4/12/23 -Sato Public High School

The Empress

Aokakesu Haruko

The week the school had allowed the students to take off was taxing for Haruko. A great part was dealing with her new celebrity status. After the incident she was contacted by a member of Kouki Group, who interrogated her about what had happened. They asked her not to leave out any details either, so she told them the full story. However, by instinct, Haruko left out the cards, and the long nosed man. She felt in her gut feeling, that was a different matter entirely. They seemed to be satisfied with her story, and promptly left after giving her a stern warning to leave out the part about angels and monsters. Then unfortunately cam, the reporters. For days the Aokakesu Estate was hounded by journalists, and news teams trying to get the story. They wanted to know all about "The Heroine of the Moriyama Department Store" and how and why she saved all the students. So Haruko choose her story carefully. "Well, the truth is, I don't really know what happened. I was leaving to go to my part-time job from the entrance ceremony at Sato High school. When all of a sudden I blacked out. When I awoke, I was trapped by rock in the general appliance store with some of my fellow students. It was all very strange! Things got hazy after that and...I blacked out again.  Then when I opened my eyes, many of the people who were in the room with me had vanished! Save for Flashlight Helmet.  Also the lights were on our area of the store, and the bedrock blocking the entryway to the store was gone! By the entrance to the general appliance, were also a few shovels." Haruko told them all, not wanting to anger the Kouki Group.

"And just who was this Flashlight Helmet?! Is he your fellow student at the school!?" some inquired about Akio. Haruko, knowing his adversity to attention also decided to leave him out. It would make him feel desperately uncomfortable. So..."I am afraid I don't know who he was. It was dark throughout the Mall, and I couldn't see his face under the helmet, or the lights that shined at you when he looked your way. He never spoke, but we had a mutual understanding that something strange was afoot. In case there was more rock, we brought the shovels with us. Oh! If you are watching this Mr. Juria, I'll pay you back for the shovels! Anyways along the way, we heard pounding and yelling on the other side of the rock blocking the store entrances. Me and Flashlight Helmet decided to try and break it if we could. Curiously enough, as soon as our shovels hit it, the bedrock dissolved into ash. I'm not much in the way of geology, but I found that to be odd myself. On the other side, fellow students swam out of the store. Thanking us for saving them. Figuring in each store there was more, we set to work, and freed all of our classmates. This continued on till we had freed everyone from the first, and second floors. After that, there was a loud grinding noise from upstairs, and suddenly the wall exploded! Going through the wall, some how, someway, we all found ourselves back at the school. That's really all I can say about the incident, Now if you excuse me, I have a farm to look after."

Still, the reporters came and Haruko told them all the same story. Apparently the Kokui Group also found her tale to be acceptable, and ordered a large shipment of produce from the farm. This made up for almost a month of work, and helped alleviate some of Haruko's stress; though not nearly all. Students still came around to her job at Masuo Station, asking for autographs, or trying to give her gifts. But she turned most down. Mr. Juria, the Appliance Store owner actually came and reimbursed her for the purchase of Flashlight Helmet's equipment, her frying pan, and also waived off the IOU's for the shovels, and equipment that the others had taken. The main part of her taxation however, was from the Takahashi family. When Haruko had caught a bruised and exhausted Tomoe, she immediately yelled at the group who accompanied her. "Just what HAPPENED?! Tomoe-sama, are you alright? DID THEY DO THIS?" She said, rounding on the group. Most of which, who actually knew Haruko, quaked under her fury. But Tomoe calmed her down with a few decisive words. "Haruko-san...I'm okay, just had a little fall. It's thanks to them I even got out at all." she told Haruko, with stern in her voice. Haruko puffed, but drew her breath and calmed down. "If this is the case, I thank you for saving my Ojou-Sama. Should you happen near the Aokakesu Farm, I'll give you all a free basket of vegetables."  said bowing. Then with that, she turned towards the parking lot, carrying Tomoe like a bride; and deposited her into the truck. The ride home, was very quiet. Punctuated only with a few snippets of conversation. When they arrived at the Takahasi estate, Haruko then had to deal with the worst nightmare of all. Tomoe's parents.....

