Thank you everyone!

 

 

 

Well, the Thirteen Crusaders are all NPCs; the main characters of the roleplay (i.e. you, the players) will be their children. I'll put up more information up later when I can.

 

To explain how the roleplay would work will be best answered by comparing it to a table-top RPG. Basically, I give you a situation, and your characters can do whatever they please within the parameters of that situation. For example, I pit the entire party surrounded by wolves. Your post will be dealing with the wolves, and/or interacting with the other members. Then I post the result of your actions within a certain timeframe (or when everyone has posted).

 

 

I'm not barring anyone from joining. All I ask is that there are some limitations on what kind of character you could make. It's nothing big, and I'll expand later when I make the profiles for the important NPCs. Although I'm curious, what kind of requirements do you mean?

 

 

Alright, I'm working through the profiles of the Princess of Light and the Thirteen Crusaders. Once that's done, I'll release the character sheet so people can start making characters. I don't plan to start until next week, but, hopefully, we can get some characters in over the weekend.

 

But, uh, does anyone have any questions right now?

 

Before I ask what I want to ask late, I have to say....this sounds like one awesome RP to be apart of. I think it's well put together. It kind of reminds me of final Fantasy, especially regarding "The Light" and the assembling of a bunch of "Heroes" to conquer the evil. I was going to ask if we could play the evil ones but since you've said the main characters will be the children of the original 13 crusaders and 6 of them turned against the princess, there'll be some evil ones.

 

My new question now regards the supposed limitations....well...it was mentioned about what the requirements would be....What if this RP gets to the point where all characters are filled but theres a lot more people who still want to be involved in the RP? Is there a chance that some minor characters/npcs or whatever can be made for the people who want to be involved in the RP but probably won't be too active, to which wont cut it for a main character? Which also begs the question...if someone who has a main character but ends up stops roleplaying and basically kills/slows down the rp?

 

Will the characters be replaced by more active players? Or if the people come back will they still get a chance to play minor reoccuring characters? Will there be a time delay in which you'd wait before moving onto the next event or whatever waiting for said people to post and participate or is there no time limit?

Of course I want to be a main character, before reading the part about we playing the crusaders kids, I wanted to play the child of the elder huntress twin. I guess I'd like to play one of their kids (who maybe happens to be twins, if theres another willing person wanting to be twins)  or be the child of the necromancer. The foriegner sounds awesome but either of the other 2 will be the ones I'm aiming for, especially the necromancer. Being the evil woman on the block sounds up my alley.

If people are willing, I'll allow them to be minor characters and non-playable characters. For example. I think I'll be willing to accept, for example, a character who is a knight sworn to protect this other character. That would be a little cool to have that. To the people that can't be too active, I think we'll find a way to include them.

 

However, if someone who has a main character ends up unable to roleplay, I may have to take control of that character. If the character is too unimportant (or has done not a lot), I may just off the character or have him slowly disappear in a way it doesn't break immersion or continuity. But I don't mind if someone gives permission to use a main character if they ended up leaving. And if people do come back, they can be a minor recurring character if they so wish.

 

As for a time delay...

 

I'll update once a week, and if everyone posts before then, it will be even sooner. However, if one week passes, I'm moving on ahead even if some people didn't post. This way the roleplay won't be dragged on forever, and we can move forward in the plot.

 

 

 

Okay with those questions answered, I have added the Princess of Light and Thirteen Crusaders profile on the front page. I also have added the Character Profile Skeleton, and thus I am now allowing people to make a character.

 

For story purposes, I am reserving the son of the Princess of Light and the Tactician. Everyone else, however, is free game. Please don't hesitate to talk about your characters, and make plans with others. If you have questions, don't be intimidated to ask. I'll do my best to answer.

