their lives. They saw the rise and fall of civilizations, blah-de-blah, etcetera, etcetera. All that drama that comes from being part of humanity. And as they watched they took a look around and realized that everything in the heavens never changed at all and was incredibly boring by comparison. So down they came. And now they have a whole new batch of toys to play with. Humanity.
The gods can bless humanity. And through doing so they bring that person into their Familia. They give them the ability to become more than what they are. The ability to raise their status and become stronger. In exchange the Familia usually works for their god or goddess by delving deep into the dungeon for loot. These are known as exploration type Familia's. There are others type though, like the business type who run shops, industrial type who create goods, weapons or armour, medicinal types create potions and antidotes, and there are even Familia that wish to create their own nations. It all depends on what their god wants.
Oh, I mentioned the dungeon didn't I? The seemingly endless labyrinth of dungeons underneath The Towel of Babel? Right in the center of Orario? Orario ringing any bells? Biggest city in the world and stuff. The dungeon makes monsters? Come on, I'm sure I mentioned this. About how people go into it to get stronger by fighting the creatures that it spawns. And all the riches that can be found within. The fame and glory. I know I mentioned all of that before. Definitely. You don't need another explanation. I'll just skip it. It's fine. Don't worry about it.
History is done. Class is over. Go home.
Sensei is going for a drink.

