the human who first created "Do what I say not what I do"

To which, of course, the obvious reply is "practice what you preach."

#242290 Comment Edit Button

I figure there are other topics about this (because it's kind of obvious) but I couldn't actually find anything using the search option at the top right.

I think there should be an edit button for comments made on individual manga, for the same reasons people would edit things in forums (fix typos, add information, add spoiler tags, etc.).

It would be convenient and helpful, not actually sure why there isn't one already.

#198227 Does Korean Manga feels off to anyone?

Posted by bushwhacker2k on 12 May 2012 - 08:06 AM

I've experienced it when I read some Im Dal Young manhwas for like 2 years ago. At that time, i do think all manhwas are pure crap(only garbage compared to mangas).

That's when before I have read Noblesse, ToG, Melo Holic, and other webtoons.

I feel like Im Dal Young should do the art but someone else should make the story, no offense to his fans but he always makes things kinda distasteful to me...

#196790 Does Korean Manga feels off to anyone?

Well, I generally look for actual intelligent conversation on topics like this, rather than "lol, i liek this manga(korean webcomic)" and the like (not that I necessarily disagree).

So:

I feel like in a lot of Manhwa (Korean Comics, not Korean Webcomics[I'm specifically not talking about Korean Webcomics, as I haven't encountered the same problem there. In fact it's been a fairly startling level of consistent high quality]) there is a general lack of empathy. It almost comes off as a kind of culture shock, like what I'm reading must be different from what the intended demographic sees. It makes it very difficult to read because generally I look for a certain level of empathy (basic genuine kindness) to connect with characters, and oftentimes I simply don't see any. It genuinely feels like everyone involves is either a complete douchebag or a sociopath, in that they literally feel nothing for other people.

Once again I'm not relegating every manhwa to this category, but has anyone else experienced this?

Speed Racer, I remember watching it in 1995 when I was 5, because he drove the Mach 5.

Good times.

#188774 Fetishes, i has.

Posted by bushwhacker2k on 04 May 2012 - 03:01 AM

Yes, I can honestly say that.
But I really don't get you. Is there supposed to be a connection between those two I wasn't aware of?

No, it's just the scale of comparison. It's like(and this is just my perspective, I'm not trying to say you should feel a certain way) being a stoic who can leave dozens of people behind him suffering without any emotional twinge, but then he's bothered when people like eating ketchup on things. It's like someone has reached a certain mental state but then he's bothered by something that seems kinda petty and insignificant. If that really is how you feel then it doesn't really make any difference what I think though, so don't be bothered by my statements.

Well then I'll be picking it up in about 2 weeks. I'll try to remember to let you know how it is.

If it turns out to be amazing I might be preoccupied though.

Buut~
It was MADE to be perverted !
It`s about fetishes, and i don`t want normal ones,
I want to read the craziest shit, so i can say ``This made my day!`` :batoto_024:

I'm kind of in the middle ground, I'd rather hear about unique and interesting ones but I don't want to know about the things that are just basically gross...

Petite red heads (NOT loli).

I like loli, but I also like petite(kinda pettanko, but small girls in general) and redheads are awesome.

#147576 Online MMORPGs

Posted by bushwhacker2k on 06 April 2012 - 04:02 AM

As an ‘unique individual with my own thoughts and feelings’… Just kidding, seriously though, while I do agree with you on a few points, I don’t think that level of paranoia is warranted. MMO’s aren’t a conspiracy created by ‘Big Business’ to destroy or defeat the average gamer. It’s a simple equation of supply and demand vs. profit by any means necessary.

My paranoia was never about corporations trying to control me, it's just paranoia that MMOs are ultimately never as deep as they can be because they're marketed towards mass audiences.

Not aimed at you, I hadn’t even gotten as far as the third page. Read the first two, guessed what would be on the third and decided to leave a comment.

Ah, okay, sorry if I came off as confrontational.

I’m currently playing CO and, honestly, it’s boring as hell. I’ve gotten as far as lvl 20 with the Mind (terrible healer btw) and I can’t imagine going another 20 lvls. I suggested it because I love the character creator; it can run on lower spec’d PCs and just because it wasn’t to my liking, didn’t mean it was a bad MMO.

Champions Online? From my experience this is far more interesting than most MMOs because I often feel like I'm locked inside a system where it's impossible to beat enemies with any sense of urgency and not trade 50 blows unless they're so far beneath me that I wouldn't get anything from beating them. In CO I can fly around and just nuke enemies, even ones around my level, and obliterate them in seconds. It may not sound like much but it's quite a contrast from most MMOs. The character creation system is quite impressive, much agreed.

I actually loved DDO(Dungeons & Dragons Online), mainly because it reminded me heavily of Neverwinter Nights. Had to give it up though because… Well, I guess because of the flashing lights, though I never noticed any. Still, after a half-hour, I was ready to throw up so…

It's actually really good and well-polished, so I don't know what it is about it that bores me... : /

Guild Wars is my all time favorite. I’ve never invested more money into a game franchise before or since. I definitely agree that it gets boring after a few months but… Damn, love me some GW! Fort Aspenwood = All day, Every day. xD

I like GW's system as well, I never got that far though and it does get boring occasionally but it's interestingly done.

Well now it sounds like I love MMOs but these are really some of the best of the bunch that I've played.

Honestly, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. I actually looked to see if there was a third post but… What is it that you’re looking for in an MMO?

I'm not sure I can give a good answer to this off the top of my head, if anything comes to mind I'll try to remember to post back here.

People whose sense of humor is based on making fun of other people :/

Fortunately I'm out of high school so I haven't seen this as often, but it really catches my attention when a group of people think it's the funniest thing in the world that so-and-so is insulting such-and-such... and that's the extent of their comedic knowledge.
