This seems to be the most accurate interpretation.
I'm still sad that this manga ended. I really liked Aoi and the fujoshi.
It's not really matter if Haruka indeed dating Tomonaga. Aoi better be with Kayo instead.
Haruka stayed true to his love for tomonaga so I think she was rewarded I chose to accept it this way
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Yea this is how I will accept this ending, it was a fun ride but I am actually really happy they dont say it out load who he chose. I have not recovered from the plane crash that was the ending of "the world god only knows".
PS. THANks for translation!!
A method to make a gentle world doesn't exist.
I absolutely loved this manga! Thanks for all the hard work!
I... like the ending. Because it's not an overly sweet shoujo manga ending (eg: everyone gets married. I mean, this ending fits for some stories, but definitely not for something like this) and it's also not the kind of ending that leaves a really terrible bitter taste in your mouth (eg: Oreimo). I'm not an overly critical manga reader, so I was able to enjoy this, beginning to end. Thank you, Vexed Scans. You stuck through with this and we're all really grateful.
well it kinda have problemas this manga, the magazine dying and having to move to one that released one manga each 2 months, life is harsh xD
but I like it anyway and yeah, ended allright for me (it wasn't that bad to be meh xD)
I've started reading this series on a
ripoffsite, a time i didn't know of batoto yet so it's been about 4 years now? Started good and ended allright/ 'meh' to speak bluntly, decent art. Anyways, as always my thanks goes to the author and Vexed Scans for all these years. On another note, I always thought this didn't have that much reader until I saw the follow count... the best surpriseThe bigger hint at it was Aoi asking him if Haruka was with him "this time", implying that he had come to one of her presentations before and she was with him. Not a whole lot in and of itself since Aoi and Haruka are/were friends, but this is Haruka, she wouldn't be going to provoke deep thought. The chapter doesn't give any firm answers in that regard, but it leaves enough there to say with near certainty that's where the story is headed.
Disappointing, she's the least compatible with Tomonaga so the open ending shouldn't have leaned so much towards her.
Also, that ending... I-I can't... Wh-WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOR
God, thank you for all your work over the years, Vexed Scans. I never imagined that when I finished reading this series I would be older than the protagonist.
Hmm, your interpretation is fine, but I still think that even despite that seemingly cold reunion, his line about "as for how we ended up after that... Well, that's a story for another time." leaves plenty of room for them to have developed a relationship. Him forgetting her name after years of no contact shouldn't be too surprising, considering they were never as involved with one another as he was with Hirose, but it doesn't necessarily mean Haruka had no chance with him after that point. Also, it shouldn't be expected of Haruka to attend a scientific conference hosting intellectual minds on a topic she has absolutely no interest in simply to see her friend (and if her relationship with Tomonaga were on the rocks, as implied by the last page, they certainly wouldn't attend together). To me, that exchange seems like "she's not with me because we're fighting, and yep, I need your advice." I'm not saying it's necessarily one or the other, but if the ending is truly open-ended as you claim it is, I don't see why you can't agree that he might have ended up with Haruka. At that point you're just forcing your own interpretation onto the manga. On another note, I think that the last panel of the omake is implicative of the eventual relationship between Tomonaga and Haruka.
And here we see the true moral of the story. Otaku get no ending ;-;
I also don't necessarily see Haruka getting Tomonaga, you might say it's implied, but aside from her going to see him I see no hint at it.
Argh, business suit short-haired confident Hirose has quite the impact.
honestly, I really wanted to see him with yurine. I figure he could do with some stability in his life, and yurine seems like the sort of person who'd like supporting someone and helping them fulfill their dreams (and eventually finding her own)
Felt the ending could need more impact
I'm surprised you're all interpreting the ending to mean that Haruka ended up with Tomonaga.
Well, it's been a good ride. Thanks for translating and bringing this to us!
for the most part, however Haruka's progression with Tomonaga was totally left open.
That's what I'm hoping personally.
finally finish
kudos to all the scanlation group for these 5 years
personally, I think he's asking Aoi for advice because he's going to ask Haruka to marry him. Since he has always fussed at Onoda-sensei for dating/marrying Tohno so now he's going to try the same thing but is trying to reconcile with his previous statements hence the need for advice from Aoi.
at least, that way it's not so bittersweet, ha.
It's a nice ending. What's Kayo's 'ending' though....
It's been....quite a lot of time since I started reading it and guess what, the ending felt really sad. No it's good for characters and we have some kind of conclusion but now I have a free space in my soul and this emptiness is bitter. Nevertheless thanks for translators for finishing this work.
P.S. I still root for Aoi and I'm sure somewhere in the future they will end up together
