Camus' Academy

A School Life Spin-off from the Highly Successful RP "Blades of Fealty"

 

 

The story is set up in an alternate reality where the third crusade did not happen. Despite the darkness still lingering, it seems that the dusk have no intention to intervene with the world inside the wall. Thus, people of Empyria are now living in a blissful moment that is peace.

 

That does not mean everything is peaceful, however. Camus, the future duke of Leviathos, having reached his rebellious age, decided that he would not accept Levant's idea of him marrying Lady Lily of Freesia. In his fit of rage, Camus left his homeland and set out to live his own life free of his father's influence. With nothing better to do, he settled on the rural village of Prodesto, and opened a small academy with the help of a local noble, William vauxof Bernard.

 

And so, with a small campus (comparatively speaking of course) and a set of dedicated yet unexperienced teacher, Camus' Academy is now open for business!

Year does not do much in term of system. You take classes based on your house instead of year, but it does help determine your interactions with other students.

• Freshman: 13-14 years old
• Sophomore: 15-16 years old
• Junior: 17-18 years old
• Senior: 18-19 years old

If your character is 18 years old, you are free to choose between Junior and Senior year.

Students that enroll into the Academy would be divided into four houses:

• House Luxor: Students with high self-esteem get enrolled here. They are typically charismatic, and excel in almost all area. A king of all trades, you might say. Maria Leanne Rossignol Kaloc is the Head of this house.
• House Auror: Students that possess great passion to learn get enrolled here. They are typically very studious, and excels greatly in the academic department, especially art and literature. Maiev-Dalal Bethany Rosamond is the Head of this house. 
• House Crevicor: Students that exhibits outstanding valor get enrolled here. They are typically steadfast, and excels in the physical department. Magnar Myles Everett is the Head of this house.
• House Solindor: Students that have the purest of heart get enrolled here. They are typically honest, and do well in all fronts. A jack of all trades, loved by all, you might say. Ivis Fraughtsword is the Head of this house.

Teachers are not a part of these houses, but they tend to have a favorite when it comes to school activities, giving the impression that they are a part of said house.

 

NOTE: You are free to pick your own house in your CS, but I reserve the right to move you to other house when necessary.

History:

William is the head of Bernard family, a house of noble that rules over the village of Prodesto. When Camus decided to open an Academy in his village, William offered his full cooperation and funded the construction of the campus. He often visit the Academy to check up on his children that he enrolled to the academy.

 

Personality:

Despite being a noble, William is a humble man. He dislike fancy impractical clothing with a passion, and can not help but throw rude remarks at those snotty nobles that love to show off their authority and wealth by wearing gaudy clothing. He used to be a smoker, but since his wive dislikes the smell of smoke, he had been trying to put his pipe into retirement (with little success). He is usually pretty lax and cheerful, but he can be quite overprotective when it comes to his family.

 

Relationships:

• Orthus vauxof Bernard: William's eldest son, as well as his heir. He is proud of him for being a successful scholar.
• Cera vauxof Bernard: William's eldest daughter, and his favorite child. He dotes on her quite a lot. Don't try to woe her if you still value your life
• Garm vauxof Bernard: William's youngest son, and so far, the only child that inherited his interest in swordsmanship. William sees himself in this brat of his.
• Camus of Leviathos: The wandering mage of Leviathos. William find his attitude amusing to watch, and decided to lend a hand when the young man decided to open an academy in his village.

History:

Camus was once a professor in the Arcanum Academy of Leviathos. One day, he got into a fight with his father and decided to leave Arcanum for good. He was fascinated by the beautiful nature of Prodesto, and the hospitality shown by the villagers in general. Having decided that this is a perfect place for him to stay, he opened his own academy in this beautiful village with the help of William.

 

Personality:

He had a severe case of insomnia, and is sleep depraved most of the time. As a result, he is in a constant bad mood. Whatever you do, do not mess with him when he is in a bad mood. He will make your life miserable. The only exception to this would probably be Fei, who seemed to enjoy annoying him on a daily basis.

