It seems not everyone has this problem, so is it just me who gets cockblocked every now and then or what?

actually, that's only certain in the time travel we are seeing now (assuming he later travels back further to become the DL), he overwrote his personality because there one already one of him in the time he went to, the current DL has been ruling for 300 years, long before he was born, so theres nothing to overwrite in that time whe he coud do the secon time slip, the "normal" him is born 300 years later and can then also be overwritten by a future one. (complicated, because time is not just a linear progression of cause and effect...)

This is really good, I like how the character is using his knowledge and not just dicking around.

 

 I also don't think he's the Demon Lord. If he really did jump into the current time stream and combine with himself then it would make no sense for him to be the demon lord. Because if he was the demon lord in the previous time stream he would have combined with the soul there as well making it impossible for him to fight the demon lord there.

I just started also.  Within the first 10 pages I came to that exact conclusion.  There's no avoiding it.

I'd much prefer he charges into the demon world and accidentally ends up allying with the future demon king or something, though, especially since it seems possible the demon king could be a sympathetic character at this point. That would be much more juicy.

It's possible that the demon lord might be a "Nox" kind of villain. Nox is the antagonist of the first season of Wakfu and he is a time mage that mainly tries to drain magic from various powerful, life giving sources in the world. He does this because he want to go far back in time to save his family.

He works by the logic that "If I succeed, then all of my crimes will become undone. And if I fail? Then I dont care about what happens to the world anyhow!"

Since this manga based on light novel, I guess this is monthly?

Now with full set of ultimate equipment and "showmethemoney" activated, he only get 2 thing to do. Except if something happen to his soul or his party (save the twist for later). 

1. Get the country ready for war in case he can not prevent it happen. -> Turn into something like Maou Yusha.

2. Go to the west, save peaceful demon lord, find out the reason of the ones that try to wage war,....

If you guys are suggesting that MC is Maou... then, there is a possibility you guys are wrong... if what the magic sword said is correct... If the first Maou is the MC, then shouldn't he have memories overwritten by the previous jump... which means the MC couldn't defeat Maou because he is himself... which isn't the case... therefore i assume the previous Maou wasn't MC but another person entirely....