All these thought's weighed upon Haruko as she and Tomoe pulled up to the school. Haruko, not wanting to remember that at this precise moment, shook her head of them. As she and Tomoe walked through the school gates however, it seemed the students had something different in mind. Immediately, she was hounded by what felt like a million students, asking questions, and pushing letters of thanks, and what appeared to be love letters in them. "P-please! It really much! I have to get to class!" she tried to get out, but they shouted their praise and admiration over her stifled voice. "Way to go Haruko-san!" "You are my hero senpai!" "MARRY ME HARUKO-CHAN!" "Is there room in the agricultural club for more students?!" were just some of the many things they shouted at her. Haruko looked toward Tomoe  with a pleading look of desperation, whom just had a bemused smile on her face. "Tomoe-channnnn you traiittoor!" she pleaded out to her best friend, voice being drowned by the crowd. But all for naught, as she was swept around in the human whirlpool of students.

It wasn't until lunchtime, that Haruko was allowed any moment of respite. Soon as the bell ran, and before her fellow classmates could hound her again, Haruko sprinted off with the agility that was oh so desired by the track team. Going to the only place she knew that nobody could bother her, Haruko bolted into the Student Council room; and shut the door. Leaning against it, she swallowed deep breaths of anxiety. When she had finally regained her bearings, she sat down at the simple table in her blue plastic chair that was designated for the Treasurer. Then Haruko stopped for a moment, realizing what was wrong with the room. It was pure, serene quiet. Even at home, Sleep was the only time she had peace. Of course, last night was a gross exception to this. Haruko thought about the dream she had the night before. Once again, she and the people that accompanied her there before, were welcomed by the long-nosed man to the "Velvet Room".

Still veiled and masked, Haruko now had an idea of several of the people in the room now. They were approached by a beautiful woman named Rosemerta, whom asked them to check their pockets. Inside of hers and everyone else's was a simple gachapon. Rosemerta cryptically explained the nature, and purpose of these "artifacts". After they had opened them, the items contained jolted off into the unknown. “Bring those items back into this room, and we shall restore them to your proper form for you. Now then, a vision I must share with you.” Igor stated, the atmosphere getting far more serious as Igor flipped a card that revealed the tarot of "Judgement". Haruko didn't like the sound of that, nor the way that Igor spoke almost as if in mournful song. “Your foe is one who seemingly rejects everyone and everything in this world. He claims raw strength to be his sword and shield, and believes that with these weapons in hand, he will judge the wicked and raze the cruel.” then went back to his usual manner of speaking. “That is all I have to share of your future. Until we meet again.” he said to everyone. Then with that, Haruko woke up. Clutched in her hand, was the empty gachapon.

Haruko shooed away the thoughts for the time being. All she wanted to do was have a nice, peaceful lunch! So, she began digging into her simple bento of rice and ume, along with freshly steamed veggies. Though they had gotten some money, most of it went to unpaid bills, and repairs to the estate. "It'd be nice to have some sushi..." she mused aloud. Though, the fish and more had gone into the boy's lunches. Of which Haruko worked expertly and lovingly to decorate to their favorite things. Yuuto, had gotten sashimi in the shape of a sunflower over his rice with a relish making up the middle, Takumi's was a set of onigiri in the shape of different sports balls with various fillings. Finally the twins had omurice with the egg in the shape of a bear. But she knew that her brothers were probably excited by their lunches,so her musing held no resentment, only wanting and tiredness.

Halfway through her lunch however, Haruko felt the chill of someone watching her. Turning slowly, all she caught was the brief glimpse of silver hair. Haruko sighed, "Even here is no good it seems...but maybe I should go after them. I don't want to be harassed while eating in a few minutes. Plus, if it's a stalker, it'd be best to nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand." she thought to herself. With a practiced breath, instilling herself with serenity and patience, Haruko quickly put her lunch away, to follow the window-looker. As she did so however, her thoughts shifted unconsciously back to what happened with Tomoe's parents; and the real reason her week had been so taxing. Giving Haruko something to focus on, while she looked for the silver-haired individual as stealthily as possible.