Spoiler
STATS
Your basic stats, as you probably know, are Power, Endurance, Agility, Dexterity and Magic. Each is represented as a rank and a number. For example, you might start with 'I 78' Power. That is Rank I, and your stat is 78. This sounds more complicated than it actually is. Stats can reach from 0 to 999. There are certain circumstances in which this can be surpassed, but not very easily. Here is the easy way to find which rank the stat is at currently:
0-99 is Rank I,
100-199 is Rank H,
200-299 is Rank G,
300-399 is Rank F,
400-499 is Rank E,
500-599 is Rank D,
600-699 is Rank C,
700-799 is Rank B,
800-899 is Rank A,
900-999 is Rank S.
Simples.
When you level up your stats are reset to the lowest possible rank. Rank I 0. Though the levels they were at before remain as an invisible baseline for the new tier of stats. Don't worry about it too much. Your god will deal with it. And since I know that I am your god. I will deal with it for you. Aren't I benevolent. You're welcome.
MAGIC
Magic is pretty cool. It is also pretty rare. Some magic comes from certain races. Some can be picked up as you go along, provided you have the aptitude for it.
If you wish to start with magic you can have 2 utility spells and one attacking spell to begin with.
Magic takes longer to cast the stronger it is. There are some exceptions, such as rare magic found in Grimoires, etc. But generally the rule sticks. And as we all know. It doesn't matter if you are powerful enough to destroy Orario with a single spell if you can't activate it before someone runs in a stabs you in the eye. So sometimes less is more. Magic requires extreme focus and distractions can be costly. So maybe don't try and push yourself too far until you get some more experience under your belt.
SKILLS
Skills are powerful, often unique, abilities that manifest when you level up. Sometimes you will even get options of which skills you can choose from. They tend towards being passive bonuses rather than activated abilities. Honestly. Like most things in this life. Just let someone else handle it. It'll probably be fine. Your god will let you know about this sort of thing when it happens. Probably.
Places:
Spoiler
Orario: A large city that grew up around the Dungeon. Located right in the center is the tower known as Babel. The dungeon is directly underneath said tower. Orario is pretty much the capital city of the entire world. It's the place where most of the Gods and Goddesses have settled. And it's the location of the one and only Dungeon. Which means it's the best place to get stronger, faster. So it is home to the highest population of Adventurers and those whom wish to sell their wares to said adventurers.
Babel: Babel is a huge tower built right where the action is. Smack dab in the middle of Orario and straight over the top of the dungeon entrance. Babel is owned by the Guild and used to watch and take care of the dungeon. The first twenty floors are filled with Familia business, facilities, and money exchanges. Above that are living areas of the most prominent Gods in Orario, known as the Private Rooms. These rooms are rather darn expensive.
The Dungeon: Directly underneath The Babel Tower lies The Dungeon. A complex labyrinth that is seemingly alive, spawning monsters from walls and ceilings, even repairing itself on its own. While the upper floors can be soloed or done with a pair, starting from the middle floors one must create a party or risk death.
People:
Spoiler
Hel Familia
Spoiler
Hel
Hel is the god of the Dead. That alone drives many people away. She's not going to turn around out of nowhere and stab you in the eyes, but she looks like she might, and she's a death god. So she has a small Familia. Mostly just the outcasts of society and those of a Post-life persuasion. Only those who took the risk of trying to get to know her. But those that get into her Familia come to respect her a lot. Her main passion right now is trying to help make the lives of those without lives better.
Seth is a cocky, mocking and some what insane God of Violence. And as you'd expect he revels in violence. He can't get enough of it. He is constantly trying to start fights. Whether he's in them or not doesn't bother him all that much. If he sees a couple of people arguing he'll be in there fanning the flames. If someone talks to him then he'll talk to them, but he'll also be insulting, goading and telling them how much that one guy they know really hates them the whole time. His Familia isn't very large, for quite obvious reasons, but they are dangerous none-the-less. What with his Familia being populated mostly by bloodthirsty maniacs and people who want to get stronger so they can kill Seth himself.
Inari is a rather mysterious Goddess. She does things without much apparent reason, though seemingly it all makes sense to her. She is quite a popular goddess with a decent sized Familia. Large enough that she can live comfortably in a rather dignified household. She's polite and friendly and seems the type of person without a violent bone in her body. An image that is shattered instantly if she steps foot onto a battlefield. Her true goals are her own and we can only guess what they may be. But she is definitely up to something...
Simon Ulster
A Level 5 adventurer from Inari Familia. Easy going and friendly, though, when he needs to be serious he will be. He likes to mess about and get a bit of a rise out of people. Though he only does it as a bit of fun, he doesn't actually want to upset people.
Plitzintecuhtli Familia
Spoiler
Piltzintecuhtli
Piltzintecuhtli is a happy go lucky, carefree spirit. That's why he doesn't mind when I just call him Piltz. He is a morning person, up and ready to start the day at the crack of dawn. He has a great fondness for anything cute and/or cuddly. And if you were to ask him what his favorite thing in the world is, he'd say: "You." Piltz likes to brighten everyone's day and, since he often knows at least a little of the future, he is always planning away at some nice new surprise.
Hades Familia
Spoiler
Hades
