Bio: Hi! I am Jo! It is my pleasure to meet you! If you wanna know about me, it's gonna be a little hard because you are a peasant, *giggle*~! You see, I am the Crown Princess of the Music Sprites! Oh don't look at me like that you dummy, I really am! Nobody else really believes me, but I truly really and most certainly am! I was born from an egg fully grown a loooong time ago, and from there my subjects helped raise me! It was hard sometimes cause I couldn't "see" with my eyes. But my ears, an entirely different matter! Oh they were so full of excitement and love when I was birthed from that stone egg, they sang beaaaauuutiful music when I arrived. Their notes sprang forth with vivid colour, and filled the air with my laughter when I heard it. I was skipping around New Dale with them one day, and "saw" a music shop! Flutes, Pianos, Violins, Guitars! All the instruments you could ever think of! They were so easy to play too! Well, not at first *grumble*. But the Music Sprites helped me figure out what was called "keys" and "tones". I matched it with my voice and learned all the instruments I possibly could. Oh how we danced together all the time to our music, naked and free! But some meanie guys didn't think it was super fair I had it all to myself, some Demowhatsits they were called. They took me away to a locked room filled with my beloved instruments, to make music for them and say it was theirs. So not fair! We were there a long time. Until one day I decided I was bored, angry, and tired of the smelly room; I asked one of the guards to listen to one of my songs. He indulged me cause I am such a pretty princess, and fell asleep to the sounds of my flute playing. Then I heard with my princess senses the color of his life! It was suuuuuper neat, I never noticed it before. So I took my flute and BASH! I HIT HIM IN THE THROAT *teehee*! Then bash, bash BASH BASH BASH! He was dyiiiiiinnnnggggg hahahaah! It sounded so pleasant, and new! Nothing I had heard before! I bashed all the meanie faces that got in my way, and made beautiful music from their screams. It was so very fun~! I wondered then, how big a symphony of screams I could make, and then I- Hello there, friend. I am Jo. It is lovely to make your acquaintance. I come from a family of love, and wealth. My parents unfortunately were murdered by a criminal known as "The Mad Piper", so I never really got to know them. But that's okay for me, for though it is lonely; for some reason I enjoy the solitude. From my earliest memories I was surrounded by pretty pictures of our home. Soon, the money began running dry. But I always remembered the pretty pictures. I thought that maybe, I could draw copies and sell them. It was long and grueling work. But I kept doing it and doing it, and then I had a perfect replica! I was so excited. Then came the hard part, coloring it. I kept splotching the paints, and the colours were never really right. But people kept buying them all the same. Something happened one day though, when I was making something entirely new. I couldn't think of the colours to use. It was a self portrait, and I know better than any, what I look like. But I couldn't find the right ways to express it. I just looked so sad in the painting. This lonely girl all alone. I kept feeling the picture to try and understand what it was, and I cried; when suddenly, colour began filling itself on it's own. The vibrancy was of nothing I had ever seen before. Excitedly I realized I was a mage! It felt so natural, after that. The Wizard Union got wind of my abilities, and from there the money poured in. I changed furniture, gems, clothes, even buildings at the request of people. But then they got greedy, I just wanted to be alone, yet people kept coming and coming for my assistance in trivial matters. I soon found out I was in deep when a shady man brought me thousands of bronze coins, and asked me to turn them into gold. I told him I didn't do that, only changed the colour. He beat me for weeks till I caved into his demands. When I simply just changed the colour, he took his money, and promised to be back again soon. Rather than have to go through it again, I decided to- *wheeze* Ey'. I am Jo. You may wonder how I am speaking to you, being a tree. I just can. Do not question it. Trees are people too. I don't remember becoming so magnificent, and tall, and proud, but what tree does? I haven't encountered another tree quite like me. Unless you count this rather unpleasant being I met made of moss and reeds. My swamp brethren, I suppose. Must be lonely you say? Not really. I am flourishing no matter where I go. No. It's a very happy life. I taste and smell the sustenance that the sweet earth gives me. Oh and the rains.