nah original says 石弓, which is literally "Stone Bow".
probably refers to how they specialize in launching stones instead of arrows.
if it was a crossbow, it'd have used something else.

Man there is gonna be a huge plot brewing with the upcoming war and I hope the story didn't get darker.
