It's obvious Rain will marry the princess in a few years and become king. Except if he die on the last chapter of the manga of course.
@marss You want an answer based on what we perceive as gains? If he goes with the empress he is bound to be her subject and nothing more, that woman seems to have her goals set. If he stays with the princess he will possibly become king.
As for Rain's reasons, I'm pretty sure he made a promise with the princess long ago; its in some early chapter.
That empress just sealed her fate. So stupid.

I will concede the "stolen" point but me talking about the treasury was just an assumption I made due to events two chapters back. I do not actually know what they did in the treasury or anything that has not yet been posted on this site.

It's still possible to say he stole her heart away, but it needs to be indicated. Example: "Rain not only stole the queen's heart, but also the entire ********."

Also I forgot one more thing in my last post; peasants and other countries in these medieval eras were religious like crazy. "WHAT YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD? Must be a heretic/witch/demon/etc." so ya most king's were pious back then. If you weren't then peasants usually rebelled and other countries invaded you for shits n' giggles. This also applies to different religions.
Good thing there doesn't seem to be any religion in this world. Thank god~(pfft lol)!
