Me and another moderator Mhh proposed an idea where we could compile a list of suggestions that would be do-able into one list. These are the community suggestions that we are going over at the moment. Some of them are not mentioned because they were declined and/or are being implemented next time or are on the to-do list. As new suggestions are proposed that will help expand the community they will be added to this list. Now the template goes on like this:
Suggestion (Link of the Suggestion)

Community Suggestions: This is where we will put the comments and different aspects of what the community thought of the suggestion presented.
Community Comment A
Community Comment B
Community Comment C
Staff Suggestions: This is where we will put the comments and different aspects of what the Staff Members thought of the suggestion presented.
Staff Comment A
Staff Comment B
Staff Comment C
The spoiler would be the portion where the different aspects of the spoiler would be presented by both parties.
Create a new forum for Comic Reviews and warn users about it containing Spoilers.
Heavily Moderate this new forum to prevent any flame wars or non-sense posting.
Be able to rate someone's review. Examples include a person's review having a Usefulness of 7/10
Have a group of people like Contributors to do the reviews
Include a rating system of stars in the forum to give it an overall rating between the reviewers
Staff Suggestions:
Creating a seperate forum for reviews instead having it in the comment section.
Create a button: "Read Reviews" option on the comic you are viewing. When the user clicks it a screen will pop-up saying "This contains spoilers are you sure you want to read?". An option between yes and no will be presented. This option will make the forum get noticed by the community.
Add a "What Comic/What Chapter/When Uploaded" Section somewhere for users with Contributor Status to check what the contributor has uploaded before and when.
Staff Suggestions:
It was suggested that it was going to be made for the moderators but ones for the user was not confirmed
Another staff member loved this idea but has not commented on the topic.
After reading a comic have a recommendation appear with a collection of other comics listed similar to the one a user read.
Staff Suggestions:
Staff commented that the coding process would be a long one for such to implement.
Notification when a user's post has been deleted or the topic has been moved (Link of the Suggestion)
Spoiler
Community Suggestions:
The author of the topic suggested that a user should get notified by inbox when their post or the thread they posted on has been deleted or moved. That way a user could ask the moderator a question or statement on why the post was deleted or know where the thread was moved due to the notification.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff liked the idea since it complimented both parties the best way.
Another staff member liked this idea since it would clarify any misunderstandings between both party groups.
The author of the topic suggested that you could track the chapters you read and left on, and come back later on that the same spot itself. It would be like a timeline of everything you read in the past and where you left that comic chapter on.
Another community member made the statement that it would take too many resources to do this function on Batoto.
Another user comment that it would be nice to have a feature where you could mark "Read" on the comic itself and either combine the track chapter with the follows system of make another system separate from the follows.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff made a comment that this suggestion would not be implemented until the next software update to the forums.
The author of the topic suggested that filtering out genres that a person never reads would be useful as they want the Latest releases to target what they read.
Another user suggested that it would be nice to have a feature to "expunge" a certain type of comic, so that same comic does not show on their home page if it was updated. The same user suggested that if they had some symbol such as a color dot, or some mark that could tell the user that this series indicates a genre that they block off, this would allow them to read certain interesting comics from the genre they blocked off and if they do not like such comic they could avoid it. This would allow the users to look for an interesting story in the genre they blocked off rather then filtering the rest of the genre completely.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff member made a comment that it would be great for users to filter out a genre that they never read when when Latest releases come out.
The posters who suggested this idea wanted a "blacklist" for comic titles they are not interested in versus the functions of the follow list. For example if the user adds ten titles into the "blacklist" when they should search comic titles those ten would have a symbol next to them notifying the user that these were added to the blacklist. This would make it user friendly as the user would be reminded they were not interested in such a title and make search more efficient.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff member liked the functionality of this suggestion as it would make searches more user-friendly and faster.
Another staff member liked the idea of having this implemented, but it would be up to God Grumps to accept this idea or not.
Community Suggestions (Minor):
Having a Spinoff, Prequel and Sequel Listed in the comic as hyperlinks (Link of the Suggestion)
Spoiler
Community Suggestions:
Would be great to know if there is a prequel or not to the series or another spin off.
Original Poster of the topic suggested to have custom titles and just not the title Potato as it is plain and dull. The poster also stated to have custom titles based on hierarchical involving post count for users that are not contributors, staff or other. Just regular Users.
Staff Suggestions:
An administrator replied that giving custom titles would involve a lot of administration work. This staff member also did not want titles based on post as it would promote nonsensical topics and spam all over the forums.
G-man replied to this topic, that they will not let the users give themselves custom titles or they might impersonate staff members by making their custom titles to "Admin" or so. G-man also liked the TOG floor title that another administrator suggested because it was not dull yet was hesitant to implement as it is connected with The Company.
