Zaire sat in the middle of the large crowd with a bored expression. The musician was strumming a slow and flat tune on his lute. Zaire's anxiousness had led him to the meeting place much earlier than he originally planned, but as time passed by eagerness turned to boredom. Eventually the crowd grew and it seemed as if Riki Lang had become intimidated by the large group of would be Seekers. Riki’s timidity did not bother him though. Just the fact that he was able to lead a band of Seekers made him more than competent in Zaire’s mind.
The group around him however did disappoint Zaire. There weren’t many that looked like they had come for the fun of it. The entertainer laid out a folded cloth in front of where he sat. Once it had been unfolded it revealed a large number of finely made knives. He picked up the first one and brushed his finger against the cold silver. He then admired how the blade glinted beneath the light. This was his best set of knives, and it seemed like the perfect occasion to bring them to. Once Zaire had folded the cloth and put it away, Riki’s assistant had started to speak.
“The two of us are headed to Laris,” she said. “but most of you aren't. Tell me why you think we should bother bringing you along.”
It was finally time for Zaire to introduce himself. The young man hopped up and strummed up a sharp and exhilarating tune on his lute as he walked towards the front of the large group.
“My name is Zaire Sahin, musician and entertainer. If you allow me to join you on your expedition, I will guarantee to keep the spirits and romantic hope of this group alive and well.” Zaire said before bowing. “I am also an expert with the knife.”
