Gintama. It's just like the Simpsons/South Park/Family Guy of Japan. There's a lot of parodies and references. It's just insane.

try watching gundam build fighters, it's chock full of gundam references that will make any fans laugh, or if you watched mecha/card game anime that tried to take itself way too seriously (i.e. yugioh or danball senki) then it will also make you laugh cause it even satirizes those tropes.

I just started watching Kill la Kill, but that thing is through the roof and out the orbit.

haha, Kill la Kill is perfect, indeed ........ (though it focuses more on fighting and story in the end)