Another administrator did not mind about implementing user titles based on post count. This member suggested a TOG floor title related to post count. This staff member did not mind other titles like Naruto rank systems or so, but did not want titles to be dull and cliche.
Another staff member did not want this to be implemented based on the post system as it would increase spam.
New Update: Staff members are suggesting custom titles be avaiable to users if only a competition were to be made in order to get those titles. The idea right now is not concrete but the idea is to have a competition that will help Batoto and some way or form. The idea was to have a competition and to give titles rewarding the top 3 users. This idea is just in the air and not concrete, staff members are sitll discussing this.
Original Poster of the topic suggested that links be made clickable when posted via status comments, as of now the links are not clickable as users have to copy and paste the links. This would make it more user friendly.
Staff Suggestions:
An administrator replied that this would be something that IPB should be fixing.
A way to arrange a user's follow list alphabetically.
Another way to organize follows to have them numbered one to so on.
Sort follows according to the number of follows a comic has.
Add an arrow sign indicating up or down rather then opening the whole follow page to minimize lagging.
Add a column indicating when the follow was added (what date)
Have a checklist on how to organize a user follows: by length of series, by how many chapters you've already read in that series, by author, by genre, by most recently-read, and by scanlation group and/or complete, incomplete, ongoing etc.
Having follows color coded on what you have read so far and what is left. Examples: Follows with red background indicates you did not read the new releases, follows with green indicate you read the most recent chapter released.
Staff Suggestions:
Make the follows more individualized, by having a dropdown box when following the comic with High Priority, Medium Priority and Low Priority. This would make the follows that are the most important stay on top while the ones that stay on bottom would be low priority.
Grumpy: The "follows" will really have to be re-hauled for comics. I tried to make the IPB's follow work with our usage, but it's just too lacking of features to satisfy people's needs and it's turning out to be a greater hassle than it is helpful. But I assure you, this will be done!
The community agreed that the comments on the comic comment should stay on as default despite the other side arguing strongly against it.
Another person suggested that turning off the comment section/hiding it would save bandwidth and have less lag times.
Another community member suggested that the toggle comment section should be placed above the comic you are viewing instead of going to the User's setting page like the staff suggested.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff suggested that instead of turning off the comments, an option such as turning off the signature be available somewhere to hide/turn off the comments section in the comic somewhere in the USER'S SETTING. That way people who enjoy the comic's comment section can still have a view and the other party that do not like to waste bandwidth or generally the comic section itself can toggle if off.
The author of the topic suggested that the group page should contain the group's logo, a profile, a picture section, a list of last viewed such as the ones implemented on user's profile, a tally of the number of views the page has had and etc.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff commented that the page could be editable by anyone therefore enforcing "trolls" to ruin a group's page. And setting up groups would take a lot of work according to the staff member.
Another staff member did not comment but had the idea of contribution mods setting up the group page instead which would avoid "trolls". To further that the group's members could suggest how to organize the page in a special forum where the contribution mods would set the page according to that certain request.
Suggestions that are under repeated review (endless updates)
Tag and Genres which the Community would love to see be implemented (Link of the Suggestion)
Spoiler
Community Suggestions:
The genre "Webtoon" as there are many webtoons and how they differ from traditional manga/manhwa.
The Tag "Music" even though it is most likely located in School Life the community feels having this tag is needed.
The genre "Oneshot" to help people who are looking for only one chapter or people looking for larger quantities of chapters.
A Violence tag, even though Mature Tag is available they both are in different categories almost, and most Mature Tags are likely sexual instead of violent. A Violent tag would help explain the comic tag more.
4-Koma tag to help people find it more easier and/or help people who are not looking for such types to cross them of the list.
Cooking tag for people who are trying to find comics associated with this tag.
To add a book/novels/reading forum in the Entertainiment District for people who enjoy this hobby and also to create topics about books instead of them being in the general discussion section.
A person suggested putting the "i" button on the follows list + when searching comics to know what the comic is about without clicking.
Another person suggested putting the "i" button on the follows list would help the community remember why they added it in the first place.
The Community thinks that this will cut the time in between clicking other pages for description if the "i" button is readily available on that spot.
Staff Suggestions:
A staff agreed with the "i" description on other pages such as when searching comics but did not agree with the follows suggestion. Later the staff agreed with the "i" button being added to the follows as well.
Some other staff member replied that this is a do-able thing and has been noted as a good suggestion.
Background colors when reading comics was suggested (but is already being implemented soon).
Colored Usernames was suggested (But it was a no go)
Reputation System was also suggested and well liked by the community as a mean of motivating posters to stay more active on the forums.
Shiny icons (more info needed) was also suggested and well liked by the community
Staff Suggestions:
I would generally like to leave IPB systems to IPB. Reason being that is if I change, any updates from IPB will conflict with the altered system. There are more than 1 methods of rep IPB offers, but negative based points spawned griefers and would like to avoid that. ~Grumpy
