Lol if you complain about that, I wonder what you'd think about Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio/Arpeggio of Blue Steel...But for that one I'm still deeply interested nonetheless because of plot. And art style isn't bad at all.
For me chara designs, Kikou Shoujo anime's in this matter, is kind of a turn off...more than them CGIs. I can't really get the same feeling from Raishin's looks & eyes as I got from the manga, for one.
Of course, even so, I still feel obligated to watch it.
Also, for me so far nothing has been more surprising and hilarious than Rikiya Koyama (Emiya Kiritsugu) as Servant x Service's Section Manager Momoi Kenzou lol

Came here to watch people complain about the anime's poor design compared to the manga. Wasn't disappointed. Their faces look like f@cking rabbits!
The art style being faithful with that of the LN might be one thing, but it unfortunately does not excuse Lerche for the abominable 3D segments they intersperse throughout the episodes.
On the subject of voicing though...having Nakata Jouji voice Sigmund was possibly one of the best/most hilarious decisions they could have made. I literally fell out of my chair laughing when I heard Nrvnqsr Chaos's voice coming from that guy...

Anyway, about the anime... everything is pretty good, faithful to the manga (I've only read the manga so far), only thing I don't really stick with is...
Character design. They really had to bring that OreShura design. Why? Because as far as I know OreShura anime's chara designs weren't really well-received either... but maybe that's only among English speaking communities. I don't really know. But still, I can't really stick with the designs. Manga designs are better... -___-

yep totally right, i also wanted the anime to be more like the visual of the manga, but it's faithful to the original story (that is the LN version) so it's not that bad .. and i differ i liked the voice of Yaya it's really like what i would think it will be, also the voice of raishin (being the same as Katsuragi Keima) it was awesome a must see without a doubt xD

well based on the 15 chap/LN volume pace so far, I guess we can assume that it'll be another 9 chapters before Raishin kicks Elf Speeder's ass.
Though whether that brat is the one or not is another matter altogether.
Well the anime keeps true to the LN's art style. The manga just has a way better visual.

huh? I'm pretty sure the setting was dark almost from the beggining, I mean, since his backstory was introduced and the idea of the bandolls was presented it was pretty obvious this wasn't going to be a happy light comedy sort of manga

Nah before that, the MC will realize that legal(?) shota was trying to stop the evil headmaster by using Char and Henri. In normal shounen, I suppose.
I mean the shota LOOKS OBVIOUSLY evil, while the headmaster is SUBTLY evil.
Unfortunately...YES I do find Yaya more annoying in the anime than in the manga...
Anyone else find Yaya utterly unbearable in the anime? Really, the only thing I can praise them for is getting Jouji Nakata as Sigmund.
@sarahitagi: I thought we were supposed to assume that from the start. It'd be kind of a shock if he was someone else tbh.
Also, I love how the headmaster can't go 5 panels without making sinister faces.
