Both Flat and Gakuen Babysitters have sweet and adorable little kids.

#825618 Walking Position of a female partner

Depends who's taller.  The taller one breaks a path through the crowd for the smaller one to follow in.

#825616 Character Archetypes you hate the most?

-The assertive girl who yells a lot and insists she's strong but keeps falling on her bum or gets in a tizzy all the time, which is a cue for someone to sooner or later flip her skirt JUST to make her squream.  And then we must suffer it.  Author: if you want to make this strong girl look weak and adorable, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!

-The perv who's friends with the MC, and suggests he peep on the girls when they're changing, which we know will end badly for the MC.  WE KNOW HOW IT WILL END, SO SHUT UP; YOU'RE NOT FUNNY.

-The girls who like to sleep naked next to boys, so that the boy wakes up to find said naked sleeping girl next to them, and then he's flustered and embarrassed, and the girl's like "Eh? Why are you embarrassed?"  Believe me, no girl who lacks physical awareness to that degree would have skin and hair as nice as hers.  And she would probably stink, because she never bathes.  Incidentally, girls are generally more sensitive to cold than boys, so she did NOT strip because her PJ's were too hot for her.

#825585 A way to filter latest updates

Posted by Shamune on 09 August 2013 - 09:05 PM

What about a way to make it so that you can mark individual series to not show up in the latest chapters feed?  I know for me, there are some series I'm always clicking on because I have a bad memory and the thumbnail looks interesting, but it was one which I dropped a while ago because I didn't like it.  It would be nice to expunge them so they don't keep showing up.

That way, you can give a series a chance, but if you don't want to see more chapters of it showing up in your feed in future, you can tick it off.  Or in the OP's case, if they clicked on it and saw genres they didn't like, they wouldn't have to see more chapters for it showing up in their feed.  I have something similar in place for my mangaupdates feed, where all the series I've dropped are marked with a blue dot, so I will stop clicking on them because the title looks interesting (rather than blocking a whole genre, because I might find some gems).

And I have no idea whether it would be feasible to implement or if it's already been suggested and shot down, but it would be nice :P

#787431 MoSt sTyLish Character Ever Drawn??

First I think of is Mamoru from Until Death do Us Part.  The ridiculously skilled blind swordsman who seems to never give a **** and rumor has it he's in training to take over Chuck Norris' spot.  And he's got shades.  And battle scars.

#488461 Stop randomly adding the shounen-ai tag! Taggers, please read!

Posted by Shamune on 05 January 2013 - 07:12 PM

OK, I should have probably put this in the "hosting issues" part of the forum, but if I did, I don't think many people would probably see it.

I've been seeing lot of shoujo series with male friendships in them being tagged as shounen ai. I've been untagging them, and they get tagged right back again. I don't know if it's one person doing it, or several, but it needs to stop, because it is misleading other readers.

In case you don't know, shounen-ai is used (amongst fans outside of Japan) to refer to maleXmale ROMANCE between main characters, or one-sided romantic feelings of a main character. It usually has little to no sex, whereas ones that include sexual content are tagged as yaoi.

Now, just because YOU interpret the characters as being in love or having a crush on one another, doesn't mean they are. Friendship, admiration, camaraderie, respect, and even hugging, do not automatically mean romance. Until the series depicts content that is unquestionably romantic in nature, it is NOT a shounen-ai.

And if you really need to know, use mangaupdates.com to check what magazine the series runs in. If the magazine has few to no BL (yaoi/shounen-ai) titles, then it is probably not meant to be one.

Thanks for your cooperation!
