I have liked a total of 3 manwha
Nina Jalhae - comedy school delinquents
Kiss Me Kill Me - crossdressing shoujo delinquents
Unbalance x Unbalance - school life teacher romance delinquents
Everything else is shit and no arguments to the contrary will sway me

I don't, however, like manhua to any particular extent...

Sure it's different. I like it quite a bit though. Plus, the Koreans have got their horror genre down to a T; better than the Japanese if I may be so bold, and that's including other media than just comics.

I have actually noticed a few things that seem oddly consistent in Korean Manhwa though. Very often pretty much every character is a real jerk, and it sets a mood that really distracts me and doesn't let me enjoy anything. (Don't post responses giving me examples of Korean Manhwa that don't have this, I know they exist, I'm just saying I've seen it a lot more than I'd have expected to)

I also recommend giving Korean Webcomics a go, like Noblesse, Tower of God and Trace.

Korean drama pretty much have jerks all about through. Even the tv dramas are like that. I never really understood the appeal but they are apparently tsundere or something.

The korean manhwa on the other hand brings something new to table. They're more creative, intelligent and unpredictable,

I find manhwa to be better these days. Japanese manga feels to rigid and cliche. They keep reusing the same scenarios over and over.

The Korean Webcomics I've read have been surprisingly creative and innovative, but I still haven't really found many manhwa that are much good. 99%(quite possibly exaggerating) of the manhwa I've read have seemed to be ripping off Japanese manga.

But, of course, it only depends on the author itself.

It's like when I read a manga for the first time: it was weird at first, but after much reflexion, it's kinda awesome. It's the same thing with the only manwha I've read so far (Paladin, which is really good and funny).
But, of course, it only depends on the author itself.
Interesting, I generally either start liking something or recognizing overused cliches/tropes and then it either turns out worse (Gamaran, Fairy Tail), I realize it wasn't as good as I thought it was (happens more often than I'd like) or it actually stays consistently good/gets better, which is rather rare compared to the other possibilities.
