“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Town of Sanctuary! We are ever so pleased that you have chosen to live in our little community. As you no doubt have already heard, Sanctuary is a small town in the middle of Nowhere County. Set between the Joshua Mountains to the north, and the Coral Plains to the south, Sanctuary is home to a little under 15,000 people. With a strong cultural bent -- i.e. high numbers of museums, art galleries, theaters, and historic sites and the like -- Sanctuary has made it into the top ten of the '20 best small towns across America worth visiting' list, three years in a row -- and counting.
The lower-brow attraction (and arguably, the bigger draw) of course, are the infamous Sanctuary Lights, which were first sighted way back in 1883 and remain a mystery even today. Of course, if the sound UFOs and our burgeoning art community doesn't wet your appetite, have no fear! Our beautiful urban and rural space, the peaceful nature of our area, government professionalism, and citizens' involvement make for a caring and friendly community. Honestly, why would you want to live anywhere else.
Speaking of safe, I must warn you that, while yes, there is a military base set in between the toes of the mountain, feel free to ignore the local gossip about secret experiments, government projects, and such going on at the base. The soldiers stationed there are all Christian men, and women, doing the good Lord's work keeping America -- and our community -- safe. And no more need be said about that, then that!
Please browse our web site for information on our facilities, parks, services, and local & regional links. We are sure you will find something that interests you from our many programs, seminars and recreational activities. A Newcomer's Package is waiting for you at Town Hall. Our office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday thru Friday. Again, on behalf of the community, we extend our warmest welcome to you.
Sincerely,
Candice Buncamper
Town Manager
Important Locations in Chapter Three
Spoiler
The Military Base
Originally above ground and established by the government way-back-when to investigate the Sanctuary Lights, the military base was quickly moved below ground after an alleged helicopter crash fifty years ago. This new base is now home to almost two hundred US soldiers, and scientists. What they do up there, nobody knows for sure. But skeptics claim that the crash, nearly fifty years ago, was the government actually capturing a real-life UFO.
Whatever it was, after that day, the old base was abandoned and a new one built under ground. The only entrance seems to be the mouth at the front, facing Sanctuary. Heavily guarded, patrolled, and rumoured to be booby-trapped on all sides, the mouth is fenced off and protected from the outside world. But is all that security meant to keep people out, or something else in?
The Hospital
Built ultramodern with glass walls and fancy brick stones, when it comes to Sanctuary's new hospital, everyone has an opinion -- and questions. Like how exactly did the mayor manage to renovate the school and build the hospital, using only the town budget? What's happening to the land the old hospital used to sit on? And why is the hospital's parking lot always full, when the sun goes down? Whatever the reasons, once you get into chapter two, the hospital will be a good place to stock up on supplies. Just be careful you don't stay there, permanently.
The Police Station & Firehouse
Sitting side-by-side since Sanctuary was first established, the jailhouse and firehouse have always worked hand-in-hand for the good of the community. What's that old saying, one hand washing the other? Besides the supplies and vehicles, another good reason to explore these two is...
Blood type
- Bloodtype determines what happens to your body when you die. For example, if you're a Pure Blood, your body will come back to life as minions of whatever attacked and killed you. If you're an Immune, your body will be used to strengthen whatever killed you.
- Bloodtype also determines what sort of power-up you get. For example, Pure Bloods turn into 'hybrids', half-man/half-monster able to do incredible things. Immunes become the equivaent of a super soldier.
Secret Sin
The Secret Sin will affect how your allies and npcs treat you, once they find out the secret you've been hiding from them. When things start to go sidewsys, you're going to have to depend on the person next to you for help. But what if you find out their secret was being responsible for your sister's death? Would you be able to forgive them? Or would you leave hanging off the side of a building. Players choose what their sin is, and how it slowly gets revealed.

“It's all about Power."
"Grabbing it. Keeping it. Using It."
"Power is our currency, our DNA... Our God.”
"We control the World."
"We provide the blueprint. And we give the Instructions."
While we fade away from the bustling market where our benevolent giant resides, we spend what seems to be endless hours winding through the unfamiliar cobblestone streets. Slithering through the labyrinth of darkened streets and narrow passages until in this expansive city, we reach a place where the light rarely touches. There, beneath a fickle and flickering lamp, sitting upon her throne that marks her the queen of the underworld with a cunning and seductive smile is none other than I-Am-X. Calmly observing us with a yellowed iris beset upon harrowing black, her fanged grin only grows wider as her fingertip guides the rod that stirs a tall, thin glass of suspicious looking Red Wine. Here in the Dark, we exist temporarily in her Kingdom. A place where the unsavory sorts can find sanctuary, a black market, and often the tools of death, subtlety, and subterfuge.
Sliding her sultry fingertip upon the spine of a book, the tome seems almost alive as it shudders and props open to a blank, but weathered page. Dipping a sharpened fountain pen in ink, she takes her mark upon the leathery parchment after a sip of her Bloodied delicacy. Not a moment later for us, the innocent-minded folks living upon the streets above, she describes to us her next devilish machination.

Alrighty I'm in school now taking hard classes (Why did I do this to my self) so for now I'm gonna work with Tales but later if I have time I will probably join this kind of thing seems right up my alley
Sounds fun but I'm not sure I have the time for more than one RP. Lilith will you allow joining after it starts or no?
X is right, characters can join even after the rp gets going.

Night Vale? Mmm, don't worry. I have different plans for the town. I just needed a way to talk about it, without talking about it.
Ahh, you hate me? ~pounce~

Through the vast entity that is the Internet, we now find ourselves in an unfamiliar place. A place of new faces, new personalities, and new adventurers alike. This place is the new home of our motley crew, and it is called Batoto. Here, as we meander through bustling streets and cobblestone draped markets, we find the first new person we will meet this day. Diabolical Rhapsody. What is so curious and is immediately the most noticeable thing about this shy soul is his height. Towering over eight feet high and sporting a two-handed mace that weighs more than some men, one would expect this scraggly bearded giant to be a savage barbarian. Yet those who dare try to scratch the surface a touch soon find a kind soul who so earnestly aims to please. Accompanying the vodka that he drinks and sings softly to is a pen quill made of the finest eagle's feather. His tools of imagination and creation, the studious giant fervently writes his passages for us all to see.
Praiyachat Sword Cutlass Special (twin modified Beretta 92FS model pistols), To keep the bad little kiddies in check.
Kodachi, sometimes I like to play with'em. Does wonders on them "Tough Guys".

History:
She appeared out of the blue 7 years ago with literally no background. Shortly after she became one of Sheriff Weston's deputies, despite some doubts with some wondered if a woman can handle the role. Within a year of living in the town and serving as a deputy, most of the doubts disappeared as others warmed up to her and started admiring her work ethic and literally cleaning up the streets, overlooking the state of those that are hauled into the jail, believing they were far more dangerous than they appeared. Within the next 6 months, Sheriff Weston decided to retire. There was quite a few favored to replace the beloved Sheriff but in the end, Riyon was selected as the next Sheriff to everyones surprise. It was right around then where her personality completely changed from how she was before and became even more bold and ruthless then before, hunting down those who break the laws aggresively. She also began taking pleasure in harassing people verbally or physically. You can say, after little more than 5 years on the job, she scared crime out of Sanctuary.
Secret Sin: Collection
Personality: Bold, unorthodox and ruthless; crazy, monster....Fun!
Relationships: In Progress

Though, you should probably drop the (multiple) part, it's supposed to be one word after all. And I imagine it's supposed to be a secret, one that'll get figured out eventually or something lol.
