Well it is a comedy manga, so it would be reasonable to have a joke ending..
On god that ending it was worst than negima's , with only one chapter and hata wants to make this beliable XD, sometimes the travel is better than the destination.

it was tearjerking, then she told hayate to sell her organs so he could pay off his debt. He then proceeded buy out the sanzenin through his side job as a day trader, and after becoming a rich arabian oil baron he lived happily ever after with the best girl (a certain student president
) the finale is about his possible tax fraud
My new theory into that manga is that after retiring, marshawn lynch got a job in japan and got a little too excited behind the wheel of a large vehicle meant to ship large amounts of items at once. He flicked R3 a upwards a little too hard.
So hayate was supposed to fall with whoever saved him on x-mas or something like that? Pretty anti climatic, i would say.
