Name: Garm Vauxof Bernard

Age: 18 soon to be 19

Parent: William Vauxof Bernard

 

History:

   William, Garm's father, was once a street urchin living in the slums of Empyria. When the second crusade broke out, he volunteered to be a soldier under the employ of Lorcan the tactician. While not notable enough to be put into the history book, William did a good job during the war against the six traitor warlocks. For his service, William was granted a rank of nobility and was given the family name 'Vauxof Bernard'. Needless to say, this brings great joy and honor to him, and he passed down his great admiration of the seven holy knights to his children.

    Garm, William's youngest son, is very fascinated by this story, and decided to follow his father's footstep. Instead of living in luxury, he trained hard to be a soldier. On his 16th birthday, he applied to be a part of the imperial army, and is accepted. Sadly, the road to glory does not open its path that easily to him. There is little fight to be fought now that the war is over, and Garm didn't have a chance to prove himself. He is now stuck with his job as guardian of Empyria's gate, and wishes to have an endeavor that he could proudly pass on to his children. His one and only wish, of course, is to be able to serve his emperor in a great war just like his father did.

 

Specialty: Swordsmanship. Gram is well trained from an early age, and is one of the best swordsman in Empyria City Guard.

Skills:

- Archery: All city guards are required to have a basic skill in archery

- Cooking: Cooking has always been Gram's favorite past time activity

- Standard issued Imperial Army sword

- Standard issued Imperial Army bow and quiver

- Standard issued Imperial Army light armor

I have to agree with everyone, it is a unique and intriguing character. However, there are some continuity issues that I have to point out. The Second Crusade only consisted of the Princess of Light and the Thirteen Crusaders. There were none other that joined them. Also, at the time, the Tactician was a no-name young man who merely volunteered to join the expedition. And there was no actual war against the Six Warlocks of Dusk. They just betrayed them, and a battle ensued.

 

However, what I can do for you is suggest that your character's father worked for the Tactician after he returned as a hero. When he became Emperor, your character's father became the Emperor's lieutenant, and used him to carry out his deeds. His actions allowed him to be knighted and given a rank of nobility.

Interesting liberties you've taken with Yamato's character, and while I don't particularly mind, I hope it isn't abused. My only complaint is that the history is somewhat clinical in writing, and seems a bit disorganised. However, it does meet the requirements, and so you're accepted.

Yes it was 2a.m already when i started and done at 4a.m. So there was bound to be mistakes to what i wrote so i'm doing a rehaul on the bio.

I think you can choose being a descendant of the sorceress or the necromancer.

Well I meant to ask Liar if I could and Geo if I could impose upon his character a little, I'll definitely be The Necromancer so i wanted a get go from both of them, sorry for the ambiguity, I will not affect the story as Liar wrote the Aisha had a son, I would be make my character such that it was a gift from Death for her devotion to her husband and her mastery in Necromancy. Will it agree with your story Liar I'll add my bio after you give the green signal.

Maybe you should use Empyria as your character's last name. I believe Lorcan took on his wive's family name

~The Death's herald~

Name: Iblis AJšasin
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Grandparent/Parent: Ashia of the Dawn's forest.

History: As a being floating in the abyss, Iblis doesn't have many memories of his birth or real parents. Just that Death had always been a kind mentor, he taught him the basics of necromancy, how to use it to subjugate beings less powerful than him in his infernal realm, but Death was also worried about his childhood, he knew he was the reaper not a rearer.So when Death came to know Ashia and the hardships in her life, he thought his sister, Fate, may have pointed him to her. She would be the perfect one for Iblis, young as he was, he could use the nurturing hands of a motherly presence, he also knew that her necromancy will also help Iblis adjust to his new surroundings. So when Ashia had mastered Necromancy, as a gift for her being worthy, Death presented her with Iblis, with parting words 'He is the compensation for the one whom you seek in my embrace, but the one I cannot return'.
With this Iblis found himself in a new realm resulting in his transformation into a human look-alike of a kid of 11 years from his usual impish form, but it also wrapped most of his power in the other realm, far from his use. He came to know that he now had the motherly love of a wonderful woman, grandmotherly care of an even older woman and that he also had a half-brother. He hadn't bargained for the love he got from the three, he thanked his mentor everyday when his mother put him to bed, he learned the ways of humans and the world from her, but he also noticed the sorrow and melancholy that still existed in her eyes, a sorrow he vowed to banish.
But soon, his mother decided to leave Iblis, for the expedition when he was 13, she promised that nothing would keep her away from her two lights. Yet, he waited for her return which never happened. In his waiting he forgot about his younger brother and left him stranded, the desire to see his mother was so strong that he forgot the most important lesson she taught her, 'family always stays together', he left the young Gale, who was barely six to fend on his own and set out to find his mother, incessant and unfettered to find her at all costs. He journeyed to Dusk alone, determined to find his light, it took him 3 years to reach it. As a being of darkness, the weak creatures at the precipice were weary to confront Iblis, as he marched ignorant of his changing surroundings, at last he came across the remains of a fallen one, undoubtedly human, more so a female, his heart raced as a bad thought entered his mind. He was not far from the precipice, so the demons that gathered were not that powerful, though nothing could be said of their numbers. He carefully explored the area around the skeleton, there was a pendant lying in a heap pf dried mud and a staff lying not so far from it. He picked up the pendant, it was similar to the ghoul's talon like the one his mother always wore. now the reality seemed stranger than his thoughts, how in the world, Ashia of the dawn forest, the most skillful necromancer falling to beings of darkness, it didn't make sense, assaulted by the sudden pain of loss; which he had only fleetingly thought a possibility was turning to be the bitter reality, he sunk to his feet and started crying, the monsters which by now had become a fairly large host decided that they had enough members to take down this foolish one who entered their territory alone. The leader let out a howl and the host charged, charged on the sunken kid who was hit bu a deep sorrow. With tears of blood raining down his cheeks, Iblis picked up her mother's staff and charged the ones that would be the target of his ire. The staff was heavier than he thought, the host larger. Still, he charged blinded by rage, as the fight progressed it became clear as to whose in command. He drew strength from the memories of her mother, frantically chanting the spells he had learned, he hoped than her staff with resonate with him too.