 

Relationships:

• William vauxof Bernard: The ruling noble of Prodesto. His humorous and friendly demeanor is to Camus' liking, and the two became close friends over a short period of time. This surprises even Camus himself.
• Ayasegawa Fei: The walking nightmare of his. This overly active girl just loves to bring noise and disturbance to his otherwise peaceful days.

History:

Fei was a student of Arcanum Academy that comes from the distant land of Yamato. During her stay there, she developed a crush on Camus, her teacher. When she heard that Camus left the academy to open a new one in the unknown land of Prodesto, Fei hastily filed a transfer to this new academy.

 

Personality:

Fei is quite the hyper little girl. She brims with youthful energy, and more often than not, it spills out of her in the form of disaster. A natural airhead, she seldom thinks before she leaps. She is kind and caring, except if you happen to cross her.

• Garm v. Bernard: As a fellow first students of the academy, Fei shares a somewhat friendly relation with him.

History:

Garm is the youngest son of William. Worrying his future as a soldier, his dad summoned him home and enrolled him to the newly established Academy of Prodesto. There, he is expected to learn about all sort of political stuffs in order to help his elder siblings rule his father's land in the future. Naturally, he disobeyed the order and decided to take a course at alchemy and started synthesizing all sort of potions and weapons to be used in the battlefield.

 

Personality:

Garm is a quiet and composed young lad. He is diligent, and he abide to rules. All in all, is a model student. Or is he? Around his family, he turned into a clumsy, bashful boy. In his defense, those people always treated him like a puppy of some sort, and it's hard to act normal around them.

 

Relationships:

• Camus of Leviathos: Don't tell this to Camus, but Garm think he is quite a scary person. I mean, he's in a bad mood all of the time!
• Orthus v. Bernard: A big brother that loves to tease him. There is a brotherly rivalry going on between the two Bernards.
• Ayasegawa Fei: As a fellow first students of the academy, Garm shares a somewhat friendly relation with her.

Students of this house are also characterized by their ability to be calm and confident on their abilities in combat and they do not flinch when in a pinch. As of this simple characterization,  the mages in House Luxor prefer to use the elements of Fire or Ice, an iconic elemental duo. The fighters among House Luxor favor using the iconic sword, either it be long swords, broadswords, or anything else. They also tend to use scythes as a way to intimidate their foes, as well as easily using momentum of the scythe to fight efficiently while being just as deadly. The House Solindor is a place of great trust and tranquility, as well as a refuge for those who have found neither in the past. Much emphasis is placed on remaining secure in the honesty of others within the house, one result of this being the fact that no rooms are locked within the house dormitories, although boys and girls are, of course, separated accordingly. The House Solindor also holds humility in high regard, and the showing off of excess skill, where unneeded, is looked down upon. One of the reasons that we have come to view members of House Luxor as, to put it plainly, undesirable.

 

The staff of House Solindor, as well as myself, believe that starting from the basics is essential in any school. Our main focus, subject-wise, is on the sciences and the foundations of magic. Name: Magnar Myles Everett

Age: 24

Gender: Rated M for Manly

Academy Membership: Teacher for Grappling and Submission arts.

 

Appearance: 7'2'' tall, heavily muscled, with 4 scars on the face. Has countless scars over the whole body 11 of them being arrow wounds (mostly caused by Sashya's arrows). Has Mid-back length Black Hair which are fashioned in a braid. Has full beard which also had braids. Most striking feature are his blood red eyes.

 

History: Being the son of the greatest heroes in the empire is not easy, especially when The Soldier is your dad. Being a tough-as-nails motherfucka', Myles decided that his son shall live the harshest life possible, that he becomesthe most deadly weapon in Emperor's employ. To this end he had the little one brought up the barbarian way, sleeping on the floors, heavy beatings and sparring 4 times a day and the general fare of taunts at his virility. But making sure he eats like a beast to become a beast. So the young warrior finally had the balls to tell his father that he doesn't want to wield a  sword at the age of 8, he'll rather bash the heads of his opponents than slice them. Seeing that denying him his favored weapon will never make him a truly fearsome warrior he wanted his son as, Myles relented, he readied a convoy to his wife's cousin in the Winter Marches who happened to be his good colleague as well, enter Freya the Raven, even tougher than his father and a personality that will make men falter and piss themselves. Magnar was deeply affected by his aunt, she didn't feign nobility like the idiots back in Empyrea and neither did she wear her status on her sleeve. She commanded respect from the toughest of her realm, which was the toughest in Empyrea making her a real badass action girl.

