He's going after the wrong targets, and $10 say that his enemies don't care. If anything, I'm betting that he's playing into their hands and will have to join forces with the heroes to make things right later down the road. At the very least, he'll probably be arbitrarily killed off and his daughter will join the heroes after giving them some vital information about the real evil mastermind they have to fight.