Hades is an outcast. A God whom was excluded from everything by his family. A God whom was exiled by that same family. And that made him angry. He is currently in a bad mood. And has been for the past few millenia. But he now considers his Familia to be his true family. That's because his Familia is filled with people like him. People who were excluded. People who were spat on by society. The unfortunates who, for some reason, everyone decided it was okay to hate. He helps them get stronger, and they help him with his schemes.
Dagda Familia
Spoiler
Dagda
Dagda is a silly, fatherly man who loves to eat food, drink beer and make terrible jokes. Dad jokes, to give them their true name. And as we all know, 'Dad' originally comes from 'Dagda,' the G and second A getting lost somewhere in the back streets of Orario back when the god's first came to town. Fair warning: If he ever asks you to pull his finger, DON'T.
Dionysus Familia
Spoiler
Dionysus
Dionysus was amongst the first of the Gods to come down from the heavens. He then went on to successfully spend the next thousand or so years avoiding any and all responsibility. Mostly by spending the next thousand years or so being drunk. With a Familia of one Dionysus is one of the least influential gods, for now anyway. His recent move to start a Familia has some people a little worried and everyone confused. And also, has one of the smallest Familia out there. Unlike a lot of other small Familias though Dionysus is wealthy regardless of his Familias size. I guess when you are the god of wine you can make some decent money selling it for 1000 years.
Nyx is a secretive goddess of Darkness. She likes to stay hidden and act only by proxy. She sends her minions out into the word to be her eyes and ears while she herself lives in some unknown location, enjoyably passing her time making various hypothetical plans and schemes to shape the world in certain ways. She has plans mapped out for almost any situation. Though mostly it's just a mental excercize and not something she intends to act upon.
Kuebiko is a quiet, thoughtful God. Since coming down from the heavens to Orario he staked him claim on a paiece of land outside the city and never left it. Since then the city of Orario grew and spread, closing in and around his piece of land. His land remaining his the whole time. He eventually built up around his garden and his simple home has slowly grown into quite the large series of building. All built by his own hands.
Thoth is a strange amalgamation of a nerd and a frat boy. And the bros in his Familia are super on board with that. They love to learn. Even if it's useless info. Knowledge for the sake of knowledge. That's their motto. And yet, when they are done studying or discussing strange and interesting concepts, they party hard.
Baron Samedi is a rather... let's say capricious, god of death. And is very open to bribery. Especially when it comes in the form of his favorite things. Namely rum and tobacco. Rarely is he seen without a cigar or a glass between his fingers. He is really quite charming for a strange, mean looking god of death. Even those who don't usually like that kind of thing tend to find themselves enjoying his company.
Selene is all about appearances. She carefully sculpts and moulds the perceptions of others. Her words, her facial expression, her posture. Turning everyone into an admirer, and, if need be, twisting them to meet her own goals. And you can trust me on this, she has her own goals. As to her Familia she is extremely picky in choosing who joins. It's a very exclusive Familia, they accept only the best. An all female Familia filled with just a few beautiful women whom Selene believes can follow her own way of being. The only person who doesn't fit the mould is JACE.
JACE
Selene Familia's personal fashion designer. Selene really loves his work. Selene often rewards the great achievements of her Familia with an accessory or outfit made by JACE's own hands.
Info:
Spoiler
Valis: The currency of the realm. To give some perspective on how much your Valis is worth: One can buy a Jagamarukun or like a hotdog or something at 30-40 valis, materials for one meal at 50 valis, and a more expensive meal at a bar for 300 valis. A decent beginners dagger will cost around 3600 Valis, first armor set will cost you 5000 Valis or so, and a lowest rank potion costs 500 Valis. For 800,000 Valis you can probably buy a good house.
Magic Stones: Magic stones are the core of monsters and are always located in the chest area of the monster. Adventurers and Supporters gather magic stones to trade them for Valis at the Guild. Magic Stones have magical power in them that can be used for things such as lighting, water purification, cooking stoves, refrigerators, and other things. If one breaks the Magic Stone while in the monster, the monster immediately dies.
Drop Items: Drop Items are items that can sometimes remain along with the Magic Stone after a monster dies. They are parts of the dead monster and are used to make weapons and items and therefore are traded at high prices.
Adventurers: Adventurers are people with statuses that explore the Dungeon below Babel. Low Level Adventurers are Level 1 adventurers while High Level Adventurers are adventurers at Level 2 at above. Starting at Level 2, adventurers are sometimes called by different classes. Level 2 adventurers are Third Class, Level 3 and 4 adventurers are Second Class, and Level 5 and above adventurers are First Class.
Supporters: Supporters are people that explore the Dungeon alongside Adventurers. They carry many things ranging from magic stones dropped from monsters to spare weapons and items. New Familia members can serve as Supporters to older Familia members to gain experience in the Dungeon. In some cases, members of a Familia may serve as Supporters to the more experienced members.
Falna: Falna is the grace given by Gods and Goddesses to their Familia members. Adventurers and Supporters can gather experience to raise their status and grow stronger. The Gods and Goddess gave the Falna to adventurers to bring forth heroes. It takes the form of a tattoo on the Familia members back. These tattoos, or Falna, are considered to be a very private, personal thing. Kept hidden in public. The God or Goddess who granted the Falna to their Familia members can update it using blood. This is how Gods give more strength to their Familia. When the stats are updated, based on your experiences, then the Familia member will receive the benefits of those experiences.