Name: Frøja Lyon

Age: 26

Let's go with that.~ but, without the skirt and cape, and replace the sword with a halberd~ (May find a picture for that later)

 

History: Frøja, at a young age (about 13), fled from home out of pure boredom (perfectly legit reason). She very easily figured out basic survival skills, and never lived in a single area for more than a week at a time. At about 18, she 'settled' in a fairly large village, and made money making bets with some of the less ... 'desirable' people. Usually this involved hand-to-hand combat; she found it easy to be underestimated, and could win most fights very quickly. However, she gained a bad temper over the years, and was very easily provoked. She was kicked out of the village, and many others, for getting into brawls. During one of her last brawls, she stole a few weapons from the others; a sword and a couple knives. Going back to the traveling lifestyle, she practiced her sword- and knife-skills on large wild animals, petty thieves and the like. She eventually found and 'borrowed' a few things from another traveler; A simple set of armour (not too heavy, it didn't affect her mobility much), and ... a halberd. She 'practiced' with imaginary targets for a while, and eventually slaughtered many large animals (more than she needed to) and many of those 'undesirable' people. She gained a small reputation for being a mindless animal slaughterer, though she was oblivious of this. at around 21, a 'group' gained an interest in her and her skills, and she became a hired hand, doing simple things such as protecting goods, or annihilating groups that got in the way of her employers. A couple years later, she met a wise old man. He convinced her to take a more 'legitimate' job, involving a whole lot less slaughter. She took on some simple guard duty for a few years. For bandits.
---I don't know what else to put here, 'cause I'm not 'entirely' sure how she gets involved in this crusade thing, but with some help, I can fill that in.~ But basically, she's a guard until her involvement. Obviously, she's not exactly a "goodguy(-girl)" <:

 

Specialty: A surprising amount of strength for her size, with great skills with a halberd.

Skills:

one a little out of practice with ordinary swords, though she still has retained some degree of skill with them.
Wild survival skills- I don't know exactly how this RP'll go, so who knows if this'll even be needed lol
Anger - Probably not a 'skill,' though, get her mad, and she's a whole lot more dangerous.

Minor thieving skills, though not used for a few years. (The knowledge is there, the skill is not~ (if that makes sense))

 

Equipment & Inventory:

Light armour (refer to the picture)
Halberd
A couple knives attached to a strap on her leg ._.
A small pouch on her waist, to hold things such as a small amount of food, or 'valuable' objects.

(Might add some more if I can think of any)

 

Relationships:Basically, none at all.~

History: Where to start? Well, let's get the obvious out of the way shall we? Yes, I am the the son of Alastor the Bard. One of the six warlocks who betrayed not only the empire but the world itself. For what? I'd imagine wealth. He always did have quite the sticky fingers. Right bastard he was I'm sure. Least that's what everyone tells me. I don't much care who he was or wasn't. I like facts. Did you know the likelihood of a survival for a son of a single mother in the slums? Twenty-seven percent. Now subtract one mother due to plague. That number drops to thirteen. Ironic yes? I found that particular statistic quite enjoyable, but yes my mother did die of a plague a few years after Alastor died. Have you ever seen someone die of the plague? I mean up close. Very nasty business. Lots of fluids going out from all ends. Distasteful doesn't even begin to cover it. Where was I again? Ohh right talks of my childhood.

I did what I had to do to live. I stole, lied, cheated, and killed. Didn't particularly like the bloody bits but there you go. I survived and lived long enough to get out. It's not impossible. You just have to clean yourself up and talk all respectable like. Ohh yes, I didn't have much time for hobbies so I decided to educate myself. I'm no genius but I find my wit is a good deal sharper than most of those who call themselves high class. I figured what's the point of stealing from those who have nothing when I could be taking from those who have altogether too much. A confidence man is what might call me. Burglar as well. I am both of those things and good deal more as well but at the end of the day I always come out on top. Do you know why a lowborn, orphaned son of a traitor like myself prospers? Where others falter I persevere. When the going gets tough I carry on. You nobles have so much to lose that the very chance of defeat gives you pause while I on the other hand have had nothing. There is no loss for me. Everything comes up Renly.

