So sad to see this site go, i have been using it for about 3 years and it is my primary manga source.
I hope someone takes over/keeps it running.

Thank you very much for running this site as long as you did. It became my main source of reading a while ago and I've been visiting more or less every day since discovering it. I'm an office worker in my mid 20's and having so much manga easily accessible has made a lot of boring/bad days a lot more bearable. I greatly appreciate the effort you and your staff have done, but I sincerely hope you're able to get some rest and peace of mind with this decision.
Thank you for the years of service! <3
Thank you so much for running this site for so long and best of luck in what you do with your future.
Thank you, it was hard but you did a great job. It's the only "fair" manga catalog site I've seen so far. Only here the name of the scanlating group and other languages than English could be chosen....
Bonne chance.
Whelp, that's a sad day for the readers and the many uploaders. Thank you Grumpy for keeping this project running for as long as you did, take your well-earned rest.
I just went and printed out my follow list. Now the question is: where to go now? There's no site out there with quite the same quality as far as I know. Anybody got a recommendation?
This is gonna be a huge drawback for everyone, starting from normal viewers to scanlation groups, plus the manga media going to be less streamlined from it.
I see no reason why you could not just hire/find people to develop/maintain the site, while you can just being an Owner of it. At this point the site should been big enough long time ago so that it should be able to be profitable to cover expenses for itself so that you could hire people to maintain and develop the site, instead of doing all the work yourself.
Instead of bruning it and casting aside all the work that gone into all this.
Anyways thanks for hard work, but you should really reconsider your decisions, it looks like a selfish resolution.
Thank you so much for what you've done! I never knew that behind this wonderful site there was so much hard work, i truly hope that you'll be able to live without any more worries. What you did for us was incredible. Although i never posted anything i just wanted to let you know that every day of my life in these past 3 years i visited at least once the site. It is a big part of my life and i'll really miss it. Hope that you'll find all the happiness that you deserve <3
And again THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE WONDERFUL YEARS
It's really a shame that it will go down, I do hope someone have the will to continue, this site is the most well done and organized I've seen so far and the only or one of the few that respect the scanlator work.
Best of luck on your life and take care, and thanks for the hard work on keeping this site for so long.
What is preventing you from giving management to someone else? Being site owner doesn't mean you have to keep eye on it all the time.
I fail to see how this is a problem with bato.to and not a problem with your mindset. Bato.to seems to only cause your life problems because you are making so that it caused you problems, by wanting to be omnipresent and setting alarms for crashes and everything.
You don't need to do that. Hire someone to take care of site and stay as owner of the site who simply owns the place. Hiring people or finding someone else to keep this place up should not be a problem.
Thank you so much for your hard work! You'll be missed!
If the idea of of "passing on the torch" appeals to you in the slightest, I'd be more than happy to purchase the website from you! I'm a software engineer with both time and some money on my hands!
I only joined this year, I think, but it's been great. Live your life, my man, take care.
I think this is my only forum post to thank Grumpy for all the hard work over the years.
I have been an avid reader for about 5 years. I loved the clean interface, huge set of subject-matter tags, and wide variety, such as 中文漫画 and Korean webtoons. Easy access to a lot of quality reading material helped get me through some difficult times, including a couple of overseas moves and a part-time masters degree.