I'm such a good influence, will get to work on something.

So the skills will be something the god (you) will determine, just like the series, eh? From the looks of cs as its now, we can choose a basic skill or whatever to start off with and then you'll give us our skills from then on?
While we fade away from the bustling market where our benevolent giant resides, we spend what seems to be endless hours winding through the unfamiliar cobblestone streets. Slithering through the labyrinth of darkened streets and narrow passages until in this expansive city, we reach a place where the light rarely touches. There, beneath a fickle and flickering lamp, sitting upon her throne that marks her the queen of the underworld with a cunning and seductive smile is none other than I-Am-X. Calmly observing us with a yellowed iris beset upon harrowing black, her fanged grin only grows wider as her fingertip guides the rod that stirs a tall, thin glass of suspicious looking Red Wine. Here in the Dark, we exist temporarily in her Kingdom. A place where the unsavory sorts can find sanctuary, a black market, and often the tools of death, subtlety, and subterfuge.
Sliding her sultry fingertip upon the spine of a book, the tome seems almost alive as it shudders and props open to a blank, but weathered page. Dipping a sharpened fountain pen in ink, she takes her mark upon the leathery parchment after a sip of her Bloodied delicacy. Not a moment later for us, the innocent-minded folks living upon the streets above, she describes to us her next devilish machination.
Okay. Just messed around looking at stat points and starting numbers and stuff. I think 300 points as your base gives a nice spread for a starting character. So I've added it in.
And yeah, X. I'll come up with the skills and such. Trying to keep it as simple as possible for the players. If you have ideas of the sorts of things you want to get though feel free to mention it. Also, everybody can start with a skill if they want. They can be the unique thing about your character or something. You can come up with those. Obviously I'll have to decide the limits on them though. >.<

How long exactly was 1,000 years ago? Considering that your average 'human' lives for around 80 years, I'd imagine it would be pretty long. Suppose a couple of human started producing offspring at the age of 25, a thousand years is time long enough for 40 generations of men to walk the Planet. And even in that absurd span of time, we still haven't get to the bottom of the dungeon that lies underneath Orario.
Amazing, isn't it? We, as a whole, are indeed so incompetent that the Gods decided to step down from their Pantheon and take part in our little play. Our little struggle are enough to rouse their interest, so much that they decided to bless some individuals and, through elaborate contracts, use them as proxies to dabble on our dungeoneering efforts. Again, quite amazing, isn't it?
Now, these 'dabbling' things the Gods do: they take quite a lot of form. Some mould their disciples into able combatants. Others taught theirs various crafts and arts. And a very limited number (with Soma probably being the most popular) use their Familia as a means to revel on their passion. My Goddess, Hel, seems to be a part of the latter.
She, as you probably have known, is One who governs over death. In fact, she is quite obsessed with it. She was, is, and forever will be, a leading activist for undead rights. She's working day and night to create a better impression of undeads. She made T-shirts, cosplay attires, and numerous merchandises to promote the undeads. Have you ever heard of "Undeads are living too!" campaign? Yeah, that was hers as well. It failed though.
Well, anyway, her latest attempt to boost undeads into an undying popularity (heh) was to create a perfect warrior to complete the dungeons. This project involves the creation of an undead with replaceable body parts that will get stronger by assimilating fallen enemies. When their body parts gets too old or too damaged, they can be replaced with stronger parts that the former salvaged from the dungeons. In case the brain itself becomes the faulty part, Hel would replace it with a fresh one, and despite having no experience, the body would technically be strong enough to sustain the brain's trials and errors by then.
And I, uh, yeah.. I'm the prototype of the aforementioned project. A completely normal undead made from the remains of at least 14 fallen adventurers slapped together. Be sure to say hi when you meet me. Remember folks, undeads are living too! *sobs silently*

I don't like messing with the CS once it's up, but I went ahead and did it a little anyway. Not much. I just added an 'Inventory' section at the bottom. So for anyone that's started a CS before I added that, you'll want to add that. Unless you don't plan of owning anything and/or having money.
Oh, also, I added some more stuff too.

Apparently the Guild gives new adventurers free basic gear. So you can start with that tier of stuff. It doesn't have to be from the Guild if you don't want it to be though. You can have a weapon of your choice (If you go for dual knives or sword and board the set will count as one item for this.) and free armour.

