Watched the first two episodes on Crunchy Roll and wanted to check out the manga, but they don't seem to have the first several chapters in English here. Are there any good sites you guys can suggest where I could read them?

They have the chapter, I think they should be working on it right now. It's a bit delayed because of reasons but we should be getting it soon. You can follow PlumJucie on twitter for updates.

I just started reading this manga. First impressions: This is very similar to Fushigi Yūgi (ふしぎ遊戯). That's not a bad thing. Anyone else getting that deja vu feeling?

It is compared to that a lot, and as someone who used to read fushigi yugi as a tween I think it builds on the classic girl taken to a fantasy world without making this a tired romance with a tag along harem. C: (and obviously sans her changing worlds, although going from luxury all the way down could be comparable). As a 20 something year old now I am nostalgic of those but happier to see these settings evolve.

The focus on politics, friendship, ethics and the faults of past but well intentioned actions I think makes it a really enjoyable series.

Agreed but I feel that this one is way better as Yona actually grow.

Lol yes!! Rayn actually puts a lot of these funny notes in the TL file, but I mostly don't typeset them during the regular chapters. I figure we're supposed to just have fun with these extra chapters, so I left this one in haha XD

Honestly I'm so hyped after that but I don't know if I should be feeling happy for the chapter developments or anxious.

Like that chapter was fundamentally terrifying because it shown the absolute madness and greed Gobi has swirling inside. But also the corruption of the town's folk who are only thinking in terms of what will help their position as a country.

Or rather as one side in a highly devisive conflict. Fun stuff, I'm just so glad it was also used to highlight Hak's feelings. He may not have started off feeling super good towards our boys but he really does care so much about them in a similar non romantic way to Yona.

Like the fact it felt like he was saying he cared about them as much as Yona felt so poignant when he'd started off mistrusting them and being Yona's lone ally in her travels.

I just love that the author reiterated the depth of his feelings like that. Consequently, even if briefly we'll be inching towards seeing him overcome his anger towards Soo won not just for Yona's sake but for his own. He doesn't need to forgive him but you can see in the last few chapters the absolute heartache he feels over Soo won who was his friend, the soo won who committed and prepared for the coup and the soo won who is the king.

Humans are woefully contradictory creatures and settling that pain in himself so that he can be with Yona, the boys (and ao) and Yoon without jeopardising their safety should he come into close proximity of Soowon.

As for the war and our sweet little murdering psychopath, I don't know what his ultimate fate would be if he lived so it seems most likely he'll die in combat in the next few chapters. With any luck Gobi will be neutralised (permanently or just bound and gagged) and the sisters can prevent their country going to war.

I don't know that it would go that smoothly, stories aren't really made to be clean cut, but I really hope they do prevent the in universe devastation that would follow if war commenced.

Plus that would mean medical attention for all these sweet kids. :C maybe even more time with the wind tribe while Soowon hightails it out of there.
