Approved. Just want to let you know that to flag chapters for deletion, unapprove and rename them to something like "DELETE."
Other than that, have a lovely day.

Basically - just do it.
From my own experience, here are a few "mindsets" I've developed about translating:
1) Recognize what's important.
Make sure you get meaning across. How do these characters feel? What will add to the reading experience?
Ultimately, you can afford to make mistakes or roughly translate in sections that are not essential.
2) Your time is valuable.
The more people you have working on something, the more communication delays there will inevitably be.
For that reason, I avoid dedicated proofreaders and quality-checkers. Have your redrawer / typesetter go over it.
3) Make purposeful mistakes.
If you're ever unsure on what the translation for something should actually be, go with your first thought!
Then, go back and check for consistency when you're done.

@raveysas @Kusunoki
Great to hear some input from some contributors. It's been over 9 months since I started this thread - lots of iteration over time has definitely helped me to improve / refine my scanlating process. I think I'll need to post some new questions to help me get even better, heh. The hard part is gonna be coming up with them.
Anyway, when I translate a series from the very beginning, I get really invested into it. There's always doubt and ambiguity involved when you translate a series, and I think what causes problems sometimes is that people don't realize that they aren't reading the original story. They're listening to me telling a story that someone else wrote in my own words, subject to the tinted lens of my own head-canon. (e.g. - Yue Hu and Lin Mi are the total OTP of Fairy Captivity, hands down. Shi-Jie and Shi-Xiong should totally go out sometime and date, amirite?)
So... I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I really want people to understand a bit more the process of what goes into a chapter, for me at least - I always enjoy a good chat about scanlation. It's what I've spent hours and hours doing over the past ten months.

Hiya folks!
The original Saiko+ announcement.
I'm not really sure if Batoto receives money for the banner. Would be nice to see Grumpy post an official release announcement to follow up.
Feel free to message me about the Saiko+ arrangement, if you're interested in knowing what my experience is with it as a translator.

Has anyone ever had experience with a "Fraud translater"?
Like, your translater doesn't know any Japanese, Korean, or whatever language and guesses based on the panel context.
If so, give us the story on your suspicions and how you caught him/her.
This sort of situation is probably highly unlikely, but i think it would be pretty funny if one actually existed.
I once tried translating Japanese and Korean using Google Translate - what a massive pain in the ass, trying to sort through that mess.
At least with Chinese I have at least a 50/50 shot at getting it right. :3

Could you, by any chance, post one of them? I'd love to try and add to it and what not. In exchange, I'll give you an excerpt from something stupid I wrote last year.
Chapter One
“‘Sup.” said Bert.
Bert is a man-child. So is Will. Will is Bert’s best friend. But not that kind of friend.
“Hey brah.” replied Will.
Will was overcompensating for his lack of moxie today, Bert thought.
“Dude, it’s bro. I’m not a piece of lingerie.” retorted Bert.
Bert was being an asshole today, Will thought.
“Brah, why you gotta be so salty?” inquired Will.
“Nah man, salty ain’t me.” announced Bert.
Bert and Will are total bros again. Their misunderstandings are only at surface level.
“But we’re not brahs, bro.” declared Bert.
He had paused too long. The tension was growing. So they went to the corner Sev’.
“Mountain Dew?” they said at the same time.
“Fuck yah.” they yelled, not skipping a beat. Bros for the win.

I don't recall seeing such things on /r/manga. Are you referring to other subreddits?
I'm fairly certain Bato.to is not integrated with reddit, so your group may be out of luck regarding such things.