Bio: In the lands east of Orario, she was born into a clan of thieves, mercenaries and con-men (most of which were failed or mid-leveled adventurers). From the very moment she was able to walk and talk, Tama was put under training like all the other youths in her clan. Not to mention she was also promised off to the next heir of the clan, by her parents, when she was still only little. Suffice to say, she didn't exactly have an easy childhood. By the time she was 12, the clan started gaining notoriety in and out of Orario for their misdeeds and services (a number of familias were known to employ them for aid in explorations), along with a rumor that was constantly gaining steam that the clan was lead by a god but has never been proven.
However, as with most things in this world that acquire fame and power, they grew ever more arrogant and eventually overestimated themselves and daringly targeted a known familia within the city. That familia? The Inari familia, the one that was lead by the beautiful fox god Inari, whose beauty is said to rival that of Freya's. It was during a a battle outside Orario in which the Inari familia was in the midst of a fighting weak monsters as they were training their weaker/newer members. Hoping to steal all their loot along with making a name for themselves, by attacking and defeating a known familia, they ambushed them after the battle, with them being worn out from the fight, killing several. During that time, Tama, then 13, undergoing something like right of passage, joined them in the assault as a supporter in order to gain experience so she too can join in in future assaults.
Things seemed to be going well, well, that was until Inari, her right hand and a few of the higher members of the Inari Familia, who were returning from another location, returned and engaged the clan in battle. One after another, they began to fall, much to their dismay. Once enough of them were defeated, it finally gotten through to them how outmatched they were, they tried to flee but were eventually caught and defeated. Just as it came for Tama's turn, as one of the surviving members who were attacked, went into to strike, they were stopped by Inari, who was observing, herself. While she did save Tama from a final blow, it didn't stop Inari from unleashing a flurry of slaps upon Tama. In the aftermath of the whole affair, the clan scattered and wasn't heard from again. In the end, Inari, in agreement with the guild, decided that Tama's 'punishment' for her part in the affair would be a forceful recruitment into her familia.
It was probably Inari's way of showing the little Tama what a real Familia was like and what not. Though Inari let her into her familia, it wasn't an easy ride for Tama in no stretch of the imagination. While the higher members of that time understood Inari's decision and were welcoming, the others, on the other hand, weren't so welcoming of Tama joining. While their treatment of her approved over the years, the stigma of having been part of that clan stuck with her. Despite how she was treated by them, she endured it and took it as a form of atonement. Thankful for all that Inari did, she pledge her loyalty to Inari and vowed to become a proper adventurer and repay Inari for all she did for her.

Well, that should do it. I kept things vague (well mainly the name of the clan she belonged to because I really couldn't think of a name LOL) and hinted at several potential plot points should you ever choose to use them (her clan and the fact that they might've been lead by a god, like a shady/unknown familia, though its never been proven and thus a rumor) and the fact there's some that might be holding some kind of grudge/hatred of her in the familia and what not. Hopefully it's acceptable.
Boy do I hate writing bios/backstories. As for her personality, I felt it would be better to show off during the RP because tbh writing that down along with other crap just restricts what you're able to do and characters can easily change and act differently. But I will say that she'd be extremely loyal to her god and familia name (defending its honor and shittt) and might be a bit wild.

Bio: I was betrayed by the adventurers that I looked up to as heroes. Not directly, but it hurt all the same. I was, and I guess am, a street urchin. I have been for as long as I can remember and in all that time I was shown only disgust, pain, and sorrow. I used to dream that I would be picked up off the streets by a beautiful princess and I would live happily in a house of splendid wealthy. Of course that didn't happen, but not for lack of hoping. Instead of a beautiful princess I began to dream of a magnificent adventurer coming to my aid. For as people that work for the gods, they must surely be kind and giving people. Well they're not.
After years of working for an adventurer and helping her move farther into the dungeon. I gathered information and supplies for her (I never actually went into the dungeon). We were such good friends (I thought), she was like a mother to me(or what I thought one would be like). Then one day she killed something big in the dungeon (something I had stolen gained info about with great difficulty), gaining money, fame, and moving up in her familia. I thought ,here it is! Here is the day I've dreaming about! I can finally get off these damned streets and live like a normal child! But no. I was cast aside like so much rubbish, just thrown away and forgotten.
When I spoke to other adventurers they would either laugh in my face or they wouldn't believe a filthy street rat child had helped anyone with anything other than emptying their pockets. The latter would usually end up giving me a bating as well. So I learned to never speak of it, And I learned that people cannot be trusted. I can only trust myself. I also decided that these selfish, foolish, and cold-hearted adventurers needed to pay. But how?
I realized that the best way to hurt them was hit them in their pride and greed. I would get deeper into the labyrinth than any that had come before, and I would share it with everyone that has suffered like me and no others.

