Also, I recall an image where they were talking of upper floor monster rankers and one had a wing like Horyangs with multiple wings a lot more like the wingtree sign.

I am colour blind so that does not help lol... bottom left of image with the ten crests. Rotate the image so that the wing faces up and you can see the only thing he is missing is that circle thing and his wing has one fewer feathers... it is a different colour but then again his wing changes colours.

Baam uses shinsoo so he can be mr, Yu han sung's son. You can't relate someone because he had ability or use the sword. 75% of the tower i'm sure they know how to use a sword. and 100% knows how to use shinsoo

Just read 2nd part translated and it was pretty cool. Being familiar with both MS and ToG, guess I could understand and appreciate both sides of it.

Also, the person that faced off against Viole is the Black Mage, basically the embodiment of evil in Maplestory. His hooded robes and the dark floating chains behind him are his signature design features, while his more human figure and facial features most likely were a remodelling from SIU. Someone speculated it was a Battle Mage, but that's kinda a generic class, and he'd prob have goggles instead of the hood and be using yellow/blue/dark auras.

*shrugs* It seems pretty darn similar to me - I do not particularly like Horyang much so I do not overly care about him - however the wing on his back is VERY similar to the symbol of one of the great families, I assume (merely an assumption) that those symbols or family crests are not chosen at random but instead have some meaning.

By the way, did you guys notice this is actually a group of five classes vs. the five ToG positions? Androssi (<3) is Fisherman, Rak is Spearbearer, Koon is ofc Lightbearer, this new guy's the Scout and Viole the imba Wave Controller. TSTT (The Strongest Tag Team)

Hmmm. I've read through the comments and I'm still not sure what's going on. So Maple Story is an MMORPG, set in the TUS universe? So the second link is like fan service non-cannon stuff, or is this a fight that has happened before the current return of the Prince arc, or will happen later?

Edit: so looking online it seems maple story isn't TUS but just some random game. Then why has SIU drawn this, is he or his fans really into MS or something?

When you look at the last part of the comic, it looks like Viole is hiding, you know, helping from the shadows - Androssi doesn't see him, and Viole/Baam stands behind that thing/building - so for now they don't know who it is 8D it will all be one big surprise! 8]

And you do know that there doesn't need to be a reason for not useing a certain charactor? it could be that this was just something he felt like doing xD

Was the translated version already posted? I'm a long time maplestory player, but a recent Tower of God reader, so I didn't pay any attention to this before, lol.

The Guy Baam is fighting is Luminous who has been tainted by the Black Mages power, and is the 5th hero in Maplestory.

As mentioned on the wiki, the "Koon" person and Ran share the same resemblance, and are likely the same person. I'm curious as to why SIU would use Ran in the crossover, albeit with different hair color...

To be honest, I think that was an early concept for Ran, and he made a few changes upon actually introducing the character in ToG. However, that he'd fleshed him out well ahead of time is obvious (and, possibly indicates we'll be seeing a lot more of him).

From the looks of it, most of the characters and plot arcs are actually penned in. Or, at least, written and drawn using a 4B pencil.
