Kokou No Hito
These two if you like deep stories.

7 Seed- Survival Manga
I Am Hero- Zombie Apocalypse
Trace- Humans who developed supernatural powers to fight against Troubles- monsters who attack humans on sight.
Hideout- Kind of creepy
RAINBOW- If you like tragedy and want to shed manly tears
Aria- Best slice of life manga I've ever came across.
Akame Ga Kill
Blood and Steel- About chinese martial art, something rare that you don't find mangakas in japan do. Its really good so far
City Of Darkness- Like street fighters? Then you'll love this
Utsuro no Hako- a light novel masterpiece, read it on baka-tsuki
pao no monogatari- this manga could make a person cry a ocean. (not exaggerating here)

I'm still currently reading more mangas, i just recommended the ones that should get you reading on a marathon.

Also, thanks to your thread, I'm putting all these mangas recommended by other users on my lists of must-readXD

Oh... Slice of Life worth reading: Silver Spoon aka Gin no Saji... by... wait for it... Hiromu Arakawa. :D But, if you're expecting Fullmetal Alchemist, mark two, you're in for a surprise. It's really, really, REALLY good, though, with all the humour and mood-whiplash you'd expect.

In a farm-school. In Hokkaido. It's awesome. Trust me on this... :D

Scanlation-author collaboration not possible?  Nope: it's doable... try Trace and vote with your feet to try to get more like this.

Psyren is indeed quite awesome and it's a definite plus if a manga is finished when you find it.

However I think you are underestimating Break Blade, or maybe it's just the mecha lover in me that refuses to accept its flaws.

I'm a huge fan of mecha, good mecha. It's just that characters in Break Blade are weak... Shigwen is a good character, dedicated and all that. Others... miracle that they're in such a position and some are completely not where they should be.
Mech action is good, story works as well, characters are the weak point of Break Blade, a very large weak point

The only thing better than mecha action, is mecha action in space! ^_^
But it's funny you should mention Shigwen, I didn't really think of her as a well written character. Girge and that crazy general ripper guy was quite awesome though, not amazingly well written but quite interesting.

Having a lot of words doesn't mean it's a good character.
Shigewn is dedicated to what she is doing, she's not faltering, she's not doing stupid things, she's not undecided. She is the most believable character of them all.
Girge doesn't make much sense with his friendly-fire actions. General Barcouse maybe? He's ok. Zess is believable, very, from all that I've seen, he has more main-character in him than the main character himself.

It's ok, but too many miracle survivals of named characters, don't you agree?

How did I forget Pluto? <slaps head> It's basically a master-class in how to de-construct and then reconstruct a dead horse into something quite beautiful. :)

I haven't read that one, actually, it's like a re-telling of a classic manga, yes? I also forgot to mention Master Keaton, which is some fun globe-trotting, mystery-solving mayhem, and you even learn a bit about history from it, too!

Another entertaining one I've gotten into is Jin, which is about a doctor who gets sent back in time to the Meiji period of Japan. He takes up his practice in Edo, and has to improvise a lot of his materials, medications, and such in order to treat patients using modern techniques. The science behind a lot of his surgery techniques seem pretty well-researched, and the scenery in it is simply amazing. You really feel like you're walking around in ancient Japan looking at some of the pictures.

If you enjoy the humorous parts of ToG (I sure do!) then you might like The Devil King Is Bored. Only about 20 or so chapters are translated, but it's really funny. There are a lot of references to RPGs like Dragon Quest and even some Monty Python in there too.

"Be Mine, Hero!" "I Refuse!" is another fantasy manga I've been into. There's a lot of stuff about economics and politics in it,some humor, a bit of action, and the Demon Queen will be your number one waifu after you read it.

However, for the TRUE Tower of God experience, get yourself a Gameboy emulator (the oldschool black n white one) and a copy of Final Fantasy Legend (Makai Toushi Saga). I suspect that SIU has played that game, and it was the first thing I thought of when I started reading ToG. It's an RPG that takes place inside of a tower, with multiple races in your party, where each floor is the size of a continent, and there are conspiracies at work with the higher-ups. Its a fun little game if you like RPGs, and the sequels (which retain the same flavor) got some very pretty DS remakes with fan translations. Each one is a great way to kill 20 or 30 hours while you're waiting for SIU to work his magic once more.