@X: I appreciate the few plot points left dangling. As I was reading it was like. 'I CAN USE THIS!' So that's always a good thing. Maybe I can wrap you up in the plot in some way because of that. I have a vague plot planned and I do always like to try and give people a reason to be involved in the main plot. You've done a good job of leaving some things vague. I like it. Accepted. You start with 3000 Valis.
@Fatal Blood: Nice to see you about on the batotos again man. And that all looks good so far. :3

Haha, I wasn't sure at first, I was seriously drawing some serious blanks regarding the bio but then I I remembered the kind of things Kitsunes were known for then went from there. Originally the part regarding Inari's familia I had was going to be in the dungeon, but then I remembered, God's aren't really allowed/shouldn't be in the dungeon and such. Then I was like fuck it, lets have it outside the capital. But I'm glad you liked it enough to give me 3000 Valis!
By the way joker, since you accepted, I'm assuming my skill is good. Anywho, regarding the skill, how much of an increase/decrease in stat points would it be to start off with at the current rank? just curious so I can put it in with the skill. =p
I like this. I like it a lot. It'd be interesting to see how you guys make another arc for the Danmachi series.
[tears of joy]
Woa woa woa, this even brought khrazy out? You know you dun good when you get him to post in your rps.
And hell ya, first accepted.

The Epic Of X:
Spoiler
I mostly just read what you RPers are up to and get quite the kick out of it.
We're very super-famous, super-famous.

Yeah X, I almost didn't allow that skill. They can get very freaking out of hand. So I'm gunna be honest, you aren't getting good conversion rates at this point. Though it'll be fine for the little bit of help when you need it. Which I think is probably what you wanted it for anyway. But with the ranking things I think I've come up with a way to make it more balanced and for it to grow in a nice and balanced way. Especially considering other people will be getting skills too. It should all work out. Here goes:
So at Rank I you can funnel one stat directly into another one at a 5:1 ratio. You have 120 Power, if you funnel your 50 Endurance into it, that becomes 130. On the flip side, funneling Power into Endurance makes that 50 into 74.
At Rank H you get better at it and can funnel multiple stats into a single skill. Whack everything into endurance just before that big thing hits you in the face. That 50 Endurance becomes 100.
I think I've explained it well enough at this point. Here is the progression chart you'll be on for that skill.
Rank I, 5:1 ratio, from one stat to another.
Rank H, 5:1 ratio, any stat change.
Rank G, 4:1 ratio, from one stat to another.
Rank F, 4:1 ratio, any stat change.
Rank E, 3:1 ratio, from one stat to another.
Rank D, 3:1 ratio, any stat change.
Rank C, 2:1 ratio, from one stat to another.
Rank B, 2:1 ratio, any stat change.
Rank A, 1:1 ratio, from one stat to another.
Rank S. 1:1 ratio, any stat change.
As you can see, Rank S is completely bananas. I believe it's named Rank S because it stands for SHIT SON I GOTZ TO GET OUTTA HERE!
Also, because this skill is like. Super awesome. It's gunna officially be a 'Rare Skill' so if you want to come up with a more badass sounding name for it you are very welcome to do so. :3
All this said, If you don't want to deal with all this effort I'm fine with it if you just want to pick a new skill. >.<
@Visitor: Haha! Man that gave me a fun idea. About the Familia of the god of poverty, trying to save up enough money to finally get him a roof over his head. They can just never manage to keep hold of money somehow.
@Everyone: Nice to see people are doing stuff and whatever. :3 I'll be adding more stuff to the first post thing today. Maybe I'll come up with some little CS's for a few Gods/Goddesses and stuff.

rofl sorry about man.
Ratios are indeed quite the headache.
would a 1:1 ratio entail essentially moving all stats into a single stat? 2:1 being half or so?
ugh, created a potentially powerful skill but simply calculating the returns each time will give me an aneurysm.
Damn I hate math.
Wish I can think of a potentially powerful skill that wont involve much math/effort lol
Well, I'll try to think of another skill or just decide to not going with a starting skill.

The ratios are not so hard really. 2:1 would be 1 point for every 2 you spend. So half, yeah. 5:1 is one fifth. I just used the calculator on google to divide stats by 5 and see how much points you'd get from it. So like 50 Endurance divided by 5 is 10. So you get 10 points in whatever you move it to.
Still, yeah, maybe it's more hassle that you want to go through when trying to punch something in the face. I'll leave it up to you.
