you seriously expect for an average person to be humanly possible to sift through all the stuff that slipped through without external help of the userbase? or to will to sift through yaoi in particular? everyone tried at least once but that calls for full-time paid job and is not something you can do in your free time. but yeah, keep complaining how few nazis ruined mangu for you.

1) there's no requirement for scanlations to be released in order (a scanlator may decide to skip particular chapters/volumes/etc. for whatever reason, not necessarily out of malice; the middle chapters may also be unavailable for uploading; etc.)

2) if such a thing may be inconvenient for a lot of users, the uploader should preferably take some precaution to avoid annoying readers not interested in the advance chapters (I assume people impatient enough to look at raws may appreciate things like scanlation jumps to the latest chapters?), and further steps may be taken against such users if they ignore friendly reminders about that

3) I think a tad of self-restraint and/or forethought on the readers' part would also work wonder.

 side note to members replying to support threads: please be a tad more tactful with tone choice

Currently the 404 error potato has been replaced by a message that says which image server you're connecting to. Makes figuring out which server/node is down easier but as it also appears with bad uploads, these can be confused as server issues.
 
Rule of thumb: if it happens only with specific releases (and no matter which server is selected for them), and likely there are no pages to choose from at all in the chapter (page selection doesn't show anything), then it should be reported in Quality Assurance subforum as a bad upload (and maybe the uploader also notified directly if you think they're online often enough to take care of it faster themselves). If you keep seeing it no matter what comics you're trying to read and/or switching servers solves the issue, then it should be reported in this (Support) subforum as server issue.
 

Mobile Version / View / Mode

It is supposed to be disabled and was never supported (a leftover of IP.Board the site's been built on), but if your browser or device ends up switching to it automatically (or the toggle for it appears for you at the bottom of the page and you click it accidentally) the solution is to either:

1) change "mobileApp" cookie to "false" and "mobileBrowser" one to "0", then delete "session_id" one and refresh

or

2) delete the above cookies

 
If you have no way of selective removal/modification of cookies, you may have to choose "forget the site" option for bato.to if available, or even completely delete all cookies.

There are two known reasons why you may get this error despite filling all mandatory fields:

The first (old) one: seldom your group choice doesn't get stored. The solution is to either select some other group and then select the indended one back, try uploading and then possibly keep repeating until it clicks (refreshing the page also works, but this way is faster). You could also try alternating between selecting the group with a mouse click and accepting the selection with Enter key.

The second (recent) one: if you're using Chrome browser, see this post. TL;DR - try completely disabling and/or enabling Flash. You could also try using remote upload instead if you can't make the uploader work in the end.
