Any news? I still have hope for this, i mean d.gray-man, berserk, and others got picked up again, even black lagon, so there is hope for this........BTW does someone remember why this stoped?

Not 100% sure but the Im Dal-Young is notoriously famous for not finishing what he starts. If you look up his works you will find out that he does that again and again and works on multiple series at once. Sometimes he comes back and continues s series again only to drop it again. 

I can't guarantee but I've heard that this series in specific was drop by him so that he can invest more time into freezing.

Sadly even if this series is going to be continued that doesn't mean that any translation group (old one seems to be disbanded/inactive now) is going to continue as he might just drop it again

For the future I do recommend you to only read one of his works if it is finished and you read in the comment section that the ending was well done so that you don't read a manhwa for which he promised either a sequel (e.g. The Phantom King) or got axed/ had rushed ending (Dal-Young bored?). I had to learn this the hard way!!

Just a friendly update this series is on Hiatus, and has been for the last few years. Looks pretty grim but the author is writing other series if your ant to read them.

since I last read this from ch1 to 75 back in 2013 I actually forgot I had subscribed to it, as it stopped updating. Bums me out that this series got dropped, as it had epic potential. Seriously hurts cause I really liked this series. Saw it on my subscribed list and decided to reread it again. . . why is Freezing still going strong instead of this?!?!

Fanservice.

Sadly, japan's only moved by extreme fanservice, such as Freezing (its like 10% real plot, 10%gay mc, 90% PLOT)

It was pretty good until that shit happend with Felicia and the group imo.

To think it's been 3 years...still have hope left....this series was nothing like the crud freezing...frozen...freezing, argh wtv was.

Man, don't get why this, and some other series by same author got dropped. This is way better than freezing at least.

It's been 3 years, this is never going to get picked back up again. He only cares about Freezing now.

Woah woah woah!!!!!!!! What the actual F**K?!?! Sorry for my coarse language but I completely shocked to find out the LN ended like that. I can only hope the manga won't follow it. It just suuuuucks. If the manga will trully end like that aswell then Legend of Maian will have one of the worst endings of all Young's works. Which is scary to think of considering how many works he has on stand by.

IDY said he will try change the end in manga, because he also don't like the end in the novel.

So, to resume all the fights of this manga, there is the pattern:

 

1. bad guys appears, start to shoot death rays everywhere like true bad guys

2. hero say "stop, i'm the hero".

3. bad guy react and laugh at the hero then continue shooting death rays everywhere.

4. bad guy get his ass kicked and reckon the hero is more powerful

 

This is a really dull manhwa.

Well, I can't say we americans aren't normally saps like that, but personally, I'm fine with a tragic end.  So long as it makes sense and doesn't come out of nowhere like most tend to.  The linked spoiler does make it *sound* like it does come out of nowhere though.  Although if it's actually explained in well and actually makes sense, bring on the unhappiness.  ...Assuming this story ever gets picked up again to even be given an end...

 

It probably won't get picked up again. And this writer probably can't pull off the execution either anyway. I mean it's IDY, if the entire manga isn't just an asspull, the ending is random and an asspull.

 

But eh, I'll cross my fingers and consider it an open possibility.

When it comes to IDY, generally expect the absolute worst, that way if it's anything better than that you will be pleasantly surprised. I've done that for the few manga he's ended after the first few that pissed me off, so I don't get angry like others do.

This really saves me the trouble of waiting 20 years to finish this manga.  Such a s****y ending to waste my time.

IDY is just a terrible writer and planner. Nearly everything he has worked on is either incomplete or finishes with jump the shark and an asspull. But it sells books and he knows it, so he'll just keep exploiting it. Now I avoid anything and everything the guy touches.

Whoa that is pretty beastly. Americans are saps that always demand a "happy end" but a lot of the great fiction from other cultures has tragic endings, which I personally respect more because shounen hero wins every time is rather boring.

 

I doubt the manga will end the same way, but if it did, I would instantly notch this up as one of the all time great endings. Watchmen is one of the few that doesn't give a happy end, but it's nowhere near as dark as this would be.

I don't think he needs to learn anything... I think he lives off of the tears and frustrations generated from each hiatus he creates. And he's perfected the technique of writing something good to really dig deep before going in for the kill. Truly a master of his craft... unfortunately for us.

 

IDY is the king of trolls. But I think he has settled on Freezing, that seems to get consistent updates. A shame it's probably the one I liked the least.

So much for that bs ending ?! I can't belive it... If the manhwa follow the said novel it will be one of the worst ending in history. Some OP aliens in a fantasy story, wiping everything clean as if nothing never happened. I hope it won't be true. So frustrating >.<