*cough* Excuse me. I must not be getting enough water these days. I'm starting to wither away. That's because I'm not a tree you say? Balderdash. I am a tree. Do not question it. Anyways, ever smell a spring shower? With all of it's color? It's so great to be a tree. Oh the lovely rain, washing over your leaves and bark, and settling into your roots. The vibrancy of life you smell and feel washing into you is..mmmnnggh orgasmic. Unlike other trees, I can move. I have more than once swatted at the passerby who try to urinate on me. It's not the water I want. Occasionally, I have to uproot myself for another plain. It's an exhausting business, and becomes harder and harder for me to keep myself straight. *hack* Oh my, I seem to have coughed out some of my special red sap. This hacking is unpleasant. Which is what I think this burly fellow intends to do to me with that rather large axe of his. Please sir, I'd rather not be cut down. Oh, you've never seen a talking tree? Well, then today is a neat day to start. Hows about you put that there axe down, and smell the fresh air with me. *inhale* Sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiffff ahhh, see how lovely that is? What? Trees don't talk? I'm not a tree? Please. I am a tree. See my leaves and bark? Do not question it. By the way, do you have any wa- HO THERE! I am Jo! Do you know what I taste on my mighty tongue? ADVENTURE! THAT'S WHAT! DOHOHOHOHO! Yes, the winds are thick with the taste of adventure. It is a deep and vivid green of freedom! I am a famous archeologist throughout the world and known throughout New Dales for my wonderful finds! With my trusty sand skipper and super radio, I move across the world to the next big thing! For some strange reason, I can navigate through the traps of ruins and dungeons with ease. I can see every trap, hear every beast. Tame them even, with a few savory licks of my lute! Ha Ha! Why even my cartography skills are the best! I can chart a ruin like no other! Don't get me started on puzzles either. I may be a loud and boisterous man, but I see those solutions clear as day before me! So come with me my righteous dudes, LETS GO LIVE LIFE!
Mutations: I have a rare eye mutation called Synesthesia, and so does all other Jo's. It isn't limited to just my eyes however, even blind I can still hear colours. I have all the same senses anyone else does. Maybe its heightened sometimes thanks to Jo, or maybe it's dulled thanks to other Jo. Regardless, I process all information with colour as well. Sights, Sounds, Tastes, Smells, and Touch are all processed as their own colours. I and all other Jo's also see colour where others cannot. Because of this, me and Jo's usually reject the established reality and substitute it with our own. I also might posses some sort of longevity. I am not sure.
Magic: To make simply put it into terms that you can understand, I am a Colour Mage. Colour is all perception. What one person sees, is different from another. Then you have some people who see it the same. One Jo said that I use my hands to swirl about the molecules of an object, or being; to achieve a different hue or pigmentation based on the known colour spectrum. Then another Jo says I just look at something and don't like how it looks, so I change it's colour to fit the emotion I think best describes it. It's been a topic of debate for some time how I do it, but utilizing the power of sunshine and rainbows to change the colour of something, into another colour is my favorite one. The fun part of it is, sometimes nothing has changed in the eyes of others, but to me, It's only a colour I can perceive.
Talents: From Jo, and Jo, and Jo, and Jo, and Jo, and...well you get the idea. I have amassed a number of useful skills. I am an adept mathematician, musician, painter and drawer. Cartography comes natural to me. I am also exceptional at surviving with no resources. I am versed well in the art of self defense and have a well toned body that makes me pretty resilient to just about anything. I am pretty quick, and am skilled as a contortionist. Enabling me to bend in slightly odd ways to avoid anything that comes my way. I probably have a few other talents I can't think of, but those are some of my better more useful ones.
Curse: I can alter my memories and persona to whatever I'd like it to be, but I forget what I changed them from.
Inventory: I, as a great adventurer have of course a sand skipper that I use to get around. I carry a long handled ballpoint hammer that I use to get out of sticky situations. One of the odder things I carry is a large "storybook". It has many empty pages, and is filled with all sorts of pictures and tales of many people, all named Jo. I have my lute, canteen, a sack of assorted gems and money, parchment and pens, some basic foodstuffs, a collapsible lantern, and a sleeping bag all in my pack. Be well prepared, they say.
For your consideration, Rogue~
