As I can see, Nina is important role as well, she gave MC a name "Kou" and Kou seem to like her as well.

Maybe because she was just an apprentice.

I'm enjoying the manga so I think Ill have to treat it similar to a good movie.   Ill read the web novel later to fill in what I missed

Huh...either it's based on LN version that I have never read, or they changed the story a bit from the version that's been translated

To start: Kou came to help earlier than that.

 

Then with the opening the girl told the students( 3 of them) to escape and call for help.

 

Instead the students, in fear of 'failing the exam' for screwing up, sneak back and attempted to silence the teachers, which Kou stopped them. 

 

Then it turned into the students vs the dogs that aggro'd on them vs Kou and the teachers and their dogs. (Kou used this time to give the healer some potions so he could recover and help out)

 

Eventually the teacher defeat them and took them to the outside to prepare them for punishment.

 

And Kou went on his merry war, afterward the rumor of 'friendly monster' started.

 

Then when Kou tried to go down another level, he ran into a group of adventurers and got killed. He then had to use another bug as a host to explore further, run into a pack of dogs that eat the bug. He then possessed one of them, then the other turn aggro because they recognize that he's 'something not controlled by the mass consciousness', so when his dog die he possesses the next one, repeat unti only the last one is left alive.

Weird, right? Had to stop reading for a while just to make sure I read that part right. The webnovel did it better, I think.

It's too rushed, the pacing should follow a little more the LN

yea the art get thumbs up, the bat was really expressionless and unmoveing though, would have wanted to see it move in answer to her talk, like bending it head when she name it and so on.