CHOICE:

> Haruko has decided to seek out the stranger, before things get out of hand for her.

> Finish your lunch.

Aokakesu Haruko

Haruko was shocked to find Igor standing there against her truck. She supposed that she simply didn't notice him in her thoughts. "Well you certainly are fairly strong, Haruko-chan."  As if almost a practiced reaction, at the sound of his voice her eyes dried up, and she regained her usual composure. "It's rude to sneak up on people and eavesdrop, Igor-kun. But I appreciate your thoughts towards the matter anyways." she said, sitting up. "Sorry to interrupt, but did you too draw a card?" he asked softly, Haruko smiled at him. One reason she liked Igor was he didn't pry into other peoples emotions. Instead, focusing on the topics and tasks at hand. She nodded and pulled out her own card. Eying it, Igor continued on "I think I'll have to meet that friend of yours that heads the Occult Club. These Tarots are rather perplexing." he said, drawing deeply on his cigarette. "Airi-san could indeed know a thing or two about these card. But I have a feeling, ours are all different than the traditional ones that you'd find in a deck. Still though, she'd definitely be worth a visit to discuss the matter." Haruko told Igor. "But I doubt that she could tell us anything really of what we all just went through. The answers to those questions are of yet to come to light. Right now, I guess all we can do is speculate. at this point." she said with a slight shrug. Haruko gingerly got out of the truck, she was tired. Putting her cigarette out, she placed the butt inside of a container within her truck. She held out the container to Igor, and gave him a stern look. Grunting, he put his out and inside the container as well. Pleased, Haruko put it back inside her glove compartment.

She walked a few steps away from her truck and stretched. "It's getting late. I wonder exactly where Tomoe-sama is....Maybe she was in another group like ours in the beginning..." mused aloud, more to herself than Igor. But addressing him personally, Haruko turned to Igor and said "I am going to go back towards the entrance and see if I can't find Tomoe-sama. I will see you tomorrow! Tell your sister I said hello, and ask her how her opening ceremonies went. Oh and stop by my house on your way to the orphanage. The produce for you guys is packaged and waiting. Be safe!"  Haruko said Igor, giving him a small bow, and grabbing her bags before running off towards the hole they had all come out of.

Let's see.

Liar makes well formed posts and really utilizes his character well in any situation. The guy can bring it to any RP Tends to use ambitious characters with a penchant for proving ones self.

Rogue is mischievous, and likes to take the road less traveled. Making daring and thoughtful posts. He can lead you down a path that messes with your mind immensely. Skilled in a variety of different characters. He's also a SuperBadass.

Missy is very descriptive, and really paints a picture with her words. Nice, and clean writing style. She specializes in "highborn" characters. Also has a penchant for flashy sword moves and ice.

Slice(Dicedarg) is well rounded, and adds in a large amount of theatricality to his writing. Making for a unique experience. His characters usually have a background with much conflict, and steely resolution.

Britza has an almost methodical approach to his writing style. Making sure all his cards are on the table, then likes to flip said cards and yell "YOU HAVE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD(s)!". Guy has some mad skills. His characters tend to be unique in their own aspects as well, utilizing whatever is on the CS expertly.

L has a great flow to his writing. Making for a seamless transition from one event, to the next. Really fond of calm, collected, and "cool" cats in tailcoats. His characters also loooove katanas.

Pitou is the wildcard. She can do crazy like no other, but it's a more of a collected madness each time. It might seem random to a casual reader, but there is most likely a plot afoot. Devious this one is. Her characters can be varied, but thanks to Pitou herself, almost all are unpredictable.

I sadly am not familiar with most of you Batato peeps, so I can't really say much. But most of you all seem to be excellent writers.

Other RPers of note are Vaffles. He likes his smart pant's guys and good thinkers. He's a thoughtful poster. Then there's Emperor Time who let's face it, shouldn't require any explanation. Then there is a guy by the name of De Facto who is (other then some ho named Sangre) is probably the best writer I have met in my RPing experience. Shame he's not here.. OK is also pretty gnar as well.

