Im not following the "troll" ending here, is it an inside joke? It seemed like a good ending to me.
So sad it is over, this was a good one. Though, the best ending would have been if Nagate could have ended up with all of the girls in his harem... you know, to repopulate the world...

It's been so long since a series has had a decent ending. This was refreshing.
I really didn't expect this kind of ending from Nihei, TBH... Well I guess there's first time for everything.
Let's hope he starts another series soon, with darker story of course.

There's so much asspull with high speed plot. i think Nihei got a bump on his head.

I think this entire series started off because Nihei wanted to use the line
"I am a Knight of Sidonia"

Geez after that dramatic and best death scene in many years it was ended so happy like that? I'm a bit disappointed but well it's ok and all... I hope there's a doujin with Tanikaze and Ren or even better with all Honoka

Jokes aside, it was an ok ending. God knows it could have been a lot better, and Nihei pulled a lot out of his ass, everyone could have had better resolutions... but it's not enough to make me hate everything that came before it. It was a good series, all in all. One bad thing doesn't negate all the good.
There's been some speculation that Nihei got rushed in this ending, and if that's actually the case it would explain some things, but there's nothing we could do about it. We should be grateful for what we got, at least, and wish Nihei the best of luck for his next series.

Samari turning out to be tsundere for Tsuruuchi is the best thing that came out of this ending.
