I waited 2 years to have substantial amount of material to read, and those 2 volumes were gone in about an hour.....
Now to wait for 2 more years T-T
Does it look only to me like Hina doesn't have any feelings for Rei. She is embarrassed at the pool (only in the beginning thought) but later after the sand bath she says she is happy because no boy she likes can see her like that while in Rei's presence. Moreover she doesn't panick about his food at all unlike for Takahashi's bento. It's been a while that I read those chapters but did she ever confirm that she has the same feelings as Rei? Is it really like what Smith &Co thought and their "relationship" is one-sidedly and not progressing partly even only self-proclaimed?
I kind of hope so because I didn't want Rei to have a relationship with Hina and he really needs to cool his head off
Chapter 139 leaves us really with a cliff.I don't think something serious like suicide is going to happen and from scanning through the few available raws I couldn't find anything but I think this is going to appear in the later chapters again.
From what I saw on his page he translates an entire volume as it comes out rather than every single chapter when it appears in younganimal. If I remember it right sangatsu no lion doesn't appear in every issue but more sporadic
Yep... and I don't think we will be getting a new chapter any time soon
i can't understand why shimada look so healthy on the anime, i was expecting them to draw him like they do kaiki
it feel like meeting an old friend who is already 180 of his past self
it's a bit disappointing
can't wait for next episode of the anime
while i haven't watch the anime but next episode is must watch for me
because chapter 61 is special
I was watching the latest anime release (S2E6) which is Chapter 56-57 of the manga; I noticed about 14 minutes in, Rei screams "I'm gonna be the Newcomer King", very reminiscent of Black Clover's MC line that he screams ad nauseum in every episode. Honestly, it's in the manga, but the line is so eerily similar that a small part of me wonders if it is a jab at Black Clover since the anime is almost unwatchable because of that line while 3-Gatsu pulls it off effortlessly.
The updates come far apart, so I tend to leave this manga for a while, then binge read it, just to remind myself what a frigging masterpiece it is. Honestly if you can read this without tearing up, then you have a heart made of stone.
I was watching the anime and just figured I'd check out the source material.
I started where the anime was at the time, chapter 54
Now it's 4 days later.
And I'm all caught up.
Fuck.
So good and so bittersweet. Ugh, my heart
The man has been around since early on. He's actually a Shogi friend of her father, which gives you some insight into how different she is from him in age. When Rei actually found out about the relationship between her and that man, he confronted him, which resulted in Rei getting pretty beat up. The woman in the hospital is that man's wife who has been in a coma for some time. The relationship the sister in isn't really a wholesome one as you can imagine. She genuinely cares about him, but he was never serious about her, being more of a temporary substitute, which she is keenly aware of.
Oh!! Thank you, I didn't realize they were Honey and Clover characters at the time, so I thought it was some sort of time skip thing and that Ayumi was Hana, haha.
We get to see Souya's humanity, that even he can be a little childish, but even more importantly, that he legitimately enjoys the match against his opponent. The expressions he expressed were astonishing.
As much as I love Sensei, Shimada just relentlessly steals my heart every time. I can't help but to root for him. He really is "so cool!" ;3;
Seeing more into the side characters' stories, and even Rei's sister getting some -gasp- character development??????
This friggen series is astounding D; I love every bit of it. Another year's wait for the next volume, but I'll patiently await for another few chapters of this masterpiece.
maaaan I cant believe the Grim Reaper is actually a legit mortician lmao
Tail end of ch. 135, the little cat picture. First, very adorable . . . but second, I want to note the typesetting. That is awesome. It looks just like it was written there; the fonty stuff is great, and it sort of curves around the picture even. Not that this is unique--scanlators very often do an amazing job, and it's clear that the technique level overall has advanced over the years. Ten years, fifteen years ago you sort of looked past how clunky it was, text stuck clumsily into bubbles with whitespace that didn't match, but now you get this kind of amazing thing.
A year is good. It lets Umino-sensei write such deep and well thought out parts of her story. Kind of like how Akatsuki no Yona is monthly, and is sooo darn good. I feel like the pressure of weekly chapters is not beneficial for the quality of storytelling in manga. Just my opinion though.
Wow, just wow. This latest batch had so much heart and character development for all the "non main" characters. It really makes the series feel more alive and loved on by the author. This is a must-read manga in my opinion.
Wow! Umino-Sensei's work just gets better and better. Drama, both in manga and novels, often seems so contrived and shallow, but she is able to make it feel real to the reader. Also, thanks, Hi Wa Mata Noboru, for bringing us this real gem. I feel as though I'm going to have to get both the animated version and the live action version.
It is Garou. He even showed up in the anime. The guy who punched Kiriyama.
And the woman is his wife who is in coma for a long time from what I gather.
Was the guy she was with shown in the earlier chapters? Who was the girl in the hospital?
Frustrated that I can't remember them haha.
Sorry I have so many questions D:
Nikaidou, I love you, but don't e v e r do that to me again.
Umino-sensei is at the top of her game. You folks at Hi Wa Mata Noboru are heroes. Deep bows and many thanks.
