Shen Feng
Before Shen Feng shot that arrow, he felt like he had sight of the entire hall around him. For some strange reason he felt his body pulsate with energy, and his eyes were locked onto his target. In that moment he knew exactly where she was going and where to shoot. Once he had released the bow string and fired the arrow, he knew it. It had been the perfect shot, and a powerful one at that. Better than any other shot he had taken in all his years of archery. However once the arrow had broken through the woman’s leg, the sensation he had felt disappeared as quickly as it came. For a second he stood there motionless, wondering what had just happened to him. After coming back to reality he shook his head, then ran his fingers through his hair.
The assassin would have surely died from the poison that coated his arrow, Still, Sun Zhao served the most devastating blow himself with that spear of his. The speed and precision that spear was thrown with made sure that she would be stopped there for good. Sun Zhao was clearly a ruthless warrior, but it was Joshua Clement that had ended her suffering. Shen Feng noticed that Joshua had shot him a look, but only barely. Which was expected from an assassin of his caliber. Shen Feng knew he was being observed but he wasn’t sure why.
After the assassin had finally been dealt with and killed, Shen Feng let out a sigh of relief. It was definitely a brutal death, but he knew that it had to be done. Even if Shen Feng hadn’t acted, it was guaranteed that she would have been put down anyways. If there was one good thing that came out of this, it was the fact that he had the opportunity to see General Xin Fai, and Wei Xiang in action. If he was going to be working alongside these two, then it was important to see how they handled themselves. Shen Feng was obviously impressed to say the least. However it did surprise him to see Xin Fai show some sort of pity towards the assassin. Shen Feng was certainly learning a thing or two about about the people here today. He then heard Xin Fai call out to him.
“You are coming along with me to my camp. My troops are already stationed outside the city.”
“Alright.” Shen Feng said as he place his bow on his back. “However I’m certain that we won’t need that many troops. I’m not a General, and I’m sure you know that I have next to no experience with wars.” The Quickshot Archer had been on a number of tracking and assassination missions, and he knew that it was always much harder when they knew that he was coming. “One thing I am good at however, is tracking people down. It’s always better to stalk your prey when they’re unaware of your presence.” Twenty thousand troops moving about would alert the entire country, which is something that Sun Zhao definitely did not need right now. Especially with this recent assassination attempt. Shen Feng just hoped that Xin Fai would listen to his advice.
