The fight the series has been hyping up for months now has finally arrived. Gintoki has never beaten Utsuro in all his incarnations on his own unless he has help, so I'm thinking he needs to buy time for the rest of his wartime comrades to land and join the fight.
Not sure if readers have seen the last of Sadaharu, even Gintoki doesn't think he's gone for good.

Finally, Shinpachi broke out of the 'curse of 8th' after all these years.
Too bad that this'll be his first and last time to do so.
Just as it looks like Sadaharu is about to bite the dust, Gintoki comes in to save his hide. He's due a rematch with Nobume's Master anyway from their last meeting.
I suppose everything this week is overshadowed by the popularity poll results. Unless they kept an open tally of the votes each time I found it too much of a coincidence someone could get 8th place for four consecutive polls. I suppose he's due a change, but the difference really is so trivial it's a joke in itself.