Oh and this Sangre chick. I'd watch out for her. She plays a myriad of different characters in varying perspectives. I have noticed her posting style is very narrative most the time, but is very engaging. Her characters tend to have some type of tragedy associated with them, and you can never really tell what direction they are going to be going in. Her main thing is to try and keep everyone on their toes with her antics.

Oh, and Kiri is a hairy banana.

"Gardening With Maureen"

Maureen scried Ohmun with a critical eye, sizing him up. She still kept enjoying her meal, ignoring a moment Mu who had stood up. "Sit down boy." she told him with a polite, but stern voice. Maureen looked towards the chaos. She indeed had the best seat in the house. Ohmun spoke once more. "Maureen, I need your help." Maureen laughed and said "Oh Ohmun, what is it pray tell you need my help with?". He arched one furry brow as he spoke with a dry amusement.  "Ohh, any number of things no doubt.  I think though that...this should come first."  He pointed in the direction of the rising smoke and frightened screams.

Maureen nodded in the direction he pointed with her trademark grin. "Quite. That DOES seem like it could be ever so detrimental to the town. That, and the magic being fired off under the city." she spoke to Ohmun, gesturing with her teacup. "I ask you though, ickle Ohmun who used to wet the bed, what's in it for old Maureen hm?" Maureen asked with mocking amusement. "Surely you have something to offer me for my services, yes? Oh and don't bother with the 'I'll give you my life.' trick. This old witch already sees that is a useless promise, isn't it, dearie?" she said cackling, her red eyes glowing with knowledge.

If Ohmun was surprised by anything she knew he didn't say it aloud.  Wrinkles cross his weathered face as soft expression crossed across his face.  "Ahh, you never were one to follow the way."  The lids of his eyes shuttered closed as he let out a long calming breath. "What is it Maureen would want? What is it that could move her I wonder?  Baubles and riches she's had a plenty so what then could one so low as me have to give?"  The old lids opened again with a new life behind them. Ohmun simply said, "Secrets, Maureen, I offer secrets that pertain to what you hold dearest."

Maureen stopped mid sip of her tea, and let out a loud "HA!" and then simply smiled. Draining her cup, set set it down and watched it refill. "Oh you were ever always good at the game Ohmun. I see your talents haven't waned, if abiet wasted on your organization." Still grinning she said "Secrets eh?" and mused inwardly, to a time many years ago where she told stories to a child Ohmun. Tales of mystery, romance, and adventure. Tales, of her homeland and extraordinary life. Tales that only Ohmun alive, knew. "Well. I do suppose secrets that I personally would be interested in, are worth more than all the gold in the world. Hrmmm, yes. What I hold dearest eh? That is something only you would know little Ohm-Ohm. Very well. I accept your offer." Maureen said standing, and blowing on her staff. "What is it you would like me to do?"

Maureen walked the small magical circle she had made earlier. "I can eradicate your enemies, I can subjugate them; I can even vanish them from this plane of existence, if you'd like. I do so love contracts, and deals. As you well know youngling. State your terms, and I'll draw it up." Maureen smiled wickedly, pulling out a quill and scroll from her bag. "There are no enemies here or anywhere.  They are friends we haven't met."  The words were spoken with the weight of repetition.  A rhetoric he believed in and one he'd repeated beyond counting.  "The people suffer because they have had something stolen from them.  Find a way to return it to them.  Maureen, give them back their hearts." Ohmun said with a pleading look.

For a moment, Maureen said nothing. Dropping her smile and for the first time in their conversation, stared at Ohmun with full seriousness. "You always had a soft heart for a hard man." Maureen said softly to him. Touching his weathered face, Maureen saw held back tears. She sighed and then stamped her staff down, then; with a flash of light, plants all began to grow rapidly out of the circle she had made. "Very well. I will make these unknown friends of ours whole again." Maureen said with a kind smile. She spread the scroll over her bag and scribbled all over it.