 

She put him to tough practice with her barbaric tribesmen and gave orders to not go easy on the little pipsqueak. The result, 7 years of solid ass-kicking that forged a beast of war. Magnar had braved the pits of proverbial ice-rimmed hell to become the quintessential badass. he was solo hunting boars by 15 and strangling fully grown northerners into submission at their game, the wrestling art Gilma. He became the youngest champion. But more than anything Freya was like his second mother, she cared for him deeply, being tough in front of everyone and tender when with the family. She also encouraged him to cultivate his passion for cooking. Although he is no royal chef, he can dish out the best rendering of a Northern Goulash in Empyrea, much better than the ones served at few northern taverns in the capital.

 

His return coincided with an interesting footnote, the War of Petty Kings, Lysander's moment of awesome and alongside the prince, Magnar showed that the  current crop of crusaders was just as tough as the heroes. He played an important role on many war fronts under Lysander's direct command and through his actions gained ranks by windfall at the end of the two-year war. Seeing as the time of peace has returned and the Royals are not currently keen on the Third Crusade, Magnar has decided to relieve himself of his imperial duties and joined as a guest teacher at The Academy, headed by the prodigal son of Duke of Leviathos. He plans to interact with people here and possibly draft them for the crusades if a call comes.  

 

Personality: He generally keeps to himself, addresses even students in a formal tone inside the academy's premises. Has a lot of rumors running around for him most noticeable being one of his seemingly unquenchable libido. He can be found either in the store room-cum-lodging, or at the sushi place at the cafeteria, at the archery range when  Lady Sashya is engaged in training or in the audience stand during Swordsmanship classes. On his off days from academy, he ventures out of the academy into taverns looking for brawls or finding some chicks. 

 

Likes: Sword fighting, practicing with his hammer, punching trees, wrestling and hand-to-hand combat, meat of any kind (from fish to men[rumored]) and coitus.

-Gale also doesn't have a son in this alternate reality.

 

After 10 years, Gale left the horrid witch. He had decided to pursue a better education. Word spread about the new, "Camus Academy". It interested the young Gale and he decided to enrol there. Like-wise, it was his only option since many other places wouldn't accept him.

 

Specialty:

Gale specialize in the arts of necromancy. He can easily summon a selection of 9 different undead minions to aid him.

He is also an expert fighter with his scythe. (it's also been specially made for necromancy as well)

 

Skills:

-He is strong and agile.

-Great survival skills.

-Knows the art of parkour.

-Dexterous, high endurance.

 

Equipment & Inventory:

-Proto-Exodus (The Scythe): A scythe capable of aiding Gale in his summons. Since this is an alternate reality and Gale hasn't obtain his real scythe in BoF, this is a proto-type scythe that is basically generic in looks.

-Specially made leather gear (Like the chest piece in the picture)

-The fabled black cloak

-Pouch containing 10 potions, scrolls, and book of necromancy

 

Relationships: 

-Since Gale was more or less to be a lone traveller that shows no history, most of the world never properly knew who he was. People have already known about how Aisha having a child, but no one properly knew that Gale was the true son.

-He has a step-brother that came from the unknown, Iblis Ajšasin.

 

Summons: 

Gale has 9 summons. These summons are the most strongest than any other necromancer aside from the elder. Each summons are actually 'friends' towards Gale and they all share a bond that leads towards their strength. In order to summon them, Gale has to chant words and supply them energy to keep them in battle. It's possible to summon all nine but it would leave Gale unable to fight and become very vulnerable. Possibly causing Gale to end up in a comatose.
