While I like Ikeda Akihisa, I can never understand NisiOisN's stories or characters. Good thing it was a oneshot, I rather Ikeda Akihisa start a new manga, and not with NisiOisN. Sometimes I feel like NisiOisN tries too hard to be eccentric. Just my two cents.

Was quite amused how dumbfounded all the reader seem after reading the oneshot.

The guy clearly had a death wish talking about killing and then complaining about his live it could only have ended like this. Well, he didn't take her seriously.

He did take her seriously as a child, which ended up with him alienating her.

 

Now that he thinks that she's actually a decent human being, he tried to trust her more and attempted to "normalizing" their relationship. He was going through some mild depression due to certain failure in his life, which is perfectly natural for any person. His only mistake was turning his back toward a stranger with a potential weapon, which he paid heavily for it

 

Morale of the story: Be paranoid.

The artwork is good, and that is pretty much it. The plot is not really good and the girl is a 80/20 yandere with a few screws loose. Reminds me of some of my ex's. Ikeda should have stuck with Rosario+Vampire instead. That was a great story while this one sucks a$$.

RELAX, this is only a oneshot, for the whole purpose of it. There'll be 9 oneshots from Nisioisin with known mangakas. Every one of this oneshots have a theme word. For this one was it was 'Animal'.

She loves so much something or someone that she doesn't want people or animal suffer in the world.

Lame. Little suspense, the girl lacks logic (couldn't kill a dog, but the human is easier? then what about her first list where the human was the hardest to murder?), what's the reasoning behind killing the boy (she LIKED him back in the childhood (emphasis on the past tense- so no murder out of love) and he's not suffering or asking to die (even with his lame attempts at attracting her attention with 'I don't see a point in living and blah-blah'. He is just BORED). The story doesn't seem coherent to me. Neither is it catching.
And I pity the dog of the owner who constantly thought about killing the pet. Ugly.

Yes, but it's not like he was in any unbearable pain chronic pain like her dog, he was just casually complaining about life and being a bit self-deprecating. She said her first instinct upon seeing her dog's pain was to try to help him live longer and fight against it's illness. By that logic, her first instinct upon hearing about the MC's troubles wouldn't have been to kill him, but rather try to help him get his life back together. She'd probably only have thoughts of killing him to put him out of his mercy when his situation seemed completely hopeless. So, there really isn't a logical reason given for the ending. A sequel would be interesting, just because it'd be nice to know what her logic behind killing him was.

If only there's a continuation...where the guy managed to survive, learn the importance of life and save this girl from her twisted mind.

I can't kill anything but flies. even ants would be problem for me to kill en masse. i don't believe in mercy killing either. It's not that life is sacred, but death is final while suffering isn't.