The lines glowed purple, and arranged themselves into letters. 'This contract states that I, Maureen Northwind, The Star-Princess, will return the minds and hearts of the people of Luxen to normal at the behest of Ohmun, Sage of the Path; in exchange for information and 'secrets' pertaining to my better interests. Upon completion of the request made by Ohmun, Sage of the Path, the information that he has promised me, Maureen Northwind, The Star-Princess, will display itself upon the back of this contract, in the event of his inevitable, untimely, and unfortunate death.' it said with shimmering purple letters. Maureen signed the bottom in the same flowery script the contract bore, and held out the quill to Ohmun. "Sign sonny boy, so I can get this done." Ohmun then made use of his own staff to sign the contract, that he could only hope would save the people of the town he'd once considered home.  "What's done is done."

"Quite so!" said Maureen happily, placing the contract within her handbag. "Now then. Let's get this party started!" She roared and stuck her staff in the ground, it stood upright without any assistance. She began waving about her hands, yet as she did so they began to glow with green light, her staff too, shone purple under the runed bandages covering it. "Mu my boy, stand by me. I'll help you, if you help me. You sea, if you do well with my task, then I will of course be indebted to you for helping me gain the information I seek myself." she said smiling to the young Dryad. Rain had begun to come down. "Perfect!" yelled Maureen laughing with mirth, as she wove her magic around like conducting a symphony. When she did, the plants she brought up before began growing rapidly around the tree. Converging together, a large bulb appeared at the top of the dead tree and sat there, looking ready to bloom. "Mu, you look fast sonny boy. Faster than this old lady smacking all this magic together. Find the one who is bringing the rains. Tell them, to find their way here, and help me out. I have an excellent plan, all thanks to our tea from earlier."

"MEMBERS OF THE WAY!" Maureen demanded of Ohmun's people. "You protect this bulb and that fine and horned young lady keeping you alive, with your LIVES." she said gesturing a hand brimming with energy at Asta, "And YOU DAOMER, your name is Asta yes? Keep your wards strong. Should this tree fall, the whole plan goes to shit! AHAHAAHAHH!" Maureen cackled, and wrought more vines anchoring the tree. Now it was almost fully encompassed with vines. "Now we wait." Maureen thought to herself.

Super Fun Sexy Times With Maureen

A small girl twirled her skirts around festively to the joyous music that reverberated through the streets of Luxen. As she danced, she passed out small blue flowers to passerby; and wished them well. She danced and danced, while her family at the nearby flower stand clapped in tune with the music. It was the picture of happiness in a town surrounded by the misfortune of war. Except for..."Move out of the way you whippersnappers! I have a race to get too!" came out the croaked cry of an old woman pushing her way through the crowd. Pushing them aside with a tall bandaged staff, and a massive handbag; the old woman stopped at the edge of the girls dancing circle. The girl happily made her way towards the crone, and proffered a flower. The old woman drew her hood back and her gnarled face, with olive skin and long silver hair threaded with purple beads; and a ornate gold broach. She quite clearly was once very beautiful. The woman, already bent with age; leaned in and smelled the flower. "For you! Miss! We have more at our stand too! All kinds!" the little girl cried with joy. After taking a long whiff of the blue petals, the crone opened her mouth and *CHOMP* went down the flower. The little girl stepped back in shock as the old woman chewed thoughtfully. Swallowing, she let loose a wide, toothy grin. "Good flowers. Much love in them." she said, tousling the little girls hair. She walked through the dancing circle with no cares in the world. As she did so however, she stamped her staff upon the ground. Nearby, all the unbosomed flowers opened and shone with a beautiful air. People exclaimed happily, and made their way to the family's stand, trying to get some of the pretty flowers. The little girl however, just looked at the old woman's back as she disappeared through the crowd with a dumbfounded look. Letting the remaining stem of the flower fall from her grasp, onto the cobblestones. All that could be heard through the boisterous crowd, was the cackling of an old woman in the distance.