That was then though. Now? Well I worked quite hard and eventually made quite a bit of money. Can't become a noble though what with my lineage which is irksome so I decided to take my father's name as my family name. Looking back now I wonder if that might not have been a tad rash but I was rather angry and more than a bit into my cups. I do get the best reactions at dinner parties though when I introduce myself. Ohh how they gasp and scatter as they try to reacquire their thin veneers of civility. Very amusing I assure you. Of course, this noble front of mine is just that a front. I'm still quite the criminal with all my ties to the lower quarters and the less reputable types therein. Indeed, I find that after years of doing the dirty work I no longer have to do it myself. I became a kingpin of the shadowy underworld without even realizing it. Honestly, I'm just as surprised as anyone. I never set out to become one but at the end of the day can you really walk away from something like that?

The answer is no my friends and to be frank I rather enjoy it.

Leah (Bastard Sword) - A lovely sword I picked up off the corpse of one Sir Raleigh. He took something important from me once and so I returned the favor. With interest.
Cindy and Mindy (Matching Daggers) - Wonderful knives with bronzed hilts shaped into the figures of my favorite whores. Always were better as a pair.
Throwing Knives - I always keep a few tucked away on my person. Very useful.
Poison Vials - Never leave home without at least one tucked away. Infinitely dependable.

Tyr the Grey Wolf

 

 

 

Name: Tyr

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Parent: Freya (The Valkyrie)

 

Appearance: Tyr has a head of messy grey hair, an abnormal hair color that could be attributed to his bloodline. He is roughly 6 feet tall, and has a fairly lean musculature, developed from living in the harsh lands of The Winter Marches. Tyr wears a large white fur-lined cloak that his mother wore during her unification of the war-mongering tribes that inhabited The Winter Marches; underneath this he wears  light leather armor lined with fur that is decorated with various tribal symbols and teeth of the violent native creatures of The Winter Marches. Tyr's skin color is, like all others from The Winter Marches, a pale white due to the lack of sunlight caused by the near constant snowfall. Tyr's body is scarred from battles with the occasional tribe that decides they should break off from the union, as well as fending off attacks from wolves, bears, and other indigenous creatures.

 

History: Born to Freya, The Valkyrie, one of The Seven Holy Knights, Tyr sought from his birth to become someone worthy of carrying on the bloodline. He was somewhat isolated as a child due to the other children having difficulty relating to him, as well as his odd grey hair. Tyr never knew his father, as he went missing some time before his birth during the unification of The Winter Marches tribes. Tyr studied under his mother in the ways of utilizing a spear in combat. Tyr proved fairly talented at wielding the spear, as one might expect from a child of the most well known spear-wielder in history. Unfortunately, Tyr had a large amount of difficulty utilizing all of his potential when wielding the spear, and his mother deduced the problem when she saw him practicing his own techniques. It wasn't a lack of skill, but rather, the weapon wasn't quite suited. It needed a slight modification for it to be something Tyr felt more comfortable with. Freya then commissioned a weapon to be made for her son, one that would hopefully help him escape from the hole he had fallen in. This weapon, was the glaive. While it was very similar to the Spear, it was less suited for stabbing, and more for the slashing movements that Tyr seemed to prefer. Tyr took to the weapon nearly instantly, and adopted a self-taught style relying on fast, wide sweeps. The resulting technique was something likened to a wild dance of some kind, but instead of beauty, it inspires terror as it slashes apart those caught within Tyr's 7 foot long glaive, either cutting with the 2 foot long blade or smashing with the 5 foot long shaft. Tyr gained a reputation as an enforcer of the union his mother created; ruthlessly crushing those who would stir up trouble for the peace his mother fought for. He was dubbed "The Grey Wolf" due to his grey hair, his wild fighting style, and the dire wolf that was on his cloak and was a symbol of his family. When the call for the Third Crusade echoed throughout the world, Tyr eagerly set off for Empyrean; eager to prove himself, as well as meet the woman whose charisma captured his mother.

