Do I have to be gay or a heterosexual female to like this show?
No offense you guys talk like it's such a good show..
You just hear fangirls the most because we're so loud lolz
If you enjoy a very well made show, then just watch it :3

This is the reason why Moriarty was such a good character when he had less than 10 minutes of actual screen time in series 1 (not including the hospital) . Spoilers for the ending of series one btw

I'm a heterosexual male and Sherlock is the best television produced in the last 5 years at least, there isn't any actual gay subtext people like her are just projecting what they want to see

Sherlock gets 3 BAFTAs in the acting category, best actor for Benedict Cumberbatch, and best supporting actor for both martin freeman and andrew scott
IMPOSSIBRU CHOICE D:< PICKING BETWEEN JOHN AND MORIARTY... X.X
I'm rooting for John just because of the start & end of Reichenbach Fall. If it wasn't for those, I'd go for Andrew Scott, his performance in season 2 was sooo brilliant. And his accent sounds better ♥

My friend ships Sherlock/John so much that she got me into the fandom.
I've ever only read novels, so this is the first TV series about Holmes that I watched.
I must say, I love how they modernized it. And their choice of actors are real awesome.
I think I'm also a Cumberbitch now... D: (My friend told me that's how his fans are affectionately called?)
But he really is quite charming!! *A*
I must also comment on the amount of fanservice between S/J.
No wonder my friend enjoyed it so much. Not that I didn't.
EDIT:
No, you don't have to be a "fangirl" to enjoy this show.
The show is really amazing, from acting to cinematography and effects.
And it actually stays true to the novels.

specify which one you're talking about, the american travesty with lucy liu or the BBC program that got better ratings than the moon landingI tried it, but I didn't like it to say the least. The 'modern' aspect of it completely ruins the story and the genius that is Sherlock Holmes in my opinion.

The modernisation of it is what makes Sherlock unique. There's countless Victorian Sherlocks, but only one 21st century one. (American shit doesnt count)
If you look closely, it truly is faithful to the original Conan Doyle Sherlock, just 'modernised', 'as it was viewed when it was written' in Moffat's words. If you've watched the extras and the interviews you can see how passionate Moftiss is about SH, and how teeny things (Vatican Cameos comes to mind) are from the original.
Well w/e, if yoy want Victorian then just go watch Downey Jr

To be honest, I can't think of a television or movie adaptation that I've enjoyed. I guess I just hold a special place for the books.

Have Dexter hunt down Sherlock, but not before the dispatching of Watson.