"Ladddddddieees and GENTLEMEN! Today we bring you the 53rd Grand Speed Hobbling Championship!" an announcer roared above the cheering of the crowd, voice amplified by magic. "This year we have a few previous winners in the pack of contestants! Defending her title we haveeeee........Helga Roth!" he yelled, as an old woman in bright green robes stepped out from the line of line of ladies, of whom which there was none less than 65 years of age. Helga waved and flexed her old muscles. "You people know the rules! The fastest old bitty to cross the finish line gets FIVE-HUNDRED REIMS and the title of CHAMPION! Isn't that EXICITING! Now as you all know, no weapons, or magic except your canes or walking staffs. But who's to say one of these ladies doesn't want it more!"  said the announcer with a lavish smile. "Contestants! At your marks!" the line of old women stepped forward, and took ready hobbling stances. Leg out, cane forward, back hunched. The stance, of a vicious competitor. A gong sounded and the announcer yelled out with enthusiasm "GO!" and the old bats, were off. "Annnnd Helga take's the lead swiftly! Gertrude and Mary-Ann are both neck and neck for second, with the other competitors close behind. Look at these dames hobble with such vigor! But wait, what is this?!" he exclaimed, seeing something tearing ass toward the start line. "OI! YOU BETTER RUN FAST YOU WENCHES! CAUSE MAUREEN IS A COMIN! KEKEKEKEKE!" she yelled with a booming voice, passing over the start line, and officially entering the race. "I DON'T BELIEVE IT FOLKS! AFTER FIVE  YEARS, OUR GREATEST TWELVE-Thats right folks, TWELVE!- TIME CHAMPION HAS COME LATE INTO THE RACE! Welcome now....MAUREEEEEEEEN!" the announcer practically screamed, as the crowd went nuts. Speed Hobbling is a big deal around here.

Maureen swiftly overtook two twins, Flora and Fauna, who were casing the back. "Maureen is now in this race! Taking fast the ones lagging in the rear! OHH! That must have hurt, Marueen just sent Agatha flying with a well placed tackle! What a race! Stepping swiftly around the inner curve she climbs through sixth, fifth, FOURTH PLACE?! LOOK AT THIS CRONE MOVE!" spoke the announcer with so much excitement, he looked ready to drop from dehydration from all the sweat pouring from his commentary. Maureen neared Mary-Ann and Gertrude, they closed ranks. Maureen sucked her teeth. "Nasty old bats! Still Helgas lapdogs are we?!" "WELL THEN!"  Maureen bellowed, reaching just behind them, and slid in the space between the both. Adding a little flick of her wrist, she toppled them both. Cackling wildly Maureen righted herself at the end of her slide, and set forth like a stalked chasing it's prey. "NOT THIS YEAR MAUREEN! I HAVE A GOOD THING GOING SINCE YOU LEFT!" Helga cried behind her. Maureen smirked and laughed again. "Can't stop this yo! I RUN THIS SHIT" she laughed, turning on her heel and running backwards, past Helga. Giving her the finger Maureen crossed the finish line. "WHHHHHHHAT AN UPSEEEEEEEEEEET! MAUREEN DECIMATED THE COMPETTION! In all my years supervising this race, I have never. Seen. Anything. Like. THAT! What a day! WHAT A DAY! People of Luxen, welcome your new CHAMPION!" he said, presenting Maureen with a sack of gold and a ribbon. Hand and staff in the air, Maureen roared with the crowd, and began to meander off; however not before giving Helga the nastiest smirk she could.

"Think it'll be enough?" said a voice from Maureen's handbag. "Should be. I really do need to find a new apprentice. This may be the best way. Of course, he can't turn down an old friend like me anyways kekekek" said Maureen out loud to her bag. The old dilapidated shrine loomed ahead. There was the man she was looking for. Ohmun. He'd grown up to become a fine man. It had been years since Maureen last saw him. But her Sight told her to come here and find him. For what purpose, she had decided not to divine. "Life is full of surprises, Jack. I wonder what this venture has in store for us." she told the bag, which purred loudly. She spied him, old now. Not young and spry as she remembered him. He was talking to a handsome young nymph. Maureen quietly approached the tree, and sat down, listening to their conversation. Taking out some cheese and biscuits, she sent a message with her mind to Ohmun to approach her when he had the time. Eating happily she stopped when the Nymph spoke of "ancient remedies" she laughed quietly to herself. "Boy. there's a cure for any illness. It's just a matter of knowing where too look. This might perhaps, be your lucky day." she said, still sitting and looking at the ground with a wide smile.