 

Specialty: The Wild Wolf's Dance (Tyr's own spear/glaive style)

 

Skills: 

            -Survival (specifically, winter areas, however the skill can extend to most climates)

            -Archery (basic, can hit a target that is pretty close most of the time, but has little chance of hitting smaller targets at far distances.)

             -Heart of the Wild (Tyr's spirit is similar to that of the dire wolves he got his title from; his wild demeanor can shake those with weak convictions/will. Though distrustful at first, his loyalty is unshakable once earned.)

             -Axe Wielding (A common skill in The Winter Marches, Tyr isn't particularly good at using his axe, and only uses it as a last resort or for encounters that are disadvantageous for the glaive [ex. narrow corridors])

 

Equipment and Inventory:

Glaive: Polearm given to Tyr by his mother. It means a lot to him.

Cloak: Fur-lined cloak worn by his mother during her campaign to unite the tribes of The Winter Marches. Has the family crest, a grey dire wolf, on it.

Leather Armor: Light-weight leather armor with fur trim that can be removed when in unsuitable climates. Easy to move in, but doesn't offer very much protection. Tyr has to rely on his technique and speed for defense.

Axe: Small, light axe that isn't anything special. Mostly a back-up weapon, but can be thrown in a pinch.

 

Relationships:

 

Sashya - Childhood Friends - Daughter of Artemis the Huntress; Grew up in The Winter Marches, it was no surprise that two of the descendants of humankind's saviors became fast friends. Sashya is easily Tyr's best friend, and someone that has earned his indomitable trust and loyalty.

 

Aera vi Empyria - Daughter of Lorcan and Sera, Tyr met Aera 5 years ago when he accompanied his mother on a trip to Empyrean. They met while Tyr was exploring the capital for the first time, and Aera had snuck out into the city. They had a casual conversation as Aera showed him around the capital, and Tyr took a liking to her. They agreed to meet again next time Tyr visited Empyrean. Tyr is unaware that she is Aera vi Empyria

~The Lone Traveler~

 

Name: Gale Kaloc

Age: 31

Gender: Male

Parent: Aisha from Dawn's Forest

 

History:

Gale Kaloc, the son of The Necromancer. He loved his own mother, she was beautiful to his eyes. He was inflicted by the departing of his father, and the sadness he saw on his mother's eyes. He knew of his mother's affairs with the witch, giving her the power of necromancy. Secretly, he studied the arts on his own. He tried to find many kinds of information he can to learn about such art. He wanted to help his mother, he didn't want to feel like he was being a burden alongside his step-brother. His step-brother name was Iblis, Gale barely knew of his origins. His mother went back home, alongside him and he was to be treated as his own brother. They where happy, but the two were too much to be fed properly.

 

But soon, his mother decided to leave Gale to the expedition when he was six, she promised him to come back. Yet, she never did come back. Gale waited for days on end for her return. He was hungry, and was suffering alone. As Iblis forgotten Gale, and he was left to fend for himself. He embraced the loneliness and he was crushed by his mother's disappearance. He went towards where the witch was. Perhaps, maybe, that the witch would help him. The witch was fond of his mother, and she accepted to take care of Gale. She taught him about necromancy and the darkness of the land, and much to her surprise, how interested Gale was to her teachings. In Gale's mind, he knew that there where two types of darkness. The darkness that you embrace and enjoy when it's night, and the darkness that corrupts the world's mind. Then he understood that light can do the same. The light that gives off warmth and love, and the light that blinds you from the truth and corrupts the mind. (Note: This could play a vital role)

 

The witch told him the fate of his mother as well. Gale was devastated, but he was sure that his mother had a reason to betray them. For he knew his mother well, and someone like her wouldn't do that. So, once the witch told him as much as she knows about the art of necromancy, Gale took off after 15 years of being with the witch (He was 21 by that time). He yearned to know the truth, and he yearned for more knowledge about the arts and the world around him.

