If you guys are suggesting that MC is Maou... then, there is a possibility you guys are wrong... if what the magic sword said is correct... If the first Maou is the MC, then shouldn't he have memories overwritten by the previous jump... which means the MC couldn't defeat Maou because he is himself... which isn't the case... therefore i assume the previous Maou wasn't MC but another person entirely....

The branches he hoped from and to are similar to how time travel in Steins;Gate was actually just changing world lines in a same Attractor Field, assuming the World Line Convergence (the end result of all timelines) here is the invasion of the Demon King; if our Hero averts that, or worse, set it off earlier (hey, it's a possibility), he will change Attractor Field. He sufer through hell after lost all his beloved friends/ families (he lost everything), so do you think he can come and kill half continent people (let all the continent suffer same fate as him)? And don't forget his determine when he plan to become hero

By the way, different from other Manga, the Demons here feed on Human flesh, the Human can't become the Demon Lord (how a human can control the Demon ? and if he can control the Demon, get them kill themself will save all Human and easy reach his Goal without loss).

I think this is just ORIGINAL Hero-Demon Lord like in the past manga/anime/ Dragon Quest, not other twist plot new Manga/Anime.
