Muy buen Manga   

This is manga with a shitload of variety; war, politics, crime and everything that comes with them. So many different subject matters depicted in a shitty world, full of shitty people, facing imminent destruction due to a serious strange pandemic that has caused a change in everything.

Full of interesting characters with equally interesting pasts and futures that the world hurls at them. Some of them successfully fight their way through the most horrible of situations, only to be faced with even more horrible shit, while some get trampled without any chance to affect their fate. People die in this manga... a lot, and while this can be annoying to some, I found it to be realistic and expected in a world such as this.

Like others have stated, the message this manga brings to its audience is hope.

To top it all off, the art is gorgeous. The manga has a lot of fight scenes and they are drawn and directed really well, they are some of the best in the whole medium.

The manga was apparently canceled and the artist had to rush the ending. This sucks, but the ending was still somewhat satisfying.

This is an amazing sci-fi piece and I consider it one of the essentials of the genre in this medium.

So, this has been an interesting manga.There's definitely things to ponder about after reading this work. I don't regret reading it, it's worth it.
Alot of people here in the comments either demonise or praise this manga into the heavens. It's more of a gray zone, as the manga does have some flaws.
Most of those were in regards to the pacing.
Anyways, the author manages to draw you into the universe he created, which is an important measure of an artist's worth in a fictive genre as this.
This manga is worth reading, and it's a good read.

This is one of the best manga I have read in a while. It has flaws (the pacing in the beginning. the ending might need some revision, etc.) but it still delivered great in my books.

Despite the bleakness, the message this manga brings is one of hope. In fact, it's a theme even stronger, and more prevalent, than the hopelessness others seem to perceive. It's beautiful, really.
 
It is a very good work, although it takes some time to become actually interesting. To put it bluntly, the first few volumes are downright boring, and quite tiresome to read. But once that changes, you're hooked. It becomes an excellent story, and you are finally rewarded with the meaning of it all - the manga's aletheia, if you will.
 
Of course, if you get too hung up on the graphicness, the drama and the tragedy, the entire work will go completely over your head. To which I say - stop now, read more manga, get some god damn taste, and then come back.

I remember deciding not to read this manga back when it came out, almost 20 years ago. It seemed too depressing, the drawing style was too realistic and dull. I'm glad I hadn't read it then. I would have not appreciated the dark tone of the series.

It's definitely not the most depressing series I've read. To the people complaining: this isn't nearly as heartbreaking as nearly all the classics of literature. The deaths here are meaningful and the pain of loss is proof of good writing. Be glad, for every time you see a beloved character die, it means you have known something good.

And of course, the most brutal thing in this manga is not the death of any single character, but the transformation of people we see as good into what we see as evil. This transition is slow and smooth. We cheer our heroes on their way into depravity, and notice it all too late.

Reading the last chapter while listening to: The impressions - People get ready, makes for an awesome enging.

This manga is pretty good, yes there is lots of death, sex and other fucked up shit, but that's part of humanity, wether you like it or not.

It took me like 190 chapters tho, before I realized that the kids from the first few chapters are still in the manga as grown ups xD

This is probably one of the worst manga I've read in my entire life, in regards to the story. The entire manga only glorifies gore and death and lacks any real creative substance whatsoever. It's literally the same monotonous theme continually repeating, over and over again. They introduce you to some characters, their significant others, and they all die. Oh but wait! SOMETIMES one of them survives to experience the horror of losing everyone they ever cared about. It kind of loses it's effect and becomes a predictable cliche after the same scenario repeats itself for the billionth time.

I found myself taking bets on whose going to be dead next rather than giving a fuck about the shitty writing and everyone's odd lack of emotional response, especially after Helena, but just lost interest near the end.

I think you're just looking at this series like it's some adventure series.  I feel you're missing out on the fact that the people dying is a contrast to the beauty of humanity and their duty to live.

Just finished reading this series. Out of the 3 big series I read this week, I'd have to say that I liked this one as number 2. All the f-in tragedy was just plain excessive. The author seems more like he was going for the shock factor than anything. The ending was okay in my opinion but I feel like it could have been better.

I only managed to read the first volume. The story was interesting but after some time I lost track of who was who, and I didn't know if what I was seeing was a flashback or the present. The two kids from the beginning somehow disappeared and I couldn't find them again though there were references. Did the names change? I don't even know what I'm saying, it was that confusing to me.

Apart from that, the lack of facial expressions made the dialogue kinda weird, like I was watching some VERY human-looking robots.

The greatest manga ever !
