ah a good series coming to an end. with a good wrapped up ending too.
but... my heart still feels empty...
yeah... it seems like Haruka managed to become Tomonaga's next girlfriend... but that open ending is totally not bad
seeing that Tomonaga still having a better chemistry with Aoi after all

I'm taking this to mean he's science bros with Aoi and dating Haruka. I was on the other ship, but I'm actually quite alright with this ending. Good job on that.
Also, the omake with Aoi getting a replacement mother was nice.
I was actually really hoping it'd stay bittersweet with the reflection on his time there. The notion that even moments that are transient and destined to fall into the catacombs of our minds are important, but that even that which is forgotten is important to who we are and how we live is one I don't often see, but I believe in wholeheartedly. It was expressed brilliantly here, and I thought it a fitting end note for the story. I actually feel like the Haruka-Tomonaga thing is really forced and takes away from the whole "growing up" themes the story had.
I liked the chemistry between Sensei and Aoi better than Haruka, even in the last chapter that implies Haruka winning.

too bad my fave girl, kayo-chan, don't have some sort of epilogue in the story...

I believe Haruka and Tomonaga ended up together especially at the last page of the chapter (36). The interaction between Tomonaga and Aoi basically sets up for the future. Plus, I'm pretty sure that chucking a book at someone's face would warrant either a lawsuit or lots of love.
Keep chucking books... maybe you'll find one that'll teach Tomonaga how to behave around you~
I'm pretty sure he ended up with Haruka in the ending, even if their relationship had a bit of a trouble based on the last page. It looks like it's only a small stuffs though since they seem tend to fight based on page 45.
Not really sure why you guys call this an open end IMO
