It's kind of disheartening, really. Men really are pigs. As a group, that is. Plenty of them are quite lovely individuals, of course.
Fascinatingly, pedophilia is possibly mostly a guy thing. As in, some studies have shown the women tend to be attracted towards people their own age, whereas men more tend to continue to like young women.forgive me but I was deliberately trying to be sexist

I finally beat the Elite Four and Lance. Aerodactyl was such a pain to deal with because of its extremely high attack and speed stats; it kept oneshotting Fwuffy (my Ampharos) and Nessie (Lapras) -- my only two counters to Lance's dragons -- before I could even get a chance to attack it. Cindy, my starter and arguably the mon with the best stats on my team, was practically useless against Lance since all its moves were 0.5x effective on dragons (it died to Aerodactyl's Rock Slide anyway, so it didn't matter). I lost like five times in a row.
I finally managed to beat Lance (the rest of the Elite Four had always been a breeze) by giving Fwuffy the item Quick Claw, resulting in a lucky first attack on Aerodactly before it hit me. My Nessie then survived the first Dragonite's Outrage and oneshot it with Ice Beam. I got lucky when his second Dragonite didn't use Outrage (instead going for Safeguard), so Nessie could oneshot it. Cindy and Crosscross took care of the third dragon and Fwuffy cleaned up Charizard. I'll be honest, this victory was more satisfying than my first win in the original Gold/Silver games.
I should mention that I would have won long back if I hadn't explicitly taken up the challenge of never using an item in battle (Full Restore, Revive and stuff) throughout my playthrough. That makes it extra annoying when opponents spam Full Restore (and boy, is Lance fond of that! He uses it like four times each time I take him on).