 

His presence wasn't known to the world, only has a lone traveler that walks alone with the dusts of his black cape that shields him away from reality. He was fabled as a grim reaper, for his cloak and his scythe gave him the impression that he was. Legends and fables originated from him, but no one knew his true identity. Even so, he wondered if many people understood that even the light can be bad, and the darkness can be good. Or he was the only one to believe that, and the people would call him a heretic if he stated his beliefs. 

 

10 years later, or 25 years from the second expedition, he still wandered. He learned many things, and his knowledge of necromancy was at near perfection. The third expedition was called, the words spread around the land, and it reached the ears of Gale. He was ready to follow his mother's footstep. He knew that he was going to find the truth in that expedition, and he will do whatever it takes to find out about the darkness and his mother's fate as a Warlock. 

 

Specialty:

Gale specialize in the arts of necromancy. He can easily summon undead minions to do his own bidding. He is also an expert fighter with his scythe (it's also been specially made for necromancy as well)

 

Skills:

-He's wise and knowledgable from all his travels.

-He is strong and agile thanks to many trainings and arts he has learned from his travels as well.

-Other than necromancy he could do other magical spells but not as well.

-Great at bartering and surviving (Due to him being a lone traveler)

-Can do parkour

 

Equipment & Inventory:

-Exodus (The Scythe). It was specially made from the remnants of his mother's staff. It's capable of aiding Gale in summoning the Undead and combat. 

-Specially made leather gear (Like the chest piece in the picture)

-The fabled black cloak

-Pouch containing potions, scrolls, a book of necromancy, and a book of magic.

 

Relationships: He is mostly unknown to the world, so he is not affiliated to anyone in a good or bad way. He is a loner and anti-social, he will not talk to anyone he isn't fond of. He has a step-brother that came from the unknown, Iblis Ajšasin, who abandoned him, causing a little sadness inside Gale.

 

Notes: My character will be extremely neutral.

The Silent Storm

History:
Born as the blood descendant who inherited the skills of one of the greatest martial art practitioners of the orient & the descendant of one of the traitors who planned to plunge the world into darkness, Renmutsu had a bitter-sweet life. Living life in hardship and ridicule, Renmitsu weathered thought the caressing touch of his parents. His dad, Yamato's son had taught him the way of the sword, how to fight and how to survive in nature's hands while he received teachings on basic education and household work from his mother. He was also taught on good moral values and a particular saying that he took to heart. This life setting was only short lived for at the age of 15 he lost both his parents for a fire broke out in their own household while he was on an errand at a neighboring town. Homeless and no one by his side he scoured the land for 2 years living on with what little he had until he was found by Yamato's old friend/rival Vermillion.

Vermillion was an owner of a famous martial arts dojo that raised many prominent warriors. Seeing this, Renmitsu took the opportunity and trained further. Under Vermillion's personal tutelage he got pounded everything his master knew. And in 6 years time he has surpassed Vermillion and now inherited his armor.
Having left the dojo he travelled the world, and what would be a sheer coincidence of fate now has arrived at Empyria.

Specialty: Iaido(though having prowess for swordplay, it is known that his full capabilities are fully utilized in flash draws)

Garm Vauxof Bernard- On his arrival on Empyria, Renmitsu was on the verge of death because of health deterioration and hunger. In that moment Garm welcomed him to his abode and took care of him. Out of gratefulness and respect he formed a friendship with Garm and promised to repay him back for his good deed.

You say we can play as children to any of the 13 crusaders but you marked off some, that they had no children so that leaves like 10-11 of the crusaders. Now, If we pick a character that was part of the holy knights, they're strictly bound to being on the good side or if say, one of the holy knights had multiple children then one can take the place of the evils sides warriors that didn't have children right?

