I'm wondering how more screwed relationships can get by adding another messed up guy. A guy that can abandon a girl as cute as Mami is definitely evil.

I can't read this with those glasses around her cheeks... It annoys me when I look at character designs where the glasses are clearly not where they should be.

Not saying everybody else should feel the same, but I don't like it.

They had sex. Dunno if that counts. But yes, KNIM is gone downhill lately. The story has lost all sense of direction, just mindlessly wandering around.

TheRater--you're still reading KnIM? I gave up, I dunno, maybe 80 chapters ago. Anything worthwhile happen since? Yeah, didn't think so.
I gotta agree that it's been pretty artificial. I mean, the initial setup was pretty stylized from the start, but kind of interesting. But for the last while it's been kind of a mix of the odd premise with typical formula just kind of going back and forth. Losing steam, to my mind.
But I actually do feel like ch 43 is, if not really authentic feeling, at least an interesting turn in tune with the premise. It's a new idea, and the idea matches together the writer-side with the character-side in a clever way. So, more interesting chapter than there's been for a while IMO.

if only it were interestig as opal says... the characters have little depth and feel very manufactured and unnatural. haruhi from suzumiya haruhi feels more human than these characters despite being a weirdo and depicted as a god of sorts.

being believable and relateable isnt about the emotions a character feels, but rather the situations in which they feel them. the only "believable" emotion in this manga so far is mami's disgust at shigure in the latest chapter... everything else is so forced and manufactured that i feel little connection with the characters. at this point i am just reading out of obligation like i do to KNIM

Wow, she was actually thinking for someone else for once!
I'm pretty happy this series is turning out like this. Having everything handed out to you on a silver platter (or in a cliché jealousy-drama plot) is way too boring to make a new story about. But now, we have... This is much more interesting than I thought it would turn out. : )

I think Yukina should go into the mountains and become a nun, Mami will finish getting over Shigure (although she seems pretty over him already), pick up Akira, and Shigure can just go mope somewhere. The end!

Yukina is so fickle. She chose her boyfriend, and now she has to live with her choice. Trying to go back to Shigure will be a disaster...calling it now.

I can't see any reason to feel sorry for her as well. Sux for her. In fact I don't feel any remorse for any of these characters besides Mami
