If it was to be like this... ahahahaha! But we have yet to hear anything else about the movie :/ I hope it's high-production.

I would say Re-take of Evangelion did a pretty fucking good job of staying true to characters, story, atmosphere and that unique feel of NGE.

#668641 How to regain the normal sleeping habit?

Posted by Will of NGE on 10 May 2013 - 09:04 PM

Normal sleep? What is that?

Honestly, I fall asleep when I'm tired, not when I go to sleep so I can get up early. So it's something like month of being an owl, month of being a daywalker. Cycle goes on.

#662525 Mind helping me a bit?

People... less lists, more recommendations!

Code Geass is definetly great, although there will be quite some laughs about "YES, MY LORD", and other related :P And Lelouch can be very theatrical :P But it's not meak and it doesn't mind killing the main cast, so it will contain a few welcome shockers.

Never watched Cowboy Bebop.

ToraDora... most definetly. It's very fun and entertaining, it has no actual fanservice or echhi, so it's even save-for-viewing if there are younger viewers. Plus, the romance doesn't end up unresolved like in almost every other anime. (suki da yo)

Darker Than Black, oh yes. Season 1 is fantastic. And the ending of Season 2 falls in the TOP 10. Even the drawing style is mature, and the only "children" that hang around are dolls, and NOT genius 10 year old masterminds that easily outsmart any adult EVER.

Neon Genesis Evangelion would be a pain to watch xD Not for the weak willed. NGE is not something you recommend, rather introduce to and give tips and advice on how to watch it, to minimize brain damage from all the fucking it will recieve.

Wolf's Rain, now that's something worth watching. It can be tiresome and depressing, but I strongly believe it's a worthy watch.

Spice & Wolf, even though it skips one Light Novel, and stops with Season 2, is a very enjoyable watch, and I never tire of conversations between Horo and Lawrence. It's trading oriented anime, so there is no much sword swinging, and yet it's easily on the TOP anime lists.

Death Note, what not to say about it except that Episode 7 has one of THE FUCKING BEST MOMENTS in the anime history. Anime drops in quality after Light losses his memory, but it still keeps you interested. It's a real pitty what they did to Misa... victim of fanservice or something.

Trigun. Lots and lots of fun. Didn't like it as much as I thought, but I guess I was expecting something else.

Guilty Crown it is still good, and it's not trying to do what it can't do. I loved the plot twists a lot, but I disagree with the ending, the roles should have been switched.

However, these all take 8 to 16 hours to watch. How about movies?

Ghost in the Shell, classic like no other. Fantastic music, think-about moments, existentialism...

The Place Promised in Our Early Days is something I heard a lot of praise about from my friend, and I will watch it tommorow.

Princess Mononoke, another well known classic.

That is how you do it! :D (pats himself on the back)

I just found this little piece. The moment I saw it it felt like I'm watching Neon Genesis Evangelion.

You can feel her disgust, disappointment.

The link you're about to click on seems to work as an auto-download for me. And you will have to copy all three lines and paste them in the adress bar, seems to be the only way it will work.

EDIT: I won't post a thirt bump, instead I'll just edit this post.

Escapist always hides the gems, this is the newest one xD

#660773 Is it Manga?

Posted by Will of NGE on 07 May 2013 - 02:02 AM

Manga (漫画?) are comics created in Japan, or by Japanese creators in the Japanese language, conforming to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century.[1]

A number of artists in the United States have drawn comics and cartoons influenced by manga. As an early example, Vernon Grant drew manga-influenced comics while living in Japan in the late 1960s and early 1970s.[79] Others include Frank Miller's mid-1980s Ronin, Adam Warren and Toren Smith's 1988 The Dirty Pair,[80]Ben Dunn's 1987 Ninja High School and Manga Shi 2000 from Crusade Comics (1997).

By the 21st century several U.S. manga publishers had begun to produce work by U.S. artists under the broad marketing-label of manga.[81] In 2002 I.C. Entertainment, formerly Studio Ironcat and now out of business, launched a series of manga by U.S. artists called Amerimanga.[82] In 2004 eigoMANGA launched the Rumble Pak and Sakura Pakk anthology series. Seven Seas Entertainment followed suit with World Manga.[83] Simultaneously, TokyoPop introduced original English-language manga (OEL manga) later renamed Global Manga.[84]

Francophone artists have also developed their own versions of manga, like Frédéric Boilet's la nouvelle manga. Boilet has worked in France and in Japan, sometimes collaborating with Japanese artists.[85]

You know, from what I've read the second season (at the time) had almost brought the anime version up to the current content of the manga. But I really don't know, I know the manga is still running and is also very popular, a new tanko volume was just released and sold over 225,000 in its first week..........so yeah, hopefully like you said it's just a matter of time (and more manga being written :D)

And yeah, Fooly Cooly, short but soooo awesome.

Ihihihihi :D