I'm on my phone, so I'll answer X's question before I look at characters. No, you are not bound. Just make what you want, and have run with it. Also, for Stoufferry purposes, it made no sense for the Handmaiden and the older Huntress to have had children.

History: The daughter of the Holy Knight "Artemis The Huntress", one of the 7 great heroes of the 2nd holy crusade, Rayne was always pressured and expected to follow in her mothers footsteps, the youngest of the huntress twins, footsteps in becoming a Holy Knight and serving in the 3rd Holy Crusade. But while she loved her mother and was proud of all that she has accomplished in her lifetime as a Holy Knight, but to follow in her mothers footsteps and succeed her in being 'Master Of The Hunt' while serving the delusional and naive people of Empyria was not in her plans. Throughout all the years of the never ending swarm of maggots and their cheap words of flattery, a deep-seated hatred of the people and holy knights grew evermore in her heart.

 

She focused all her growing hatred into her training, pushing her limits and becoming the strongest she can while trying to gain some sort of peace and closure in all this. Praised endlessly for her relentless work ethic and her skill with the bow that more than rivals that of her mothers. While admired by many for her seemingly unnatural talent, it also caused her to be ostracized from the other kids her age out of sheer jealousy leading her to shutting off her heart and keeping to herself. Since a young age, Rayne was always fascinated with and took comfort in the sword, as it was one of the few things that brought her a sense of joy.  She always found the time to practice sword fighting, however the praise for her skills with it, the fact that a woman wanted to be a swordsman, especially being the daughter of the Great Artemis, was mocked and rediculed. Rayne couldn't tolerate all prying eyes, the heavy weight of expectation and the seemingly disregard and mockery for what she had actually wanted for herself, any longer. She had to get out of Empyria and fast, if she had any hope of freeing herself from this fate she was bound to.

 

After a year of biding her time in service of the Empyrian military and rising in rank, seemingly doing what was expected of her, her squad was sent to patrol the eastern border. Rayne, just coming off her 18th birthday, finally decided it was time to flap her wings and fly the coop, so to speak. As she was about to be spelled on her patrol, she was no where to be found. The soldier, that was to take over for her, reported her disapperence to the commander and began the search for her only to be found making her way down to the wall that seperated this land from the next. Within moments, the squad caught up to her and surrounded her as a heavy mist filled the air. Demanding an explanation as to why she abandoned her watch, she stood there only to say "I'm done with this false existance. I refuse to live the way you want me to, I refuse to take orders from anyone, least of all you. You can try to stop me, but to what lengths and what cost will you go through to achive it?" she finished with a smirk.

 

Appalled by her actions they took out their weapons with a slew of them not able to restrain themselves from laughing at the sight of an archer, surrounded at close range by swordsmen, acting like they're the ones who should be scared, no matter how gifted with the bow she is. Just as they closed in, with the mist ever so present and a lick of her lips, she pulled out a sword and within moments she swiftly massacred them, washing the morning mist with their blood. Just as another squad came to relieve them of their patrol duties, they were greeted in horror to the sight of their comrades mangled corpses and the blood stained mist that lofted over the area with Rayne nowhere to be found. Soon word got around Empyria of her savaged act of betrayal, one all too familar of that of her late aunt Diana and a call for her head quickly followed suit. She would foreverly be known as "Rayne Of The Bloody Mist"

For close range, Dual short swords attached to each of her forearms by a specifically made gauntlet, sharp and durable.

Which one? Swordsman's son seeking redemption? Take it I'm not glued to the idea, just didn't see it up here and thought that was a waste.

I was just going to make the Swordsman's son.

 

Was thinking of being Froja's twin brother, she made a child of the swordsman already.

 

His story would've been that he wanted to follow his own path of the sword, seeking redemption for his father would have been a primary motivation but since he's 26 when the RP starts, by that time he'd have decided to simply follow his own path and not let others get in his way.

 

Also he's... Very reckless.

 

I may just run with the soldier's child.
