Kayley may want to read this too.
As I was writing the bio he eventually just became a man of his own making... Rather than seeking redemption for his father at some point.

The Reckless Blade
Name: Valerius Lyon
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Grandparent/Parent: Eckhart Lyon, The Swordsman
Appearance: Valerius takes from his father, the strong stern build, but has the golden hair of his mother. His eyes have been commented to always see things beyond what they are, which is true... He has a lot of insight, unfortunately this only applies during the heat of battle. He stands at 5'10, which is only somewhat tall, weighing at around 78kg, his physique on muscle mass is lean, but not scrawny.
History:
Valerius was a boy who was talented with the blade, taking up the sword at the age of 8 he trained tirelessly, with no opponents. He increased the training at the age of 13, as he felt he had to be stronger for his mother, who suddenly fell ill when he turned 15. His first fight was against the village children, who jeered at him for being 'that man's' child. Frankly, Valerius was just sick of it and beat down the kids, who even brought a real weapon into the squabble. While he was punished for it and called a monster by the children simply for his superior skill, he didn't have another fight until he was 16. Valerius wanted to be a mercenary, he was beginning to grow tired of sitting in a village filled with idiots, and honestly he was disgusted at himself for resenting his mother for falling ill.
This all changed when he was 16, living at the top of the hill a ways off the village, he was one of the last people to arrive down at the village when the bandits attacked. A dozen of them at least, and by the time he arrived the village militia had been killed or completely defeated, and now they were just going around collecting valuables and women. Valerius arrived with nothing more than his father's old sword, which his mother claimed was from his own childhood days. With just that sword and very little combat experience he fought the bandits head-on. He was clumsy... Well... At first. With each second of the fight, how quickly he regained balanced and created opportunity, how quickly he began moving, scared the bandits, but they reminded themselves he was still an inexperienced kid. This was where they died. True masters of the blade are forged in combat, it was this fight that Valerius saw it all, how to move, how to strike... No amount of practice swings can teach him this. This was how to get stronger.
After repelling the bandits, the village opened up to him... He thought it funny, and kind of stupid that with all that jeering and hatred towards him and his family, they would open up arms to him after repelling some bandits who were pillaging them... But he didn't question it. After awhile, he made some proper friends in the village, most of which were probably just trying to keep him friendly so that they'd have him defend the village, but now he had someone to care for his mother in his stead, young village girl by the name Maria. These were good days, she of all the village children was the only one who showed kindness to him when they were much younger, and by her request he taught her swordsmanship. They planned to marry two years later, but the bandits from three years ago, his first fight, returned, and in greater force.
He fought them on his own, the village had locked themselves up, but the fight in the village was all a distraction. Up in the house, a small group went around to loot his house at the same time. Maria was there and managed to kill three of them before dying herself, and then the house was turned to ash by flames. Down in the village Valerius had already killed... Well, almost all of them, they were a great force of two dozen when they arrived but became a measly scrap of four when they fled. After seeing smoke in the distance they smiled and ran, but Valerius saw smoke, and despaired. He arrived to a dead fiance and mother, and burned home, and in his rage hunted the bandits down. It was a terrifying experience for the bandits... Very terrifying. He chased them throughout their cave network and had plenty of chances to kill them, but no matter where they went he always found them, until eventually they became too tired or scared to properly hold a blade, and that was when he killed them, using his fiance's sword as a final word.
He returned to the village, everyone had attended the funeral. Maria was a sweet girl to everyone in the village, and her loss was mourned greatly... After they were buried, Maria and his mother, he left, taking Maria's sword with him, the one he gave to her when she started to learn the blade... He named it "Maria", as to never forget.
At the age of 20 he began life as a mercenary, taking jobs wherever he goes, and reputation... Eventually his reputation as the swordsman as deadly as his father preceded him, and zealots occasionally appeared, trying to kill him, claiming to 'nip evil in the bud'. But blinded faith was never enough to defeat a seasoned warrior. His exceptional skill and continually rising fame as a master swordsman preceded him, and he was personally asked to join the Third Crusade. He refused at first, but when it was offered to him again as a job for a mercenary, he accepted. He has principle as a mercenary, to always separate personal affairs from business.
The offer was handed to him when he turned 26.

Sibling Version
The twin brother of Froja Lyon. Though she left at the age of 13, leaving him and his mother alone, he did not resent her for it. But blinded faith was never enough to defeat a seasoned warrior. He met his sister again at the age of 24 when she was on guard duty for some bandits, he was tasked with killing the bandits for their bounty on their head. In the end the two worked together to defeat the bandits, and became known as possibly the scariest duo the world has yet to see. Some compare them to the sisters, but similarities only go as far as synergy. They used blades and preferred the front lines. They were known to prefer force over finesse, and their blitz strategies have always been successful.
When they turned 26, their services were hired as part of the Third Crusade.
Specialty:
- Adapting Swordsmanship: They say true masters of the blade are forged in combat, this holds true for Valerius. Although the speed at which he learns the blade is matched only by his father. Over time he had reached the point where he could sense death, and avoid fatal blows once in awhile. He has a code also that a man's true blade, is their soul, and so long as their soul doesn't break, a man cannot lose. Through will-power, reflexes and honed senses, he is able to sustain combat with superior foes, quickly improving in the heat of battle, and eventually simply overcome them and win.

Renly Alastor: They only met directly once, and that was for classified information on a very notorious bandit that's eluded hunters and authorities for years, said bandit was called Garland. They do have indirect dealings with Renly's informants too for information.
