#1366805 Get in here son, get in here and laugh

Posted by 2hot4you on 22 September 2014 - 01:14 PM

We remove a letter from a show and give it a new description.

Example

The Ark Knight

things take a turn, when noah goes all out to protect his ark from invaders

Braking Bad

A chemistry teacher tries to teach his cerebral palsy son how to drive a car, but he can't brake well because his legs don't work.

Cosmo

Neil Degrasse Tyson reads us this weeks Cosmo Magazine and gossips with his other science girl friends Bill Nye and Lawrence Krauss about the latest fashion trends.

Show me what you got guys :P

#1331916 Japanese Government to Start Anti-Anime/Manga Piracy Operation Next Month

Posted by RBT on 29 July 2014 - 01:01 PM

The Cultural Affairs Agency estimates the loss caused by the Chinese pirate sites last year was amounted to at least 560 billion yen (about US$ 5.5 billion).

So I'm hurting the industry by not buying Japanese manga that has no official English translations, or manga that are not available in my country? That's great to know. I sure am eager to buy manga that's not up to date and is localized now.

More like a bored person with nothing to do.

I'd be a good person, if I actually had to sacrifice anything for it.

Can I vote him for the most humble person EVER?

#913848 What food from your Country/Culture do you eat?

Posted by Nepenthe on 30 September 2013 - 07:04 PM

I'm kinda super American. I've grown up eating pretty American stuff... Chili, corn chowder, corn bread, corn on the cob...lots of stuff. And there's kind of this culture around homemade food, especially in churches. Traditional churches have a lot of cookouts and potluck dinners, where people make something they're good at, and bring it for everyone else to eat. And then there's Thanksgiving...the best meal in existence. Homemade rolls, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, roasted turkey, with gravy all over almost everything. And then, the pies for dessert. Pecan and apple and pumpkin, sometimes lemon chess. I suppose Tex-Mex is kinda American, too, though I'm not as much of a fan of it.

#1295940 Words or expressions you do not know the meaning of

Posted by Natureboy on 26 June 2014 - 12:30 PM

No, the original word was "inflammable," but "flammable" was introduced sometime in the last century, I imagine, because it looks like it would mean "not-flammable."

Too many people couldn't relate "inflammable" to "inflame" but instead mistook it for the non-word "unflammable". Because of the resulting safety hazard the word "flammable" was coined to prevent fires caused by the barely literate.