Crreeaakk!! as a crackling wave burst through the staff hitting the nearest fiend square on the chest, he collapsed instantly. Luck had come to the rescue of Iblis and he had taken down the Alpha. He decided that he can't avenge her today, not being weak as he is,he will train everyday till an oppurtunity will present itself again. Thinking this he dashed to the mouth of the precipice, using the remnants of his strength to cast a final summoning spell, the one he learned from Death himself, summoning the Infernal ghoul, again her staff was the one that made it possible,for he didn't have the strength in him.Once safely outside the Dusk, he collapsed near a thicket of trees. Once he woke, the misery continued, her staff; the last memory; cracked in two. Aghast, Iblis removed the onyx that adorned the head and left the staff there. He knew her presence would remain in the staff, even if mild, it would attract Gale to it, if he ever wants to find her remains. He knew he had been a terrible brother; rather he had no right of being a human.

4 years later while travelling through a town, he heard the legend of the Princess of Light, of how she battled dusk, of how she was betrayed and yet found victory. Curious as to who dare to betray her, Iblis was shocked to know of the 6 warlocks, his mother one of them. He vowed to find the truth for himself, to avenge her death and restore her honour.

 

No one knew Ashia had a surviving son, let alone 2 of them, thus he was spared of the hatred that would have impeded other children of the six, although his skills were always looked upon with fear due to their striking resemblance to the capabilities Ashia had shown. But, he was known more for his helping hand to the down-trodden whose deaths or existence never mattered the royalty, he would occasionally visit far-off villages and reside in their crypts for a few days, granting a final audience of the loved ones to the departed. He was known for his kindness but his melancholic expression also kept people from getting too friendly, he hadn't forgiven himself for what he had done 25 years ago, he lived in constant guilt of abandoning his brother.

In time his darker abilities to came to light and he was given a fitting epithet, that became his sobriquet 'The Death's Herald' for the sheer mastery he had over the undead at his command. While new of his brother's exploits too reached his ears, his power seemed to be growing at a heartening pace as well which made him glad. He silently boded his time waiting for the time to regain her mother's honor.

Now 25 years later Iblis has the chance to be a member of the third expedition, hopeful that this banner would present a chance to meet his long estranged brother, the one he abandoned, he didn't have the guts to face him. but, maybe Fate would be merciful, as she was when he met Ashia.

Specialty: Summoning beings from oblivion to do his bidding. Using spells that siphon life to him.
Skills:
- Wisdom due to exposure to other realms of magic.
- Can defend well with his staff (learned from the monks he met on his travels) called 'Whirlpool stance of rising sea'
- Can consume his summons to gain energy, thus food is not a necessity
- Transformation to a wraith when resting or avoiding detection, thus doesn't take much space.
- Survivalist
- Can do a bit of nature magic to stop bleeding and minor healing
- Stealth

Equipment & Inventory:
- Eyes of Asur (The Staff), made from the Onyx taken from his mother's staff and another one from his travels, aides Iblis with the strength of his summons and their duration. The staff itself is made from bark of 'Corrupted Elder' that     grows on the North-west frontier of Empyrea.
- Death's Embrace (A cloak ), received as a blessing from Death, he wears this to enter his wraith state.


Relationships: Gale Kaloc (Estranged brother), no other acquaintances known.

Note: Iblis cannot attack in wraith state, he needs to materialize to cast spell. Wraith form can be edited if it violates rules
