At least Alibaba x Morgiana has happy ending.
After all that flying heap of a manga, I got to say I liked it. For sure it deserves a reread later.
thx 4 everything
That's because you are looking at it in terms of your own morality. They understand it as: "grant everyone in the world a destiny: to return to Rukh and become one with god."
Sure, brainwashing. But in another sense: everyone's life has a clear purpose. Every single person gets to die happy and fulfilled without effort, as opposed to people dying in depravity, hatred, grief, regret, etc.
Alibaba wants to remove god-given destiny and purpose. Under his system of free will, there is possibility of suffering. People will be allowed to lose hope. In exchange, everyone's choice is their own: they work towards their own destiny and must decide their own purpose.
Their purpose was to provide support needed for Aladdin to perform the super kamehameha used against David.
I'm sad that Solomon and Sheba didnt get to say anything in final chapter...
don't know... brainwashing the whole world into mass suicide is not exactly what I would call a good example of 'shades of grey morality' storytelling. Seems pretty beyond the moral event horizon to me, and it irks me to read that his followers just completly gloss over it like it was nothing.
Not a bad end but it would of been acceptable even if they decided to switch the pair in the end to surprise us unlike Naruto. Meaning in Magi either way would of been fine as bonds were properly established with both characters.
I couldn't get past page 21 in the last chapter for awhile.... Too many tears forming I had to go back and read 20-21 a bunch of times.
Holy shit that was something powerful.
From the ending it seems like there will be more, besides the fact that everything changed at the end, it seems like we are missing so much. Sequel would be nice, but a lot of fans are probably disappointed at this point.
Does that mean Alibaba now is a furry??? I mean the divide of the dark continent is the reason why red tigers (is that what they are called) have human forms when they leave that place. so now without borders Mor can now freely transform to ether human or her original form?
Welp, it was a fun ride...
well, Parasyte was seinen, they have more leeway to go more serious
but yeah, Parasyte did it better.
It had so many twists, back and forths I got kind of exhausted reading it even taking breaks in between. Kind of sad because I quite liked it.
I'd say Parasyte did it a little better, IMO. More concise and cohesive.
Nice ending, nothing surprising or original, but still well done.
Even though it felt rushed, I did quite like the ending. Thank you Ohtaka-sensei & Sense scans for all your hard for over these years!
I haven't really followed this in a long time, but was this axed or something? The last arc/chapters felt really rushed.
This is an odd feeling.
I remember when there was a time I was invested in this series. The first anime season was great so I jumped on the manga and absolutely loved it. Then the flashback arc happened and I lost track and over time lost interest.
And then today I come to find the manga has ended. Despite myself, I read the last chapter. I have little context, yet I was still disappointed.
I might come back to finish reading this some day but I doubt it.
yeah, same here dude, I lost intreses when it became about gods too, ( sinbad going to sacred palace ) but still kept reading cuz to see the end.
I stopped caring about the story at some point. It was such a great manga but when gods and stuff came up it became a disappointment.
I kept reading just to see the end of it, just like Bleach...
But I have to say that page 17 of the last chapter made me really happy.
Thank you for your work, Ohtaka Shinobu, and thanks a lot to the teams for translating this manga!
