it's really awkward because i'm trying to re-follow kubera on the official, but at this rate, it's 4 years behind for me... :'(

glad they're fixing the translations, though. yeah i used to have the line play with gems app,, but again too bulky. i wonder how many of the downloads are just download uninstall for gems then :'(

The translation flows pretty well now, I think! "Muscular spandex pervert." I totally lol'ed. xD

 

Re-reading the earlier chapters like this really reminds you of how light-hearted the series was at first. Readers reading it for the comedy have no idea what's up ahead. xD

My nitpicks for Episode 10:

Brilith's name has been spelled wrong for the last five episodes!

"face expressions" should be "facial expressions"

"second to no one" should be "second to none"

"no human or even gods" should be "no human or even the gods"

"Now, I know how the boy who cried wolf felt." shouldn't have that comma

"magicians can track down people's locations" sounds funny... "a person's location" would sound better

The red text (Asha's threat) is nearly unreadable and, I dunno, the wording is awkward.

The playboy comment needs to have "but" removed

"For sure" twice! I don't think anyone has used that phrase since the 80s.

 

I'm glad they got the ID card line correct. I remember when the original TC translation missed that.

 

I figured they wouldn't go with "Cataclysm", and "upheaval" is how Google and Bing both translate it anyway. Can we get used to "N0 Upheaval"? hahahaha

 

Also: Lorraine's name was fixed in Episode 9, but the translation mistake in Episode 8 is still there, where they have the mushroom seller saying he'll take one mushroom skewer (eh?).

Really? Brilith's name was spelled wrong? *staa....* You're right, it is spelled wrong. I don't care about her that much so I skimmed over her name. xD

 

Heh, I noticed some of the same things as you. But seeing that they are relatively minor, I'll take that as a sign that they did improve. xD

You're really good at proofreading by the way, better than I am. xD

The part with the ID card was corrected in the TC redos though. but right, it was wrong at first (and there are still some mistakes in the chapters that weren't redone)

 

AAHH "Brillith" drives me crazy xD sounds like something you would use to mob a kid with glasses on... (sounds like "Brille" in german XD)

I feel like instead of Idiot Smith they should've said John Dumb or Dumb Fool. I feel like "dumb" is more passible as a name than the other words we have for "stupid."

Grammar mistakes are creeping back, slang is creeping back (instead of using 'cause for everybody, would it kill them to use 'because', 'since' or 'as'?). And that Mr. was outright wrong. =__=

The grammar for the most part is okay, but from time to time there are some big obvious mistakes like extra words and such.

Huh, Line Webtoons seems to be testing things out. It's released several new series recently. One is very short and complete, another is complete and mostly behind paywall (which should make paywalls impossible). There is also a webtoon from a Taiwan artist.

The one thing they Aren't doing is accelerating releases of series that aren't up-to-date. They seem to be trying everything Except that.

On an unrelated note, they've released some photos of various female webtoon artists (Currygom not included, of course), and I can't help but notice how pretty all of them look. I actually find that disturbing, because it reminds me of South Korea's obsession with cosmetics and plastic surgery. D:

I somehow doubt authors had plastic surgeries, because... frankly majority of them they are all year around stuck inside home otakus . I think its probably a half day make up.

This means they may care more about what Chinese-speaking readers want than what English-speakers want.

Just wait until nastikas show up in the story - then all sadness when they discover it's not GL either will be forgotten.

See the 3 lines in the upper-left? Click that to open a menu. Click the gears, and you can change the content language (the second option). Once you've chosen Chinese, you will access the Chinese version of the app, which has different webtoons and different comments.

^ Thank you a lot, Mizura! So then, it seems the majority of the users are from Hong Kong and Taiwan, but we can't be sure. If there were different apps, one way to know would be looking at the number of installs.
