Hm, so what if
Flors did have kind of an awful life, and everything was related or caused by Roca. He couldn't see his father before he died because she kept delaying him; the sphinx was commissioned by her family and gave him his nickname, which he hated for the rest of his life along with his occupation; that made him angry and jaded which led to his son leaving him; and his wife always loved another man, which she said was okay because she thought he always loved "the girl from across the sea".
So, neither his life nor the moment of his death were happy; truly a depressing past life this time.
Well, now I'm sure there is a trend going on with the character's names. Fuuta always has a name that starts with the "F" phoneme: Fuuta, Fone, Flors, Fortuna; and I think Vann is pronounced with an "F" phoneme in japanese.
Also, Kouko seems to have names related to "rock", like Roca or Stona.
Anyone else notice something similar?

Cutting off a persons head is much harder than you think, she was lucky it only took 1 swing, then again it wouldnt have to be all the way through to kill someone instantly.

I swear this series is meant to be marathoned, best way to build up the feels, and tension. I'll try marathoning it every chapter, see how it goes
poor Flors, I can see why...he truly led such a sad life.
Well, at least he spent a life without adding fuel to the fire. And all things considered, he and Vann did not have miserable deaths like Fone. If only he hadn't made the scene at the graveyard, that is, if he had someone to call him by name (i.e. he hadn't been alone), this would have been an all around good ending.
... I Get the feeling we'll be seeing bittersweet endings (at best) until the end of the manga, though.
